Show Your Personality
You've heard this in the training, and it's important enough to repeat it. Write like you speak. Don't try to act all professional with words you don't use. It sounds fake, and often is off putting.
If you would normally say "Hey" instead of "Hello" then write
"Hey everyone! Welcome to my site."
Don't write "Hello everyone."
There can only be one you. This is the moment to let yourself shine! Be you!
Grab Their Attention & How Can You Help?
Your first paragraph needs to hold the readers attention. Why did you create this site? Be sure to be their answer for help, right off the bat. Your first few sentences should look something like this.
"My name is (name) and I’m a (what you do / job title). I help (your ideal customer) to (solve their problem) by (your solution)."
So if you're promoting WA through Bootcamp, yours would read something like this
"My name is Stephen and I’m an internet marketer. I help folks in retirement, make a residual income working online, by creating free video tutorials on my blog."
In 2 sentences you've told your ideal customer exactly what he was looking for and how you can help him/her. Great job!
And remember, this is just like any other page on your site.
Go ahead and add photo's or a video!
Your About Me page doesn't have to be boring.
Lets move on to where I tell you not to talk about yourself on your About Me page.
Wait. Say what?
