INTRODUCTION:
When I was learning how to make Pretty Links in one of Kyle’s lessons I had a difficult time trying to understand the training. For some reason, I couldn’t get the hang of it, and I watched the video at least five times and probably more!
Before actually creating my pretty links, I noticed that the pretty link icon was showing up on my pages when I was in edit mode. I didn’t realize what it was for, but it didn’t take a genius to know that it had something to do with pretty links!
I asked around, but everyone seemed to want to know what that icon was for just as much as I did! Well, I couldn’t get that pretty link icon out of my head, so I made it a point to figure out just what that icon was for and if it could make my life easier!
I set out on my journey to find the answer. The research didn’t take as long as I thought it would. I was successful in my pretty link quest, and I want to share it with you.
Using the WordPress Visual Editor
That pretty link icon (yellow star) will appear on your pages and posts after you install the Pretty Link Lite plugin and you are in the “edit mode.” The icon will allow you to create a new pretty link or use a pretty link you previously created. You can do this all as you are writing your articles.
To use the pretty link icon, you must be in the visual mode (not text) of your WordPress editor.
The Working Popup Screen
Using the pretty link icon you can add a link while you are writing your article or add the link to an article that you have already written.
Click on the insert pretty link icon and the Insert Pretty Link popup will appear.
This screen will allow you to either create a new pretty link or choose to use an existing pretty link. This screen will be the main one you will use, but there will be a few variations of the screen depending on what you are trying to do.
Hang on to your seats because I think this is what we all need as it will make creating pretty links a breeze and there is no reason to go back and forth to the pretty link plugin.
Let’s get at it!
