Pinterest can give you a massive amount of traffic when you take the right step.

Pinterest uses 'smart feed' algorithm to show which pins are most relevant to a particular user, just like Google ranks our posts in the search engine.

Gone is the days whereby the most recent pins will pop up on top while the older ones are buried below.

So, how could we make our pins show up on the top?

Here are some key points to rank higher in Pinterest smart feed is by:

  • pinning quality content, and
  • pinning regularly

Now, let me just share you my typical pinning routine before I use BoardBooster.

I opened my Pinterest app, saw some interesting pins and started pinning. Then I saw other relevant and more attractive pins and pinned those, too. Without knowing, I have already pinned 20 items or more at one go, then did not pin any other things for the next few days.

Now, here's come the problem:

Pinterest values consistency. When you pin sporadically like that, and go silence, it would assume that you are not an active contributor in Pinterest because you don't pin every day. As the result, it will give lower ranks to your pin, and don't be surprised if your pin never made it to the top of the feed.

True, I can login to Pinterest every single day, but it would take too much time (especially when you are easily carried away in reading other people's stuff).

Now, would it be nice those 20 pins that I already pinned at once are released slowly over time, a few pins per day, but spread over the span of a week?

Rather than spending 15 minutes every day in Pinterest (totalling more than an hour a week), just login once a week and spend 30 minutes to do your bulk pinning. But yet, Pinterest is starting to trust our content and rank it higher on top.

But how to do this?

Enter BoardBooster.

BoardBooster is a pin scheduling system that allows us to do 'bulk pinning' for our boards and publish the pins based on our preferred schedule.

Here's why BoardBooster stands out from other Pinterest scheduling tool:

  • BoardBooster has three powerful pinning tools that allows you to differentiate pin scheduling for: (1) your new content (2) other people's content (3) old pins. Just set the rule once, and forget about it. More about this later.
  • You don't need to use special app or plugin to do your pinning, just use the original Pinterest app. I used to try other Pinterest scheduling tool, but stop using it because it requires special web browser plugin to do the pinning and that means I need to be on my computer and can not do it from my mobile phone. With BoardBooster, you just do your pinning as usual and put it in special boards and BoardBooster will take care the rest for you.

And the bonus!

Have you ever heard a 'rule' of follow other people so that they follow you?

I never do this and yet my followers started to grow steadily every single day. In just 3 months of using BoardBooster, my number of followers have already tripled.

Pretty cool, right?

Where exactly this BoardBooster place the pins?

When I pin manually I have to choose a board, so re-pinning would imply having the same pictures again and again, in the same board or to several boards. So I miss something important here.

Just recently I have started to dabble with Pinterest, and I thought,

I have a question. If I use Scheduled Campaign then say I pin content into that to be re-pinned to various boards and then if I have it spread out in days 1,3,5 like you show here.

If I have it set to repin in 3 different boards then that Pin won't be taken out of the secret board until it's repinned in all 3 boards I set it to? Even if it takes a month?

For example:
Secret Board - Repin "Helping save money" to 3 different boards (1 pin a day).

It doesn't get taken out of the secret board until it's been repinned in all boards correct?

Thanks

Yes, it will stay inside the board until you finish all the pinning based on your specified schedule.

Is Scheduling used for when you pin other people's images?

I'm kind of confused as to if Pinterest can be used to just pin other people's images in Boards you create as well as promoting your own content?
Reply
Triblu Premium
Yes Megan, you can (and should) share other's pins too ... the ones you like, of course. That's how your account will gain attention from other members on Pinterest and then possibly they'll share your images which will lead back to your website.

Hope this helps you.

@Megan8 yes, you can use scheduling tool to pin your own content as well as other people’s content.

In my training, I specifically talk about how you can use the ‘scheduler’ to share other people pins because I promote my own pin automatically using the ‘campaign’. It ultimately will pin my own content to my own board (which is also in scheduler), as well as group boards.

Does it make sense?

I haven't used pinterest much but I'm pretty sure the whole idea is, in fact it is encouraged, to repin others posts and like, comment, etc. while also adding original content of your own as well. And you can share things from other sources that havent been shared so much to try and stand out. Basically interact as much as you can with similar users and their followers to gain followers of theirs and you'll get other people in general to notice you too.

I think scheduling is to set your pins up in advance for example to pin one thing a day so you are consistent. Perhaps set up your pins for a week upfront. So you dont have to spend everyday on the platform.

Thanks very much for the training. Where it says "tall only" or "tall or square" it mentions that it will skip any horizontally stretched photos and only include square or vertical photos even in the "tall or square" option.

So does this mean that any photos that are horizontal will not get posted, even in 'tall or square"?
Reply
fiftarina Premium
I guess so. I think that's because tall images perform better in Pinterest search.

Nothing it's better than a thorough training with lots of screenshots =)

Thank you so much! Have had Pinterest for some time but really found it NOT user-friendly, so I neglected it. This was very helpful & easy to follow.

Yeah.., please try it. I'm happy to report that I don't need to login everyday to pin multiple pins to multiple boards. Very time saving!

Wow, what a detailed training Rina. Definitely going to look into that free trial of Boardbooster. Is there also a time limit or is it just the 100 pins limit?
Reply
fiftarina Premium
Seems like I miss your question. No time limit, only 100 pins limit.

Try it, Katie. It's pretty useful, especially if you can log in to Pinterest daily. With this, I only need to log in once in a week (or sometimes, two weeks =D). It really free up a lot of my time.

I have a question about the timezone option. If I chose New Zealand time would it pin according to NZ time? My target audience is mainly US.
Reply
fiftarina Premium
Yes. It will pin according to your set time zone.
Reply
Crittercraft Premium
It won't accept the US timezone :(
Reply
fiftarina Premium
If you've been using BoardBooster for a while, you can check under Report -> Best Time to Pin to see which time window are best for your followers. So if your followers are mostly US-based, it will be reflected on that graph.
