Uploading Your Website to The Server

Now that you have your hosting and domain set-up, you are going to be able to install a website using our website creator here at Wealthy Affiliate (called Wordpress Express).

Getting your website set-up is a matter of a few steps. To get started, go to the Websites tab within side menu.

Then under the My Websites tab...

You will want to click the "Create New Website" button. This will open the website builder pop-up window.

Within the builder you will be given two options. If you are installing a brand new domain, you will want to use Option 1: Add a New Domain. Simply type the URL of your domain that you have set-up and that is pointing to Wealthy Affiliate. Make sure you have already updated the DNS settings before you have done this step.

Then click Next Step. You will then be prompted to Choose Your Website name. This is essentially the text that will be associated with your domain name (in the title tags), so you should make it very relevant to what your domain name is.

For example, if your site name was "HowtoBuildaWebsite.com", you would probably want to make your Website Name "How to Build a Website". This can be changed after the fact if you want.

You will then choose the "look" of your website by choosing your website theme. You can search through the database of over 1,400 themes and choose the one that best fits you. This can also be changed later.

Almost done. Click "Next Step" (button shown below).

The final step is simply to review the website you are about to create before it is actually create. Review your settings and then if everything looks good to go, click the "Build Website" button.

Upon building your website, it could take up to a few minutes to completely install and create. When it is done, you will be given your login details where you can then start editing and building content on your website.

It is as easy as this to create a website!
