I don't know about you, but I struggle with traffic constantly. I have been searching for ways to help increase traffic and came across some great ideas. I want to show you what I found and hopefully it will help you as well.

There are so many ways that you can generate traffic, however, I am only going to concentrate on seven.

Optimization

Optimization plays such a huge role in how you build your site. You work hard at finding just the right keywords for an article. However, if you do not place those keywords in the right places, they won't help you much. Learning how to use your keywords effectively will significantly improve your traffic.

URL

Your URL is your face to the world. You want to be sure to pick one that draws people in. Kyle teaches us about picking a URL that is a good match to your niche. Sometimes you can find one that is an exact match to your niche, however, you don't necessarily have to do this.

You want to create one that will draw your visitors in. You want to make them feel like "Hey! I found what I have been looking for!"

Try to make you url catchy.

Quality Link Building

I know that Kyle says you don't need to worry about link building. It isn't needed when building your site.

I decided to add this in because I feel it is important to understand. If you do decide to use link building, there is a right way and a wrong way.

The wrong way is to buy links to your site. Google will notice a bunch being added and ding your site.

However, if you do it the right way, you will do great.

So, how do you build quality links? I learned that if you are going to backlink, you want to be really picky about what site you pick for that backlink. Sites are ranked by google and you can use that rank to decide. You want to pick a site that has a high ranking.

This will help to build your authority and your traffic.

Use Google Adwords

Kyle teaches us how to use google adwords for our success. If you have the money and can spend a bit on advertising, you will be able to generate a good bit of traffic.

Learn how to write good ads that will make visitors want to come to your site.

Join Forums

The whole idea behind your website is that YOU are an expert in the topic you have chosen. Google judges your site based on your authority in the topic.

There is no better way than to help increase your authority than to contribute to a forum whose topic is relevant to your niche.

Take the time to ask questions and contribute to the topics in the forum. Usually you can also build a bit of backlinking by adding your site in your signature.

WA is one of the best forums we have for this type of stuff. However, you want to seek out other forums and use them as well.

Content

Content is THE most important part of your website. This is how you will generate the bulk of your traffic.

Take the time to do your research on each topic you write. Find keywords that are relevant and use them in each page you write.

Images

Did you know that your images get indexed in google as well? You want to be sure to optimize each and every image you use in an article. Use this to your advantage.

Be sure to place your keyword into the titles of your images. Make sure to use the alt tag as well.
