PAGE 3: How to use a long tail when page title is one word

PAGE 4: Why using Save Draft makes everything easier

If you don’t know it already, the placement of your target keyword in your page title will greatly enhance your page and post rankings in Google. Though it is not mandatory that a keyword appears in the title, I am pretty sure many of us strive for it. But did you know that where it appears in the title can greatly help?

KEYWORD PLACEMENT IN TITLE

The closer to the beginning of your page or post title your keyword appears the better and if you can make the entire title to be the keyword that is the best scenario. However getting your keyword as the actual title can be difficult sometimes, especially if you want to use a long tail keyword. In just a bit I will show you how I get a long tail keyword into my title when the title is only one word.

I personally do not have any problems using long tail keywords as my entire title when I am publishing a post, see above image, because I am not restricted in space as I would be with page tabs in the top menu. Because blog posts do not have that space restriction, is why the majority of my blog post titles are one long tail keyword.

Great tutorial Robert and it answers so many questions. Can a title be changed after publishing if the key words are still in the title and the permalink has not changed

Using my "Getting Started" example, I can change the keyword portion of the title as many times as I like because it is NOT part of the permalink.

Only Getting Started is in the permalink and what is in the permalink after it is published should never be changed. If the permalink is changed in any way it will cause a 404 crawl error when Google goes to crawl your content.
