How to report Spam at Wealthy Affiliate? Here are some of the questions that will be answered in this training:
1. How to report a post as spam?
2. How to report a comment in Live chat as spam?
3. How to report a comment on a post or training as spam?
4. How to report a Private Message as Spam?
It is a true marvel that on a platform where we learn everything about affiliate marketing, we’re not spammed. From the beginning, Kyle and Carson have played a very important role in this accomplishment. And all of us are reaping the benefits.
They have set the mechanisms to refrain this type of behavior. But truth be said, all of us have a shared responsibility maintaining this beneficial condition.
Whenever we arrive at a new place, we want to be careful not to break any of the existing rules. We don’t want to disrupt the order that has been established. One of Wealthy Affiliate’s great assets is its community. And it operates under a set of established rules that make interaction among all of us a very pleasant experience. You may be acquainted with Wealthy Affiliate’s official rules, but just in case you’re not, I know you’d love to take a look at them by clicking here.
There is one rule in particular that characterizes Wealthy Affiliate. “Spam is a NO, NO” stands out in neon lights. And it’s a comfort to enjoy the enforcement of it. However, considering the rare occasions when I’ve seen people leaving external links, violating the WA rule, I have come to conclude that not all have the same intention. To my belief, spam inside Wealthy Affiliate comes in two forms:
a.) People who have joined the platform with the sole intention of promoting their products: they could do it abruptly just from the start, right after joining. Or they could wait a couple of days (gain a bit of following) and then subtly start their promotions. In both cases, these persons know exactly what they do and have a clear goal in mind.
b.) People who have just started at Wealthy Affiliate and don’t have any background knowledge concerning affiliate marketing: it’s quite frequent to see dear fellow members that have just joined posting the URL to their site on posts or on LiveChat inviting other members to go visit them (mostly asking for comments or feedback). But it’s done because they don’t know the rules. We should explain them (being sensitive) that there are some rules in place that must be followed. But I believe they should not be treated as spammers (because they really are not). With most of these members, just a kind reference will be enough to never see them breaking this rule again.
Just a quick review of the context in which the external link has been placed here at WA, may indicate us if the person pertains to Group A or Group B.
I know that sooner or later, as you use the Wealthy Affiliate platform, you will come across occasions where the correct thing to do is report spam. And there will also be occasions when you can just make a kind reminder and amend the situation.
You could also opt to see spamming activity inside the platform and just act as if nothing were happening. But this affects us all. If you have taken this stance until now, please consider this:
- We come to Wealthy Affiliate to learn. Spam alters the natural balance in the information we receive.
- Reporting spam is super quick and it is secret: it really takes a second to click the “Report Spam” button.
- If Wealthy Affiliate is spam free, it will be easier for you to promote WA at your site.
The end goal is to be immersed in a spam free environment that constitutes a constructive and pleasant experience for all. Let’s contribute to preserve this. If you come across a person spamming, here are the ways you can report it, depending on where the spamming takes place.
I do see lots of people putting their URL in posts but know it is out of ignorance rather than actual spam.
I will own up to doing nothing with these either, so I guess I am complicit in allowing it.
I will from here on in either kindly remind the person of the rules or report the spam
I hope lots of us read this training because it is important.
With Grace and Gratitude
Karen
