Too Much Information
Without anyone having to tell you, it is very apparent that the amount of information at our disposal increases exponentially. It feels like that happens almost every day.
For most us, the first thing that we think about when the discussion about too much information starts is technology. What with emails, messages - Messenger, What's App, Telegram, search engines, social media, apps and platforms we are wired 24/7.
But do you ever think about how consumed we are with information in other places as well? A simple, every day task like going to the supermarket or grocery store can get the better of you, if you are in a rush or trying to find 1 thing.
Consider this:
And that is just the grocery store! In the United States, there are over 1,700 commercial TV stations!
After you return from the grocery store having spent hours trying to choose your items to cook your dinner and you sit in front of your television to relax, how do you decide what to watch? 🤦♂️
Emotions Can Be Overwhelming
When you are bombarded by all the information and demands around you, you begin to feel emotionally overwhelmed. It is that feeling of being completely smothered by everything happening around you and is at its peak when we you trying to deal with problems and difficult situations.
Without adequate resilience, those feelings can lead you to a point of paralysis, fight or flight. For some, it many even take you to a place of 'no hope' causing you to throw in the towel and give up.
The WA Experience
When you first walk through the doors of our Wealthy Affiliate (WA) platform, your intial feelings of excitement and positive anticipation can soon turn to disillusionment and inferiority, if you are not able to navigate effectively.
The WA platform is a powerhouse of learning, communication, networking and success. This can feel like an explosion in your face that leaves you blinded while trying to find your balance on a tight rope.
The feelings of being overwhelmed can be positive though, like the gratitude you feel when a close friend surprises you with a bouquet for no reason. Or, the flood of likes and comments you receive from your WA supporters when you become indexed by Google for the very first time.
Those emotions may actually make you cry - with joy.
It's amazing how we often know where we make mistakes and do nothing about it, but when someone else point that out to you, then you stop, think about it and start making a change.
So, thanks for this reminder! I will definitely take step by step and use my time wisely as you suggested!
Keep writing, you are definitely doing an excellent job!
All the best!

Yes, at one point or another , we all are overwhelmed with the amount of information that comes rushing to us. However, we have to find a way to navigate around it all and use only what we need and let the rest fall by the wayside.
Thanks for the great advice you so willing provided to help us avoid the constant overload and in so doing find some form of balance. Wishing you the very best!
Kind regards,
Nichola
I'm used to staying focussed and getting things done in a timely manner in an offline world. However, I seem to get more easily distracted online and need to apply a touch more self discipline!!

I have noticed over the years that when the going gets tough the most underwhelmed people tend to have been the best organised.
The best organised tend to have been those who capture all there 'stuff'' in writing in some form, (thereby dumping their stuff outside of their mind, thereby minimising interference in their minds). They then turn their stuff into action lists that they priorotise based on what they want to achieve.
