In this tutorial I am showing you how you can make a professional logo with Canva.
(Don't forget to click on HD and Full Screen to watch it in the best quality.)

I chose to make the same logo like Jay did in the 2017 Niche Case Study.
Of course, I will not use it anywhere.
I just made it to show you guys the process.

All tools I use are free.
I had to buy the icon for a few cents, though.

The online app I am using is canva.com.
The color picker is called ColorZilla.
Just install their browser plugin and you are good to go.

That's all you really need to create logos within minutes.
The logo I make in this video is not perfect, of course.
If I wanted to use it, I would have to fine tune it a bit.

Still, I think it is looking almost identical with Jay's logo.

What do you think?

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask them in the comments below.
I will get back to you as quickly as I can.

Cheers

Moritz

Very good,
And could you please explain how to get the color plugin?
Thanks

Just Google "ColorZilla" or go to this site:
http://www.colorzilla.com/

If you Google it yourself, it will automatically detect your browser and let you install the browser plugin quickly.

I might make a video about it later today.
Not sure if I have the time, though.

All the best

Vielen dank Moritz. Sehr gut. I added this to my desktop. It's been a long time since I studied German (55 years). I know enough to get a meal, a room, and be polite. And of course bier und schnapps. lol Bob

Well done Moritz. Canva can be difficult to understand at first, but your video explains it in a way that is easy to understand.
Reply
MoritzS Premium
Yes, it is confusing first.
But once you have some experience in it, it gets pretty easy. :)

I love how Canva makes this kind of thing so easy. This means anyone can make a great logo for their website without needing to use Photoshop or anything like that.

It appears that all 'illustrations' have Canva written on them. How to avoid?
Reply
MoritzS Premium
I hardly use illustrations or images from them.
I usually upload my own images and use text and symbols to create my featured images. (That's what I mostly used it for.)
But they have free and paid images.
The free stuff should not have any watermarks.

I will take a look. But won't be able to do that before Monday.

No problem, I realized, those with Canva letters must be paid. Thank you.

Hi Moritz, I have never used Canva. You say to choose the size first, but where to start? Is this addition to Jay's video so I have to check there first?
Reply
MoritzS Premium
Hi Jovo.

Jay doesn't really show it. He uses Adobe Illustrator for his logos and only showed it quickly on Canva. He didn't make the whole logo with Canva.
That's why I decided to show how you can make the whole logo with Canva.
You don't really need to watch his video if you want to make your own logo.
It is, however, a great video in regards to building a mini niche site.

After logging in, just click on "create design".
It will show you different sizes.
But I always use custom dimensions.
For that I click on the button in the top right corner.
It should say something like "custom dimension" or "custom size". (Mine is German, so I don't know what it says in English.)
I do that in the video, too, but maybe I was a bit too fast there.

My size was already set to 400x100 pixels. That'swhy I didn't have to do anything there.
But I could have just clicked in the fields and changed it.

Hope that answers your question. :)

Oh. And, of course, you need to know how big the logo space on your site/theme is.
Reply
jvranjes Premium
I do not see the Create Design, that is the problem, see my all screen.
Reply
jvranjes Premium
Yes, I know it, for Metro, the same as yours.
Reply
jvranjes Premium
OK, found it. They use totally stupid color combination, cyan and white, not visible.
Reply
MoritzS Premium
Yes. That combination is not the best. ;)
