When you are in need of an image for one of your posts/pages and you don't want to get in trouble with copyrights. Where do you get it?

When I first started, I was copying and pasting all the images from Google, then I found out that was not legal and I could be caught in Copyright issues.

I learned a bit and found out that Google has options to allow you access to only the images labled for reuse. This is where you will want to pick your pics.

First Step!

Decide what you are looking for and type it into Google.

Just out of curiosity - do you know for sure if you always get notified before being fined?

I'm pretty sure that you don't always get a warning... in fact many of the times it is the latter. I've heard of many DMCA's being filed against people - no warnings issued. Having good intentions or not knowing any better makes no difference. Once your caught, your caught...

Not trying to cause a debate as I know that many people disagree on this issue, but even websites such as Pexels and Pixabay can contain images that are unsafe to use.

This is just an option. It comes down to personal preference to use it or not. :)

Wow, I used to do the same thing, then I went back and deleted them all. So as long as it is labeled for reuse we are all set? How the heck you figure that out? Thanks for the info.

The more research you do, the more you discover. There is still some possibility of problems but as I said below, if you have a contact on your site you should be fine and will receive a warning before anything serious.

Thank you again I must of missed the fine print. Lol this well defiantly help. I can't afford the program say anything about paying for my pics at a $1.00 a piece depending on the size. Then I can't use them as a logo unless I want to pay $2500.00

As long as you have some contact method on your website you should find no copyright fines before a warning to that contact.
