The first step towards writing an ebook is defining the topic of it.

You are a person that has been through a lot in life, probably, and learned a lot from it. Think about your best experience or your expertise, and make a list of all the topics you could say a few words about. Don't have in mind that you'll have to write plenty about one topic you choose, just write out a bunch of them. Then, select one that you currently have the most interest in.

Don't worry about if you'll have enough ideas and content for it. We'll get to it. The biggest step towards finishing an e-book is to actually start it.

You should choose a topic this way. For example, you're a mechanic, and you love doing fitness. You wouldn't believe it, but you have at least 2 e-book potentials immediately.

Choose 'mechanic' domain. Think of all the things that you're doing at work. What problems do people have with cars or motorbikes when they come to your repair shop? Can they do any of things you're doing at home by themselves at home?
The goal of e-book can vary, but most often, it is to help somebody with something.
This makes getting the topic of an e-book much easier. Simply write out 20-30 problems your customers have and write a 2 page article about each problem. You've got a 80-100 page e-book on your way, filled with solutions to people's everyday problems.

If you'd go with fitness, you'd have a totally different set of topics available. Just go deeper into what you're doing and how you're helping yourself or someone else, and turn that into ideas for an e-book.

You don't have to worry if there are e-books with similar topics around. You're about to build your own network and clients, and you're preaching your approach towards what you're writing about.

What would you do when you want to put your name , when you are writing poems with your real name or different name that you want be privately ?

In my opinion it's always good to use one's own name. If your writing turns out to be very popular; it will make it easy for people to identify the writer. Unless, of course, your publishers can easily get hold of you when there is need for recognition. I hope that helps.

I started writing a self-help/metaphysics book that I was planning on turning into an eBook. I have a few chapters already and plan on only a few more. Should I finish it and try to generate revenue through wealthy affiliate or should I turn the content into my niche website, so they can read the entire book on my site with the chapters being blogs or whatever?

If I was you, I would set up a niche site base on the e book. You could write content for your book and also write content for your website. Be careful not to copy what on your book to your site and then sell the same content back. that would destroy your integrity.

Great article. I would also suggest publishing it on Amazon/Kindle. It is free and you can get all the help you need in the form of templates and even a cover maker. Worked great for me. You can find how to publish on Kindle here

I agree ebooks are an important source of revenue for us---so long as we give really strong value to the reader.

You might want to look on Amazon for how to publish/market ebooks on Kindle----they are a goldmine of ideas.

Look to your eventual publisher before you write so you use the correct formatting for , your specific publisher. On Amazon, for instance, there's simple ways of publishing ebooks if you use Wordpress to write your content..

In your training, I really liked the part at the end, where you talk about leveraging your ebooks. Never want to just assume you write an ebook, publish it, and that's it.
