Before we get started, you need to know a couple of things during before and after starting the transfer.

Before you start:

You need to decide which of your account should be the Source account and which one will be your Destination account.

At the end of the transfer, the Source's profile will be replaced by the Destination's profile.

Please note that the transfer will take place 7 days after you have initiated the request. An initiated transfer will take about 48 hours and you will get limited access to both accounts during this period.

If by any chance you need to cancel the transfer, you must login to your account and click on Cancel Transfer located at the bottom of the page. You may need to Cancel Transfer if by any chance you get the Source/Destination accounts wrong. Please note that this can only be undone after 6 months.

Since the destination profile will be the profile that will stay, a few things will happen after the transfer is complete.

First, your Circles, Blocks & Ignores will be copied from the Source profile to the Destination profile. The Circles with the same name in both Source and Destination profiles will merge.

Please note that Profile info, comments, posts and authorship information in Source will not be transferred. Also, Google+ pages associated with the Source profile will not be transferred to the Destination profile.

Can you explain if this is about profiles or pages? I'm trying to merge two Google+ pages for our business (not local, just regular pages) and move our Youtube channel to that combined page. Are these instructions for "merging your google+" pages?

Hey Tony -

As of right now, it is not possible to merge Google+ "Pages". This particular step by step tutorial is for Google+ "Profiles" only.

I've had several people with the same concerns. Please note the following:

1.- Google will automatically create a G+ Page for local for any business that has a bricks and mortar presence, as well as for individual doctors, lawyers and real estate agents at those locations.

2.- Typically there is no way to suppress or delete this G+ Page for local.

3.- It is not possible to merge two G+ Pages (unless they are both of the type: local and for the same business at the same address, in which case you should contact support). Nor is it possible to pass followers from one page to another.

4.- Google is much, much more likely to show a G+ Page for local in the search results than a company/brand page for a given local business.

5.- A business can have as many other G+ Page types as they desire for their brand, events or the parent company.
