Here you will see an example of something that many of us will come across at some point when reviewing online products. This example shows a comment that has no doubt come from the creator of a product that I was reviewing at the time.

It would have been easy to simply delete this comment. But as you will see there is nothing offensive here and as a result of receiving this I was able to add quite a substantial amount of content to my review.

In fact, this comment helped me climb to the No.1 spot in Google for the keyword that I was targeting.

What a great training Andrew.
I'm definitely going to bookmark this one. I haven't had any negative comments as yet, but my sites are all young in terms of traffic and content. I must admit this is one thing I have always been a bit scared to have to deal with. Your answers were brilliant. It makes me less afraid to receive comments such as these now. Thank you

Hi there. Yeah, when your sites are young you tend to get hardly any of this sort of thing. But what I found is that the more top ranking pages you have the more competition you get and that's when the negative comments start to come in. Don't be afraid though because most of the time these comments will help your blog. Getting organic comments means that you are definitely on the right tracks.

Any comment is better than no comment. You did all that was right to do in these cases. Those are great examples, I shall direct people to have a look when such an issue appears here.

Thank you! By all means, please feel free to share this training with anyone. You are right in what you are saying, any comment is better than no comment at all, apart from if its duplicate spam. Those are the only comments that I delete, and even then I sometimes try to "edit" them appropriately.

Good Morning Andrew,

I want to give you a 10+ for this post. You handled all these comments very well indeed. You remained polite but let nobody walk over you. Well done!

Greetings from the UK Taetske. And for once it's sunny here today! Although I'm sure its not as sunny as where you are!

Thanks for your comments on this training, I very much appreciate it. I always believe that being polite and direct is a good way to deal with these negative people. So thank you for picking up on that.

Take care,

Andrew

Great advice Andrew
As website owners we need to use comments to our advantage, and your style of replies is a great example for others.
I would never delete a comment, just work out an appropriate reply, as comments are 'gold nuggets' to me.
Cheers

Yes indeed! The only time that I ever delete comments is when they are quite clearly spam. I don't want duplicate content on my site and so in some cases I do delete comments, but it's very rare.

Thank you for your thoughts, I really appreciate it.

Regards,

Andrew
