What is Local Search Engine Optimization?

Local search engine optimization is the practice of optimizing your site to get ranked for searches with local intent and helping people in your locality find your local business.

A practical illustration of a search query with “Local intent” is “Business lawyer near my home”. These days, 46 percent of Google searches are found with local intent.

Why is Local SEO Crucial?

If you are operating a small business that delivers to a certain locality in some specific locations (e.g. web designer, wedding photographer, book printer) then local SEO is a significant part of your tactic for growing that business.

It considerably increases your online visibility in search results since fully-optimized local listings have preeminence over search engine listings.

Great training insights but left me wanting more. I love the topic of Local Search Optimization but would love to see more on Yelp, Angie's List, and others that can send local signals as well as Google My Business. Maybe a training on each like Bing Places in one, Yahoo Local in another etc...

Israel, we need this type of training here. We can find inspiration through blogging and social media, and TONS of talks on YouTube. We need KNOWLEDGE and TOOLS to succeed online here.
