Preventing Your Links from Disappearing
In reality, there aren't any measures you can put in place to prevent them from disappearing. The best you could do is reducing the impact they have on your site. An ideal solution would be to have an active link building plan and follow it through.
- Build high-quality content that anyone would want to link their sites to
- Explore guest blogging opportunities to reach new audiences and link back to your site
- Create content in different formats such as PDF, videos, podcasts, and links to your site
- Embark on an active link building and content promotion drive with each new piece of content you publish
- Create new content for your site as frequently as possible. The more new content you have, the higher the chances of getting incoming links.
Conclusion
Increasing the quality and quantity of your site's backlinks indicates the positive SEO health of your site.
However, there are times when your backlinks may take a hit caused by any number of reasons that I have mentioned in this post. Most times you cannot stop the decline of your backlinks; while other times you may be the cause.
But it is important to have and maintain an active link building plan. That's the way to prevent declining backlinks and also build up your backlink portfolio.
