I decided to create this tutorial because when I first started using Yoast I had no idea what I was doing lol! Now that I figured it out I would like to share what I have learned and I hope you will find this helpful.

After you have installed and activated the Yoast plugin you will need to activate the Advanced settings pages before you can activate the sitemap.

Click on 'Dashboard' which is under the blue SEO. Then click on the 'Features' tab at the top of that page. You will now see a list of features that Yoast has to offer. Look for 'Advanced settings pages' and click 'Enable'.

Scroll down and click 'Save Changes".

Next we will activate the sitemap.

Thanks for this training! I literally just switched over to Yoast yesterday. Is it bad if I didn't remove the old sitemap before submitting the new Yoast sitemap?
