The Principles of Following and Un following on Instagram

Ok so now you are up and running with your IG account and you have probably taken a load of photos and posted them and put 100’s of # and yet no-one has COMMENTED, LIKED or even FOLLOWED you.

The TRUTH is ...YOU have to go and LOOK for followers, they wont come to you!
Write out a list of the names of people in your industry, niche or company that you can go and find and follow.

Now follow their followers, but not all at the same time!
Be SENSIBLE...I will explain why later...

In following the followers of leaders in your industry or niche you are following your TARGET market. Many of these people will FOLLOW you back, and if they don’t they will most certainly visit your account and more than likely like one of your amazing PHOTOS or leave a COMMENT.

Now of course visitors will only LIKE or COMMENT if your PICTURES are AWESOME so make sure that you take great photos with relevant content.

Make your own QUOTE pics using your own photos as the background and a pic app to impose the text on top. Be original, amusing, entertaining, eye-catching, clever, creative and funny!

If you are making your account a product based account then use pictures of the products that you use YOURSELF. Remember the phrase...be a product of the product! If you don’t use them why should anyone else?

If your account is about you and YOU are the BRAND then make them EXCITING, FUN and ENVIABLE. You want people to want to be you and to come and live your LIFESTYLE.

This does not mean its OPEN SELFIE SEASON and this does not mean that you turn your Instagram account into an online product brochure for your company. I am assuming that you already have an online shop for that! Mix your posts up to appeal to your targeted audience.

Design your own little logo to stamp your photos with in Canva or use a simple PHONE app to place your name on the corner of the photo. Done correctly this can look very professional.

Instagram has a similar place to Facebook JAIL; the only difference is they just SHUT DOWN your account, no WARNINGS, you go to log in and it’s GONE!
