Page 3 - The Perfect Way to Share Your Affiliate Links

Page 4 - Other Beneficial Ways to Use Your Free Websites

The majority of Wealthy Affiliate members do not take into account what an awesome money making opportunity we all have available to us, beyond the ability to make money with our own niche websites. I am confident in making this claim because I too didn’t realize it until several months ago and since I like to think outside of the box, I want to share this with you.

DO NOT FORGET – YOU HAVE 25

When you become a Premium Member of Wealthy Affiliate you don’t just get the initial 2 free Site Rubix websites to begin building your website businesses with, you get 25 free websites and these can be used for many things including making you additional money. On the next couple of pages I will tell you a simple way to do this that will not take a lot of time to create.

I have read about using Site Rubix to test, but didn't quite understand how it was done. You have just explained it in a way that I understand. Thanks for that!

I have just tried a Site Rubix sub domain for re making a website (from a Weebly platform). This particular website I am hoping to sell along with the physical business that it was affiliated with (my retired Pet Hotel).

I was not willing to just delete all the photos and content when I closed the business. I recently asked the question to part of the community here about how to use the site rubix sub domains to build starter websites for re sale.

I enjoy building websites, I am not a coder or programmer, more of a designer. Can you give me any advice regarding how I would go about doing this? Have you done this or know of someone who does?

Hi - are you talking about building websites on site rubix domains and selling them? You can't do this - as it is a subdomain you don't actually own it.

And as an aside, you can't use content that has already been published once.
Reply
Maddy55 Premium
I would build them in the subdomains and then have them moved to whatever domain the buyer owned. These websites would not have content, but would be designed to accept content from their new owners. As far as selling a website with content, websites change hands all the time with content don't they?
Reply
DianeScorpio Premium
I understand your intentions now, and its a great idea.

With regard to selling websites with content, of course it's fine if the content has remained within its domain. Perhaps I misunderstood when you said you were 're-making your previous site? If you own the domain name and intend to continue using it, that's ok.

If however, the previous site was, for example, pethotel.com and you created a site called mypethotel.com, then the same content would be on two different sites.

Having said all that, I suppose the new owners of the business probably won't be interested in SEO and being ranked in Google!

I have built websites for those outside of WA using the site rubix website and then moving it to a domain of their choosing with content that they have wanted.

Definitely love this training. But I'm not sure I understand it totally. So you have 2 sites. The first site leads to the second where you have all your blogs. If you have any links going directly to WA signup from the first page, wouldn't Facebook etc see this and knock any ad back. Jim
Reply

No. Facebook only looks at the link of the website posted, they do not see the links inside of the website leading back to WA.

In order to insert a link within a picture, you will need to go into your post editor, if you already have the picture on your page/post you'll need to click on it, you can edit the settings for (custom link) you will include your link in that box and click save.
When using your link(URL) don't forget to include Http:// or WWW.example.com
If your using affiliate links, you'll need to copy the link and do the same as if it were your url.
You can send me a pm if you need further assistance.

When you set up your website to have a Static Home Page, you need to create a menu tab that says Blog. This is because by default, all WordPress websites place your blog posts on your Home Page.

If the Home Page is now Static, WordPress needs to know where to place any blog posts you will eventually create. This will also help your website readers to find your blog posts. But even if you do not intend to create any posts, you will still have to set up that Blog menu tab.

I do have a question. I actually bought a .com because I eventually want a full Bootcamp site, and thought I could just do the static page for now. But now I'm thinking, as I will occasionally write a blog post, that maybe I should- like you said, set up a siterubix site landing page with a link to WA and a link to my new baby but slowly growing website.
What do you think? I just don't want to hinder the baby website with early affiliate links...
Reply

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. I definitely agree to not have your new baby website exposed to affiliate links so early in its development.

I was trying to design a way to do this back when I first ran across Kyle's Training Video , but I couldn't get my brain wrapped around a doable plan that I was confident would work without negative SM ramifications. I sure didn't want to get cross ways with Google.

I kept thinking there's so much high quality content here in the community there has to be a way to do this and have it accepted by Google. I tried sharing a couple of pieces on Fb using my affiliate link and was asked to do the visual photo-matching test. The shares got posted to my Fb time line, and I'm not aware of any sanctions on my Fb page.

I'd like to explore my ideas further. Would you mind a PM to give me your thoughts on my plan? I promise not to take too much of your time.

Thanks Robert.

My take:

(1) Depends on what you are promoting and how you plan to sell it...As far as how it should look and what it should contain, I have posted a 4 part series on sales funnels, which does discuss landing pages...Over on my blog here...

(2) If you mean an opt-in page, you can have two separate pages, one for that and one for the offer, whatever that may be...Don't forget you also need a thank you page as well as the legal pages for the funnel...

Cheers!

Hello Robert,
Thanks for sharing this with us. Great stuff as always.
However, I just wanted to clarify something in my mind :
* The traffic to these free mini-websites will come from Social Media, right ?
* We cannot expect free traffic from Google and the others, because these sites are not properly SEO'ed, and will therefore not get ranked high in the search engines to attract free generic traffic, correct ?
* So, in essence they are actually only good for Social media sharing, AND maybe paid advertising where we dont have to compete with other sites for a specific keyword.
Do I understand this correctly, or am I totally lost ?
Your comments will be highly appreciated.
-Theuns.

My Take:

Landing pages as you are talking about are more for making the sales pitch, capturing a lead, thank you page after the purchase, etc. so you are correct that SEO per se is not the main focus...You are sending traffic to those pages from elsewhere...

However, you would want to include the pertinent keywords and a lot more in those pages, they are essentially sales pitches, so you want to include a strong title, and subheadings/points, and add in other parts of the page to include telling the reader about your authority, what is the solution to their problem, why your solution is better than anyone else's, maybe testimonials, etc.

You can push traffic to these sites from your blog posts, social media platforms, paid adverts, solo ads, PPC, etc. - of course organic traffic is always nice....so yes you are correct...But these pages have to be hosted somewhere right? Why not here where you control them...

An idea would be to make a video sales letter, which if you post through YouTube could rank, and pull in traffic that way...Organic traffic...For other related posts on your site you can put external links to that page(s) to get organic traffic as well...

Lots of ways to use the free sites available to us here, as Robert rightly says, you are only limited by your imagination!

Cheers!

Correct Theuns. On my Black Friday Sales website I didn't even bother to activate the SEO plugin because I didn't care about getting any rankings, mainly because it was for a 4-day sale and I was going to be sharing the link on my own on social media and in emails.

But you should still use proper keywords if you intend to share it especially on Twitter because everything shared on Twitter gets indexed in Google. Below is the link to my BF Sales website so you can see how I did it and still used proper keyword placement.

I can build a mini site rubix website. This website will have a static landing page promoting WA.
This site requires minimal SEO enhancement.
I can post this on social media platforms without any trouble.
It will link up to the WA sign-up page.
I can earn money from getting referrals.

Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Yes! That is exactly correct! There is no need to generate traffic for this mini website because it will be shared by you, SEO is not needed in this case.

The Black Friday Sales website I made, I didn't even activate the SEO plugin. I was able to make sales and get a few referrals, all because I shared the link a couple of times each day for 4 days.
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Generating traffic is not needed for the mini website because you do not need to rely on SEO, as you will be the driving force in getting the link shared on social media and emails.

I made several referrals and a few yearly sign ups within a few days on my Black Friday Sales website and that site does not even have the SEO plugin activated.

But for now, if you want to see the link, I posted it in my comment to FHagstrom below.

Hi Robert,
Thanks again for yet another golden nugget.

The one thing I'm not understanding is that, if it is bad to have affiliate links on every page of my main site then, I should create a page on site rubix and then link that back to my main site, where the affiliate links are?
Seems that I should just create the page on my main site if that is the case and add to my content there.

Also, say for example, I wanted to make a quick page promoting a one week only sale.
Would it be better to use a site rubix for that or, could I just create a page on my main site without adding it to the main menu and, making it no follow so the search engines won't pick up on it and then just trash the page when the sale is over?
I'm thinking in that way, if the visitor, whether they decide to take advantage of the sale or not, still has the benefit of all of my other content and my brand would still be relevant to those who see the promotion on social media.
Hope this all makes sense but, I've been meaning to ask someone these questions,
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
As Kyle says in the training, affiliate links should be centralized as much as possible because Google doesn't like websites with affiliate links in the content of every page. This does not include common spaces like side bars and footers.

It's the affiliate links within the "content areas" that can be problematic with Google. Remember, your website is for information first and foremost and selling is second.

If you put affiliate links within the content on the majority of your pages and posts, Google will see your website as spam. This is another reason why interlinking your content is important. On the pages without affiliate links, you will link to the page or post where the affiliate links reside.

I used the Site Rubix website to promote the 4-day Black Friday Sale and placed a few affiliate links to both the BF Sale and to WA. I didn't link it to my website because its sole purpose was to get referrals to either the BF Sale or WA.

Now when the 2016 BF Sale happens again, all I have to do is replace the affiliate link banners with the new ones and change any text that mentions a specific date. Then I can reshare the link again on social media and in emails. See link below.

Placing something like this on my website only to delete it when the sale is over is not necessary because it is a stand alone offer website that doesn't need my website to be effective. BUT you could do it your way if what you are selling is only part of what you offer and want to further promote your brand.

HI Robert,

So does this mean that it's ok to post a link to a website that has affiliate links on it for WA (or any place) to all the social Media sites and they allow this but just not a direct link to the affiliate site? Can you post these webpage links anyplace on Facebook, G+, Twitter, etc.? What is allowed as far as promoting this website (without having to pay for an ad or get kicked off Facebook, etc)? Also where would you put this ad, would you create a business page and put ads on there? I really like your ideas here they are really great! Thanks so much for this,
Barbara

Yes Barbara, you can post a link to a website that contain affiliate links to another website on social media, most often without any problems. But posting the direct affiliate link is not advisable, especially on Google+, even Facebook lately is becoming problematic.

There was also reports that Pinterest was cracking down on the posting of affiliate links. But so far I have not had any problems posting WA affiliate links there. As for Twitter, I have seen no problems posting affiliate links.

I have been using social media to share my links for about 2 years now and all for free. I have never had to pay for any kinds of ads. And using one, two or three of my free Site Rubix websites as sales pages that I share the links to, I can share them anywhere.

As with all links sharing on social media, just don't share too often within the same day and not the same link. Again Twitter seems to be the exception and posting more during a day is more tolerable.

Thank you for this, Robert. I have a test site and an affiliate site already. Now I have to make time to work with them. This is a good training and I'm bookmarking it for referrence.

You are welcome Barry. I find that having a test site is a great way to perfect the look or functionality of something first, before publishing it live.

On page 2 you write "But one thing we must not do is build a website with affiliate links within the content of the majority of pages."

There are people here making thousands of dollars every month by having only Amazon affiliate sites, with all posts/pages with affiliate links. The same is with people promoting WA. So I do not understand your sentence.

What I meant is what Kyle says in his training, that affiliate links should be centralized as much as possible because Google doesn't like websites with affiliate links in the content of every page.

This does not include common spaces like side bars and footers. It's the affiliate links within the content areas that can be problematic. The majority of my affiliate links reside within the content of about 30% of my pages and posts.

Again this does not include the side bar which appears on every screen. On the pages of content without affiliate links, I have internal links going to the pages where the affiliate links reside. Or sometimes I just direct people to the banner ad I have in my side bar.
