This video will show you how to compress an 8.2 MB image to 116.7 KB using two programs with a 4 step process, and yes, for free. This is a saving of 8.08 MB on one image alone. This is the method I use to reduce the load off my website and at the same time retain good quality images and fast page speed.

The original Dreamstime image of the photo above is 8.2 MB or 8200 KB. And the image you see above is only 116.7 KB. Optimizing and compressing is done through four stages and by two different software programs. And the actual percentage compression is more than 98% from the original image.

I have been using this method, after experimenting for some time, and find it to be the most effective.

On my home page opalsnjewels, com I have 21 images that were totalling around 97 MB. Using my 4 step process saved me more than 90 MB on my home page. This method reduced the images from around 97 MB to only 1.23 MB.

I have experimented and played around with many programs but nothing has given me the results like this does and I hope it can help our Wealthy Affiliate community.

Hi Brad

WOW - Well done! Thank you for this! I had a method of doing it, and although it was quicker - the result wasn't as good as yours. So guess what? I'm adopting your method from now on. ;-)

Thank you for helping me along my success journey! ;-) It says we take a little bit of each other wherever we go... So I'm taking your mousse recipe and your compression method with me - thank you!

With much gratitude!

LOL! Is that what happens to the mousse in a draught, Brad? Similar to when the cows starts producing powdered milk? ;-) LOL!

ha ha. In the case with China the cows were producing melamine. Hmmm, I wonder what the cows were eating?

hehe - Oops! Yeah, I know!
Well, it is raining here (again) or more correctly "still". So no drought in sight here! ;-)
May you enjoy a lovely day, Brad!

Thank you. It is all about page speed and if you have many images on a page you need everything you can get to save the load.

Thanks Oyz, when you have many images you need everything you can get. By going that extra program for compression that saves 15 MB for 30 images on a single page.
And anything over 5 MB you have to pay for, so the first program reduces it down to 657 KB the Tiny kicks in. I haven't found any compression tool that can get these results.
