They say, know your enemies. In a way, the market is your enemy because it is not always easy to understand. To make things easier, we try to break into a niche, a small segment of a larger market.

Niche markets have a following and often you can find a magazine dedicated to a particular niche. The fact of the matter is that a niche magazine can help you understand the market in that you will learn how others are relating to the market, such as vendors, and you will learn the wants and needs of the market. It will help you develop your own products for a niche market.

I niche market often has discussion boards and has websites dedicated to it. There is only one way to get into a market and that is to be part of it; it is important to join these groups, not to sell to them but to take part in their activities.

If you have a passion for a certain niche, you have a head start because you are in the niche.

Once you have found your market, then you can build a website, create a newsletter, gather names and email addresses, and in general, be able to communicate with that market. You must become an expert and a friend who others in your niche can rely on.

It is a pretty good idea to follow newsletters in your niche and to purchase ads in such newsletters to help build up your income. Make sure you run the ad three times until folks get to know you. You must be the supplier of relevant information that is new and original and of use to your readers. Then when you recommend a product, they will take a look at it.

Unless you are selling your own products, or products in which you have an exclusive, you are simply recommending products and leaving the selling to the vendors who have professional writers promote the product. These are called copywriters. You can become a copywriter, but you probably have other things to do.

Sometimes it is better to hire others to handle some of your task related to marketing on the Internet. At low cost, you can have banners, logos and page content created.

One popular guru on the Internet, back when it was easy to make money on Internet, put a banner on one of his websites. He did it because one of his friends was making $50 a month from the same banner. Seeing that this worked, he created many websites, each producing $50 or more each month. He was going to college and he hired college English majors to write the content on his webpages.

It's a good idea to follow others who know how to make money on the Internet. Kyle and Carson worked their way through college by creating income from the Internet, as have many others. There is an advantage here at wealthy affiliate to receive training from those who know what they are doing.

As you design your business, you will come up on questions that you need to have answered. This is the place to get those answers. I suggest that you pay particular attention to Jay's webinars. He is a good marketer, makes a good living at it, and is a very good trainer giving the exact details on how to approach a marketing problem. Sometimes I miss one of his lectures, but he always records it so that I can go back and watch it when I have time to do so. Usually I just forget to do so since I'm old and senile.

Make sure you have an objective in your business, make sure you have a plan for your business. Make sure you have a schedule for your work and for your training.
