This week at work we were invited to attend a cyber crime safety course. which was organised and delivered by the cyber crime prevention team of one of UK Forces.

Now, I have always thought myself wise enough not to fall into what I consider pretty basic trick, such as not to open dodgy looking emails or phone messages. Yet this week I learned a few tips, which will cost you no extra time and effort to implement, but will keep you extra safe.

And I would like to share these tips with you for two main reasons. As online businessmen and women, we are possibly more vulnerable than most to become exposed to this new type of crime, and to become prey of hacking groups who constantly try to steal personal details to access our accounts.

But as a fellow affiliate, I also feel a sense of duty to my potential customers. What I have learned today could have an impact in how our customers see us when we approach them, and some techniques may have to be avoided or curbed down in order to avoid being seen as potential 'bad guys'.

So, let's get into the thick of it. Click on the next page and go to Lesson 2 to find out more about RANSOMWARE.

Thank you, Giulia, that was really helpful, particularly your warning about using hot spots. We work with Macs, which tend to be a little safer, but we are still very vigilant.

If there's one thing I learned, is never lower your guard.

Good Morning Giulia,

A great post, an eye-opener on various things. I have checked 1 email address and all seems to be ok, now I have to do the second. It gives one goosebumps to say the least. Thank you for writing about this.
I hope all is ok at your end including fur babies.

Lovely to hear from you again, Taetske. We are all fine here. I hope you are alright, considering your recent loss (hugs to you and Michael).

Guess what, on my main email address I found 3 breaches (!!!), 2 from 2015 and one from last year. I must learn to be wiser.

Good Morning Giulia,

You know I still have down moments. Recently I dreamt about her, it was so real that I can still feel how I touched her.
My second email was no good. It is too short. I checked adding my loss to it and that seems to be a good one. Will do that on Google today.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske
