What is the Difference between

Media.net and AdSense?

This is probably the most common question anyone could ask when planning their income strategy for a blog. The answer is simple.

We will compare AdSense and media.net based on the amount of income a publisher can make per 1000 impressions.

It all depends on many factors. However, I can give you an estimate of what you can expect to see for these page views.

Google AdSense offers an average CPM (cost per $1-$3/1000 impressions) payment depending on various factors.

Media.net users claim they get more than $5/1000 impressions.

What does this mean?

Here's an easy math formula to help you calculate the cost of your purchase.

AdSense: $3 x (10,000/1000) = $30

Media.net: $5x (10,000/1000) = $50

Can you see the difference? Contextual ads with higher click-through rates (CTR) are another plus. This helps you make extra income.

This quick comparison shows the differences between these ad networks.

CPM Average Ad Network

Google AdSense: $1 to $3

Media.net: $3 to $6

Propeller Ads: $1 to $2

You now know why Media.net is so beneficial and what to do with it. You should also sign up for Ezoic Ad Tester to receive 10x Ad Revenue.

Let's now see how media.net approves and places ads on your blogs.

Hi Lily,

I have a question. I went on Media.Net's website and this is what I found in their program guidelines regarding the amount of traffic they require in order to apply with them:. "Have a reasonable volume of visitors already using the website"

Could you tell me where you found the "5000 pageviews"?

The reason I am asking is that I've been using Adsense for quite a while now and did not know about Media.net. I know about Mediavine which pays a lot better, but requires 50000 pageviews per month ( that I don't have yet)...

Thanks 😊

Hi Denis,
I actually had this information from a dear friend of mine who uses Media.net, they don't tell you this until you apply and it can come as a rude shock. But hopefully, you can meet this pageview level sooner than the one for Mediavine, ouch.

Still not at that level yet but getting there...I only have about 100 visitors per day so approximately 3000 visitors per month. (remember that I still work my full-time job, so this is a "side-kick") 🙂

Adsense has been paying me constantly, but as you say, not a lot! It only pays for a few expenses...

One thing I am wondering is this:

I presently use this method with Adsense. I place the ads in my articles manually, meaning I embed an HTML code where I want the ad to appear and I never let Adsense decide where they would place the ad. (I have seen the mess they create when you let them do that)

What if I go with Media.net in a little while (let's say when I get about 50 extra visitors per day, which could be soon) I am wondering if I will have to go and change hundreds of articles and delete the HTML code to each one of them?

Interesting post Lily. I use Ad Networks myself to monetize my blog.

With Ezoic, I'm not sure if they require you to change DNS if so i wouldn't wish to, because I dont' want to change from WA

I also use another adnetwork, which has 4 ways to make money from your blog and pays cash daily.

So confirming what you write about these are great ways to monetize your blog

I’m with Canty. I am far from the amount of visitors needed for ads. Thank you. I will save this!
