Introduction

Keyword & Industry research and the use of targeted keywords can almost be deemed as the most important aspect of any Pay-Per-Click (PPC) Internet Marketing campaign. If your keywords are not targeted and are not attracting the right type of traffic, you will not make sales. Additionally, if the keywords are targeted, but the industry is so competitive that you cannot get decent ad position for under $1.50, and then this is a problem as well. This tutorial is going to cover how to research keywords for an existing campaign, and how to find keywords that will open your eyes to new industries and opportunities.

When we create our keyword lists, we include both highly relevant keywords and keywords that are more broad in nature. By using the more broad keywords with the techniques you will learn in this tutorial you will be able to create highly relevant keywords, and find niche keywords that other advertisers are not aware of.

I would like to know if the Alexa basic membership ($9.99 per month) is all I need as an affiliate marketer. Is there a cheaper way to find the traffic analytics I need to make informed decisions?

Thank you. Will it let me look at analytics of other sites (like the ones I might want to connect with as an affiliate)?

we cannot look at other people stats unless they choose to show you, Alexa gives an over all global ranking, site rankings can also be seen in Jaxxy

Wow, Thanks that's really interesting, even though a lot to take in for a newbie like me. I'm sure I'll learn about ROI all in good time. The best way for me to learn is to implement these techniques so that is what I'm going to try and do now when I write my second themed page. I can honestly say I've never had so much fun "working" in ages. I've not wanted to pull a sicky for a day off at all ;) lol Infact I'm looking forward to work each day...Am I becoming a workaholic?

Not sure about the PPC explanation of #2 and 100% ROI. If I spend $45
to get a $45 commission that to me is break even. There is no ROI. Is the 1:50
ratio met to imply one sale for every 50 clicks? If so then there would be a 100%
ROI - right?

Hi guys! There is something I don't understand. As I use the keyword research tool I search by website and it shows me many combinations of words. So far so good. But then, when I click the "Get result" button my website is not one of the firsts shown. I mean I click those keywords with the highest coefficient but then find my website on the third page for example (if i find it at all). So my question is - aren't these keyword combinations suppose to be the ones that bring the site we promote on the top of the list? Thanks

a merchant is a vendor, kind of like- a person with a product and if the site receives traffic, we may in general imply that the product is good or hot and new right now.
either ways,it can be promoted to earn money.
hope that helps!

What does:
"the search term "wealthy affiliate" received over 300 searches last month"
mean?
Only 300 people around the world searched for it? doesn't make sense...

I like the Alexa recommendation. However, point #2 under Affiliate Programs needs better clarification. I am not a 'math-person' and I would appreciate a better example.
