Your description on every pin is vital. If you don’t get it right, you’re missing out on a great opportunity to attract attention to your pins or even your website. I am in the process of learning how to use Pinterest more effectively and I will share some of the information I have gathered in this tutorial.

Your boards and Pins are indexed by the external search engines, but Pinterest also indexes your content for internal search. Your pins are categorized according to the descriptions. If you expect to be successful on Pinterest, you need to take the time to write the best possible descriptions for your pins.

This tutorial will cover:

  • The best length for your descriptions
  • A checklist of 6 questions to ask yourself
  • 6 mistakes to avoid in your descriptions
  • 6 tips to improve your descriptions

Thank you.

In fact I never add any description. Instead, alt text shows automatically. So the job is done already when I add picture to the post.

I put keyword usually in the picture file name, so again this is done already in the post, no need for extra job.
