The search engines are there to help people find your content but it is your headline that makes them want to read it.
When people look at search engine results, there is only a small amount of information for them to see. They do not see your content or your images. There is a title, a short description, and a URL. Your title has to jump out at them and say “Click me. This is the information you are looking for." When I was researching this topic, the following headline made me want to click.
According to Copyblogger, statistics show that on average 8 - 10 people will read headline copy, but only 2 out of 10 read the rest. Your headline has to grab their attention long enough for them to stop scrolling. If your headline is weak or vague, they have no incentive to click. It’s as simple as that.
Social sharing
When the attention of the reader is captured by a title, they will often share on social media sites, sending you more visitors.
