Introduction to Medium

Ev Williams started Medium.com in 2012, on the 14th of August that same year, he clearly defined the concept of the Medium as a site for both professionals and amateurs. He describes it as a platform for sharing ideas and stories with the world at large. He did not miss words when he defined it as a website that is very simple to use and encourages collaboration.

He identified how the Medium was uniquely different from other Social Media. The highlights about Medium are listed below:

  1. It lets you focus on your words
  2. It helps you to be collaborative
  3. It helps to find and attract your audience.

Medium is not concerned about your profile, your pictures, nor your network of friends, but it focuses on the content you have to offer. As you will soon see, there is no room for elaborate designs of headers and text.

I will be glad to show you; how to make money from this platform by writing, editing your articles, and how to properly engage the platform for great benefits

Hi @Parameter. Thank you for all of your useful training. I appreciate you sharing what you know. I've been writing on Medium for two years and I love it. I would caution users, however, about including affiliate links in the posts. The best way to reach a wider Medium audience is to get your article curated (selected to be distributed by Medium in certain topics). Curated articles tend to generate revenue from the partner program long after they're first posted. However, curators won't choose any articles that have affiliate links to be shared with followers of their topics. This is just to warn writers new to Medium about the rules. If you post too many articles that are not selected to be curated, it takes you out of the running for this option. To really build an audience on Medium it is important to polish your writing, follow the guidelines (ie. list the source for your images) and promote your work. Be sure to include your website link in your bio and you can have a very subtle link to a contact form for your email list, but it just has to be the link these days. It is a fun platform that will help you hone your writing skills and you can make some money from Medium itself for your content (if you join the partner program).

You welcome Babou3, good to know you already use the platform to write, but you will benefit much more and get more free traffic simply by adding your website link to your post and increase your list, like I pointed out
