Lifestyle blogging is a term that has been thrown around without many being able to define it properly. Essentially it is a website that features the personal choices, and interests of the blogs Author.

Categories that qualify as lifestyle blogs are:

Food

Faith

Fashion

Home Decor

Relationships

Marriage

Parenting

Career

Encouragement

DIY / Crafts

Budgeting

and any variation and combination of those subjects. In order to write an effective Lifestyle blog, I find it very important to scale this broad blog subject down to size.

Wow... you have so many good tutorials!

Here's my question. I have already set up my website, thebookclubber.com and it's all about books - reviews, new arrivals, etc.

I also want to set up a 2nd one that I can blog about fashion, fitness/health and food. And I can link my instagram to this 2nd site.

Or, should I just have 1 website that I can talk about books, fashion, fitness/health & food?

Having 1 blog is much easier to manage than 2.

Appreciate your insight.

Cheers!

Hi Julz,

thank you for your compliment.
I would highly suggest that you stay with two blogs. It sounds like a daunting task to you run two, but it actually isn't, if your audience is in the same range - so if you are already marketing to let's say women from their 25 to 45, then you are also hitting the target audience for the second blog, and therefore can promote them on the same social networks.
That said, in order to make running two blogs easier (I have two, if you don't count, writing for WA), is by having a solid editorial calendar. I already wrote about it in this training, but having more than one blog, makes that essential. Also, find a comfortable posting schedule you can live with, like posting three times a week per blog ( I would not go any less), and on alternating days. I hope this helps. More training to come soon, lol.

Blessings!

Another one I'm bookmarking, Claudia. I do like your calendar idea, especially. It'll help me mix it up better and probably make a livelier.

I've been exploring different ways of constructing posts and making notes about which ones work and which don't work as well.

I do appreciate your sharing so much of your mana'o (knowledge/skill). Thank you!

Thanks great ideas. What I do if I have an idea I put a draft post with just a header to remind me and then maybe a couple of words, then when I am ready to write a post I have a few ideas already to expand on. Great info Cladia.Thank you.

Yes, I do the same thing - I also add all of the resources, and potential affiliate links associated to the post in there, so I have everything ready for posting. Better than having to hunt the info down once you have time to write it.
Thanks for reading the training, hon - blessings!

This is great info. I'm wanting to totally revamp my anti 9-5 website to revolve around "Live life by your rules" mentality and blogging about what adventure i'm up to this time. Just need to narrow the details i suppose

Funny, someone called me from South Korea, before I finished reading this blog, and she is asking me about my website! She wants me to have a meeting with her on Skype about peace and reconciliation.

What does this have to do with this blog?
I don't know the connection, but I think it has something to do with reaching the whole world with my message. This means I have an audience all over the world, and if I apply the lessons here, it will help me so much.
