Are keywords or keyword phrases important? (5)
In a word, yep.
Search engines send their “spiders” out to scour the Internet looking for websites like yours. Their sole task is to find a website and say, “a ha, I just found a website.”
The spider takes that new discovery back to say Google and deposits the new found website and web pages into a big file or database.
Google sorts the web page database based upon what keyword is used on any particular page. Google also has a secret way of determining the quality of any given web page. This is what is used to display a web page in the Google search results. The secret “algorithm” will determine the search result position of a web page. Will it be number 1 or number 10,000?
Your article can end up looking like Quasimodo in the Hunch Back of Notre Dame if you try to squeeze in your keyword a billion times in your content. Keep it simple. Keyword placement should be and sound natural.
You need to place your keyword in your article title. Repeat the keyword in the subtitle. Put the keyword in your first paragraph. Put the keyword a couple of times in the middle of the article if appropriate. Finally, use the keyword in the conclusion of your article.
Keyword density is the concept that you have to have your keyword “x” number of times in relation to the length of your article. Well, foo. I use less than the recommended number of keywords in my articles and I still get top 10 rankings for my content.
Don’t get your undies bunched up trying to fit the “proper” amount of keywords in your content. Just remember, beginning, middle (a few times), and end for long articles.

That is one great piece of training. Your writing style is so easy to read. I agree wholeheartedly about Yoast SEO. I was using All-In-One but since changing to Yoast, I have gone through my website and worked to get those green buttons shining. I find it so helpful when I am writing a new post or review page.
Loved it. (never got bored once)

My nice site is less than a year old, so not as "trusted" as yours, but it is already getting pages and articles that show up front and center on Google searches - and I credit that to having been schooled well on SEO practices. This training adds even more polish, and is much appreciated.
