Greetings to ALL from Adelaide in South Australia!

What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate Marketing is a type of performance-based marketing in which a business rewards one or more affiliates for each visitor or customer brought by the affiliate's own marketing efforts.

In terms of where the best pace is to learn how to start your ownAffiliate Marketing business...well...you are in the RIGHT PLACE as a member of the Wealthy Affiliate University!

Yet, as I wander around all the different areas available to us, I discover that some people still struggle to understand what this business is all about! And make some avoidable mistakes judging by some of the questions I read sometimes.

Affiliate Marketing is one of the most effective and powerful ways of earning money online.

This program gives everybody a chance to make a profit through the Internet. Since these Affiliate Marketing programs are easy to join, implement and pay commissions on a regular basis, more and more people want to jump on the bandwagon!

However, like all other businesses, there are many pitfalls in the Affiliate Marketing business.

Committing some of the most common & basic mistakes will cost Affiliate Marketers time and money. I have identified 3 of what I consider to be the most common 3 mistakes...

The next page is...

Choosing The Wrong Affiliate...

Thanks Steve. Very Helpful. Question: What are some ways to find out if a product is actually in demand?
Reply
SondraM Premium
When you do key word researches, products (product) catagories in demand will have high numbers of searches. For example, more people search for dog collars than they do fingernail clippers.

You can use Amazon to show popular, trending products.

Ally Express, wholesaler/retails website based out of China also gives you most popular items for different catagories.

You know, Steve, that is a strange thing, about having that niche experience, sometimes it actually works in reverse......

The trade I learned when young, was literally developed away technologically, and I had to add new training and new skills, during some bad economic times in the '80s. Then came that time where I wanted to experience my country of birth, because I had the language and the passport to do so. I had many contacts (here in Switzerland), and we all knew that industries and opportunities were more diversified here, and truth to tell, it was easier to find an "earning corner".

But it wasn't an earning corner of high quality opportunities, which caused me to stay more or less "put" in one place. I'll always be glad I learned that trade at the beginning, many skills, knowledge of materials and how to work with them, are things which belong to my skill set, and knowing by feel the torque required to adjust a wheel bolt would not be possible without my beginnings in a metals trade

Now, having a website for college students, I can write with passion about planning one's education and making sure one has a quality grip on the market. Getting career counselling. Watching future trends, and consulting with people in the industry of one's choice. Talking and planning with family and professionals, already in senior and even junior high school.

I guess I could say I've now the passion to help people avoid the pitfalls of not doing this, or not doing it correctly.

Thanks for a great training, and enjoy a new week in a new year☺☺☺

Cheers
Therese

Thanks Steve, another great lesson. I agree that first hand experience is the ideal with a product or service. But do you think that a secondary experience can help? for example.
1- The item was established already like Samsung Galaxy or Apple phones.
2- Or if you know anyboby who use it and have success.
The testimony of those who use it may be added as a mean of promotion.
Reply
Steve1958 Premium
I think it's a good idea to have all testimonials good and bad...
Obviously, if you had too many bad ones you likely wouldn't want to be trying to sell the product!

This is so true Steve, I can't imagine anything much worse than trying to promote a product that I don't like or have no interest in, even if it has a good commission. I believe that if we have something that we like and have passion for it, it makes it much more enjoyable and easier to promote and sell the product.

If the products compliment each other that's great...even better if you can bundle them up and sell as one product...like Amazon does! :)

Thank you Steve. Good training. I have felt sometimes like I am moving like a turtle; but I know myself and if I go any faster I will just go into I. O. (Information overload). I need to try just one thing at a time until I learn a little about it. Then I can go on to the next. People keep saying I should get this plugin or join that group; but I would get overwhelmed. I want so much to start another website; but I haven't gotten this one mastered yet. I'm reluctant to go on to build another until I'm happy with this one. Maybe it isn't so bad to be a turtle?

Happy New Year and thank you for the information, quite helpful. As a newbee, it came in handy. Although the last 2 weeks I have been going at this EVERY DAY 7 hrs minimum, and getting a bit frustrated, I am going to back down a bit as I do have another job currently, and I need to make an income, to support myself. I have what it takes, the problem, I do not have time to learn how to connect the dots so to speak, and asking the probably easiest of questions, do not get answered as quickly as I would like, therefore I have to stop before I go on to other things.
I will learn this on my own, no matter how long it takes, but I do need to work.
thank you
