This video training has one simple goal...

To help YOU understand the process of making money online.

It is actually more simplistic than you think. Although there are many ways in which people are creating successful businesses online, there is one core component to any successful business, a website.

In this video I walk you through the process right from the initial audience, to the search in Google, to the website, to the niche, to the types of programs that you are going to be promoting to generate revenue.

There are many ways that you can earn a full time income online once you understand the fundamentals and this video is going to clarify what the fundamental process is.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to give you a hand.

Hi everyone,
Im just wondering....Ok, once My website is up and I have managed to get traffic to it, how do I get companies such as Amazon and others to allow me to promote their products so that I can earn a percentage ? Do we need to make a contract for such an agreement?

Also, I am currently using my Samsung Tablet, Can I create my website using this?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Antonio,
yes, you can use your tablet to create your website.
You have to go to each affiliate program you want to be affiliated and you have to make a contract with them.

Yeah, you can promote any product within Amazon when you join their associates (affiliate) program, the % will vary from product category to category.

You should be able to use your tab like Alexandra said, ideally though for efficiency you would have a bluetooth keyboard.

Good video,
However, I am not quite sure I am understanding just exactly what a Niche is...
Can you please explain what this is, and also how does it work when someone advertises a Blender (per say) that Amazon is selling, but someone purchased this blender from your website...how exactly does a!mzon know to pay proceeds from this sale to you and your website for the sale?
Reply
NevilleV Premium
A niche is the particular interest of category. In other words. Cellular Phones is one niche and Car Accessories is another. You want to choose a particular niche so you dont confuse google as to what exactly you are on about.

When you advertise the blender on your website you are actually linking a picture or a hyperlink on your site with an identifying "tag" which you received form Amazon. Any of the links on you site that goes to Amazon will show up on your affiliate "tag" and all sales resulting from that click through will earn you commission, not just the product you are advertising on your site.

Hope this helps

My question is regarding building the website through WA. If I choose the option to create my own website separate from the "build website" feature on WA, will that work with the training and support offered? I am concerned about this, because I want to own the domain and hosting, and don't want to put in all this work and have the chance of not having access to it or owning it be an issue.
Reply

Yes, most of the lessons will still apply, but make sure you are building it on Wordpress CMS (content management system) as it is the CMS we are using.

I wouldn't worry too much about ownership of the website though, as the domain (if you buy one) is registered under your name and you can transfer the hosting away from WA if you want.

A lot of relevant information presented concisely.Short, Sweet and to the point without the fluff. This is my kind of training. I don't have the attention span to stay on the same task hours on end. I've been chasing my tail for 8 weeks now, so it is time to make things happen. I've come to realize I was afraid to get started because I was afraid of failing. Regardless of how good or how bad your work/ content is, as long as you do your best, your work will eventually get massaged and molded thru what we continue to learn everyday and with the help of the WA Community to eventually arrive at a successful on-line business. Like the great minds say "a dream will always be a dream unless you write out a plan, and work the plan"
Reply
Kyle Premium
It is definitely time to stop chasing your tail and we are going to be walking you through the proper process so you can start to see your business take shape within just the first 4 lessons (you will have a website up and running).

The plan has been written out for you, you will just need to set goals for yourself and work hard to achieve these.

Don't want to be a Debbie downer but I have, searched reviews about a few different online opportunities and now I find out there all B.S.. This is a little disheartening, I mean how do I really know I was not lead here by a affiliate that did not really know the first thing about WA, but only to earn a commission?

From my experience, this program has given me valuable knowledge, and a social network that isn't commission based. I don't think I could have learned as much about building a website as fast anywhere else. Learning something new is always challenging. Having a professional build one for you will cost at least $2000. Here you gain knowledge and it's free to start. I think we all started out not knowing much. That's the point-we learn. Many websites built through this program do not have links to WA. I hope this helps you.

Yes, you can earn money on the free membership. In saying this, generating money in the first week or month prior as a Starter is like having an your introduction course to becoming a surgeon and expecting to perform surgery within the first month.

The first month is typically your foundation building stage. In order to build a website that earns you consistent revenue, you need this foundation. After this, you are going to start seeing traffic and as you build this out, there are many different ways in which you can generate revenue.

Personally it took me into my 3rd month of busting my butt to make my first dollar online, by month 6 though I was making consistent income and by the year mark, I was almost full time.

But guess what would have happened if I quit during those first two "trying" months or had instant revenue expectations. I would not be where I am at today (going on 12 years full time!). Just wanted to put things into perspective for you.

I am in this journey with you, so is the community here at WA. If you want to jump in, work hard, take action, and persist.

You will have some awesome things accomplished by the time you finish just the first 10 lessons of the getting started training and you will be prepared to build a very successful business online within the Premium membership.

But do upgrade at your own pace and take action on the tasks. Action is what will lead you to success!

Yeah great simple explanation Kyle,
I can see how easy it might be for some folk with deffinate areas of interest or involvement and that the hardest thing for them would be to find a catchy name or such like for there site, and then go out and promote it. All these things can be easily researched but what about the guys who have no idea about where they want to go with there online business is that something you can help us with over time? Or does it just become easy to see as we progress through the training course,I think for some the thoughts of just becoming a scam artist might loom large in their minds,Is there a part in this course that helps us in these circumstances.Your help is always greatly appreciated

If you need help picking out your niche, you should go back to the lesson for that: Sometimes you may not know and will just have to start somewhere with a topic you like. You may go through 2 or 3 niches/blogs before you become comfortable with one.

This is another good training to find a niche by a member:

I'm new and currently working on Lesson 2. I currently have my own website in the home decor niche. Is it necessary to create a second website here using Rubix? If so, what are the benefits of hosting two different sites? Third, will these teachings here in Wealthy Affiliates be applicable to my website, Reinvented Collection?
Reply
GinaGo Premium
Hi Olivia,

It is not necessary to create a SiteRubix site. Keep in mind the training is designed so that beginners can get started.

However, it is a good idea to have a test site and so that would be a good reason to create one. You can just name it anything and keep the subdomain so you do not have to create a new domain name and point to it.

Also, there are members that use subdomain SiteRubix sites and index them with Google for all kinds of reasons.

Wealthy Affiliate is all about learning affiliate marketing, so I expect the lessons will be beneficial for monetizing your website, marketing, etc.

Hope that helps!

To answer the last question, without a doubt I believe you will benefit from the training here.

Some things you may already be aware of, but I am sure you will learn new things as well.

You can create a new website if you like using the SiteRubix platform. If you intend on focusing on Reinvented Collection, you can then apply the lessons to your current website.

As a Premium member here, hosting (along with many other things) are included. You can host elsewhere or here, it's completely optional. Personally, I've found the hosting here very reliable.

If there's anything else I can help with, let me know!

Hi Gina,
So sorry for the delay in responding to you. I just learned today where to find replies to comments on threads like this.

Hands down WA is a fantastic place for beginners! I wish I had known of this four years ago. It would have saved me so much frustration, tears, and countless months researching on my own. I strongly believe in this platform for beginners and was able to recommend it to a friend today who is working with It Works and struggling to advertise. I was pretty excited to actually give her a resource that would walk her through setting up her site and I could say, " Girl listen, you don't need to spend money right now. Just go there and if you want to learn more then sign up for Premium." What a breath of fresh air to be able to help people without selling them on buying something. WA sells itself. Despite the fact that I haven't signed up for premium just yet.

I'm curious about what you said:
"Also, there are members that use subdomain SiteRubix sites and index them with Google for all kinds of reasons."

This is interesting to me. Is there a place where I can learn more about the why's and how's of this?

Thank you again for replying, Gina. Again, I do apologize if it seems like I ignored you. That was not my intent.

Have a great week!

Hi there Olivia!

I am guilty too of a late response to you.:) I have been away from WA for a few days.

Check out Loes https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/loes. She has 3 SiteRubix sites. Scroll down to the bottom on the right side of her profile and you will find the sites listed so you can look at them. Also, you can ask her about how she uses them. I follow her marketing and she does market at least one of them pretty regularly.

Also, check out a post written by Dom W. You should follow both of these members. They are active and successful.

Wow!

This is a revelation to me...
Everybody is calling any program a scam without really reviewing the program, and often without reviewing it at all.

VitaliyG's website (HowToMakeHonestMontyOnline) is different. He finally convinced me that Wealthy Affiliate is what I really need, and he's the reason why I joined WA. I'm still a free member - but only for a few more days. I just want to be completely sure of what I'm doing.

And now, watching the above video and looking at Kyle's website (WaysToAvoidScamsOnline), I feel that I've been mislead for years by scammers. I've purchased tonnes of products and courses, joined many membership sites just to find out that I've been suckered again. Contrary to Wealthy Affiliates, these scammers are making their living from newbies (their favourite victims) to sell them rehashed & outdated products, and doubtful methods & loopholes. The few lucky newbies among their customers who become successful marketers are only successful because they've learned how to scam other newbies... and the evil circle continues!

Wealthy Affiliate, however, teaches newbies how to build a real business.

I'm in the process of detoxing my brain :-)
Excited to see what's coming up in the next lessons.

I still have one of my questions un-answered. Buying a mailing list might be a short cut to advertise to thousands or people immediately instead of waiting months to create a list. Why not. I have noticed that lately it seems that there is no to much of a strict prohibition for spam emailing because I get my inbox flooded with them and I have been spending lots of time sending them to the junk folder. Most email systems automatically identify spam emails and re-direct them to the spam-junk folder, where you can notice they are coming at time intervals, which means the persons sending them to you have not been gotten their email subscriptions banned. what is more, I frequently inspect the junk folder looking if some of them interest me, and I eventually buy things, that interest me or I need from them. All this means that even when I do not know the person emailing me a 'spam emal', I can still buy from him, if I really need what he is advertising and I do my homework, searching the product and brand on my own, before I buy it. About four weeks ago I received an unsolicited email offering a product that was very, very sellable for old people. I immediatlly understood that I could make a lot of money selling that item, but at that moment I was in a hurry doing something else, very important, that I spammed and reported it. Now I regret to have reported it, because I feel that product might be a fold mine.

Why do we need to have a website, SEO our website and wait until somebody finds it. And this website is limited to only one kind of products. I have received emails:
a) From friends or acquaintance who tells mi about things I might be interested or want and there is a link in the email where I click and go directly to the seller and buy the thing. My friends or acquaintances get paid the commission. I have bought stuff this way and my friends do not even have a website. I understand that the number of emails in my friend's list is limited, but he can advertise and sell whatever he wants without a website and Also

b) What if you use a pre-prepared email list to use in email campaigns? In this case you can use this list to advertise many products and without a website again.
c) I have another friend who has a blog in which he writes interesting things and whenever he emails me, the link to his blog is at the bottom of the email. I often open his blog, by curiosity and find links to products he is advertising on his blog. If they interest me I might buy them. Some people make money blogging and they advertise their blogs through emails or otherwise. There are people who follows those blogs because the topics interests them and continue buying.

Yes, email marketing is a big part of a successful online business. Your website or blog is what is going to help to establish you as an authority in your niche. You will have forms on your website or blog where visitors can sign up for your email list. You can then email them with offers or new posts. The important part to remember in email marketing is that you must establish a relationship with your list. You mentioned that you have bought things through friends affiliate links. That is how a list works. You are much more likely to buy from a friend than a stranger. Your website or blog will help your visitors to get to know you a little before they sign up.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. The only problem is that creating a profitable email list will take a lot of time, may be months. Another thing is that besides Civil Engineering topics I might be an authority, I do not have an idea what other things, even if I am passionate, I might become an authority to get people interested. I never devoted too much time to my hobbies because life goes by so fast in USA that you never have time for anything besides your work, your home and family, your church and friends. A lot of research will be needed which means time again which we never have.
Reply
JVanDerLaan Premium
Yes, it will take time. You will be building a business. There is no way to do it quickly. It takes hard work, dedication and time.

You may be surprised at the things you could be considered an authority at. Maybe it will have to do with your family, or friends, or church.

Go through the training step by step and see where it takes you.

It depends partly on Avon's terms of service. If they don't mind you promoting affiliate products alongside your Avon products, you can do both in one place. But there would also be a lot of value in having one page that is somewhat "product" oriented (Avon) and another that is more content-oriented (tips, etc.) and having the content-oriented page occasionally push people over to your product page.

Just wondering where the balance with this is - promoting lots of products within your "niche", or limiting that and having more than one niche. The reason I ask is that obviously you would have to have some knowledge of what you are selling .........and if you weren't that knowledgable there must be a certain amount of research that must be done - I'm thinking more research for different niches than maybe research for different products in the same niche
Reply
steveo5770 Premium
Pros and cons to each approach. If you offer a wide range of products within one niche (one website) you are building a lot of authority with that site.

At the same time, there's nothing wrong with diversifying your business by targeting different niches with different sites.

I am a fan of building 1 good site before moving on to building the next.

Just offering 1 perspective :)

You can promote as many affiliate programs on your website as you like.

Over time you will likely be promoting many different products/services on your website and this will take place as your build out content and you see a good match between an audience and a product.

Remember, your role as an affiliate is to connect your traffic (an audience) with a product or service that will benefit them. This will be based on the context and relevance of the content.

Drop shipping is related to affiliate marketing - in affiliate marketing, the company does all the payment processing and order fulfillment.

If the website is a Wordpress site, it's fairly easy - back it up at its current location - update the DNS to point to WA and then restore the site to SiteRubix. If it is a website that was built using traditional HTML, etc., it's not transferrable and you'll need to rebuild it here.

Probably getting ahead of myself and will get the answer further into the lessons but just in case not here is my 2 questions.
1 - Is a niche another word for Category? Like if i am into bird watching and feeding them etc then a niche would be wild bird supplies?
2 - Is a site that is focused on 1 niche better than joining a place like commission junction and carrying a wide variety of products?
Reply
steveo5770 Premium
Actually, a niche is one part of a broader category. Bird watching would be 1 niche, bird supplies would be another.

It is best to focus on one niche a ta time when you're new and there are multiple products and/or services that you can promote in almost any niche.

What I got out of this is that you have a audience of people who are looking for a product than they come across an article on Facebook or do a Google search. find your website link with an answer to their problem and you offer the solution on the website and get a percent of the sale.

I've tried MLM and didn't have much success at all with that. It's too complicated because much of it isn't tied to the internet - at least that's my opinion. It involves more direct sales. I say let the internet work for you. My goal is to get a smooth website going. I tend to be a little particular about the design, etc.

I don't need I be "rich"... I just want to be comfortable. However,
If 'Rich' came knocking on my door one morning, I wouldn't hesitate letting "him" in IF the opportunity was Honest, Something I felt like I Had Control Of, and an Opportunity that Wasn't Hanging On Anyone's* Misfortune. I don't have any children, but I'm not married or in a relationship either so I support myself By myself. Coming up with over $1,000 / month to pay rent and bills is difficult. Especially making only $11.00/ hour. I have a 2.5 yr old niece and another (niece or nephew, I think nephew!) on the way, and I just want to know they'll be cared for if/when anything should happen. Truly cared for... That's all I want.

If you don't focus on "being rich" you are way more likely to get to a state of being rich in your life. If you build a business with the focus of helping people, as we have done here at WA and as almost any successful company has done, you are going to be brilliantly successful and have a long term business you are passionate about.

That will cover off all your "whys". That will lead you to a lifestyle where you love going to work every day and you can work from wherever you like.

Thanks Kyle. Honestly, more often than not, I've gotten stuck with where I want to go in my future and lulled out so many times because what my heart wants to do is change all the things I can see now that I feel are so unjust about the world because I've lived through it firsthand. That's why I struggled with this for so long in the beginning, I kept messaging people in the beginning kind of looking for help, because all the things I'm most passionate about are related to the hardships I've endured - not exactly marketable and profitable business. At least not without having a "brand" attached to my name.... Which clearly I don't. Maybe some day. So now that I think I've figured out my niche, I still need to run it through some searches and see if it needs narrowed down any, but I know what I'm building my first site on... Saving the world is going to have to wait... At least for a little while :)

Wow, yes, I have. Fitness is ABSOLUTELY huge! There are SO many people, in particular women, trying to lose weight ALL the time but generally they're trying the Quick Fixes... Like Garcinia Cambogia just because they saw Melissa McCarthy lose a bunch of weight on it... Bottles of that cheap sell on Amazon like wild fire and the sad part is these women don't do their homework first and spend a lot of money on something that's only 40% pure HCA (hydroxycitricacid) or in other words 40% of the Garcinia Cambogia extract. Another thing most people don't know is the woman reporter who tested the Garcinia Cambogia herself after Melissa McCarthy lost all her weight, admitted to using ANOTHER PRODUCT in ADDITION to "jumpstart" and "amplify" the weight loss effects. It was some time ago but I tried looking that one up on Amazon, there was only 1 seller and the bottle was nearly $100 for 30 days supply. Every time I have seen that same reporter's review of her use of Garcinia Cambogia - not one time have I seen the mention of the other product!

It's all schemes and I try to warn the women I hear talking about things like this! Anything claiming to make you lose 10 lbs in less than a week without changing anything about your diet or routine is scary and unhealthy! There is a huge need for online HONEST fitness!!!

Hey Kyle,
I watched the video and found it most informing. I must say that I took the time to click the link and view it myself and I say that you only had one affiliate product or service that you were promoting (WA of course), and this made me wonder is it smart to have options for potential customers to choose from on one website. Such as WA, Jaaxy, Webprocessor? Please let me know because I want to do it like that if it is favorably recommended.

Hi VWilliamsEl ,
I'm obviously not Kyle but can give you a bit of insight from my point of view.
If you have more than one great business or product that you can promote, it may be advantageous to do so. An example is a friend of mine that happens to be involved with two business ventures I am also in. He had a hot lead for one of the businesses, but it ended up that the lead was actually already a happy customer of it. He chatted with them for a few minutes and was able to show them how they could make use of the other company to promote their own business, save, and even create another stream of income doing it.

I tried to promote products from Clickbank, but the traffic issue was my problem. I could not get much traction. I guess because I was not using my own high ranking website. I was posting links sporadically sometimes using bought traffic and at times pasting links on Facebook without driving ads because it meant I had to buy ads I could not afford. I had no clue what I was doing.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Well the traffic needs to be the first focus and that is how to properly build out a business. We are going to be teaching you traffic before "sales" here at WA because without people, there is no point in trying to sell anything.

Search traffic is by far the best, copying and pasting affiliate links onto facebook is only going to lose your friends as this feels like spam. As you move through the training here you are going to learn how to properly build out a business, how to get and leverage the unlimited amount of search engine traffic, and how to appropriate integrate affiliate promotions into your site.

Dumb question alert!!! In the video it was said a website is , not sure of the exact wording but something along these lines, imperative to my online business. Does that still hold true today? Must you have a website to be successful online? I feel like I'm not being clear, lol.I've read so many conflicting statements. One does need a website to steer traffic to....others say no, just need places to drop ads, if traffic buys from your ads, you make a commission. Thoughts on these two ?
Reply
Venessa004 Premium
Well my thoughts on having an online business is that it will be beneficial. Everything now-a-days is based online; whether it be social media or business it's pretty much dominating the consumer world. Also it's more convenient for people and it's a good way to start making passive income.

Yes, if you want to build a business online you should have a website. That is the foundation for your business. It is tough to build a skyscraper without a solid foundation...anyone telling you otherwise is feeding you a line.

Traffic buys, ad dropping, those aren't effective ways of building a business. You are going to learn the PROPER way here at WA.

So Wavebarr but I have to strongly disagree!. The inspirational niche is not only highly valued (and therefore highly sought after), it is also very monetizable. Consider some of those who have inspired me over the years: Earl Nightingale, Dale Carnegie, Steven Covey, Jim Rhon, Zig Ziglar.

There are also sub-niches within the inspirational niche that you might consider, such as, the inspiration to teachers, or writers, or artists, etc. For example, Dr. Danny Brassell is a good study as a speaker who inspires teachers; Zig Ziglar is a good one who inspires sales people.

I am sure as you consider (brainstorm) all the options in the inspirational niche, and become convinced of the value of it, the viability of its monetization will follow.

I hope this helps.

We keep it simple here and we invest heavily in YOU and the technology behind WA that you can leverage to build your business and make life that much easier!

Kayla, is that something you do/did as a job, updating others' websites?

Hi Kyle,

You mention near the end of this video that you only need one website to create a lucrative business. Perhaps you elaborate on that further into the basic training, and I will be looking for that information. However, doesn't it make sense to have multiple streams of passive income from several websites? I know there is a limit to return on investment of time to maintain websites but I am thinking of 5 separate sources of income as a base to reach my financial goals. Am I on track with this thinking? Am I missing something?
Reply
Kyle Premium
Eventually you can have multiple websites, but it isn't required. You are much better off within the online world being great at ONE thing than many.

But by all means you will be able to diversify and scale out your business and create multiple websites as you move forward and you nail down the formula for success. You can have multiple streams of income from one website as well, just to clarify that.

Interesting (and exciting) to find out that Amazon is part this process. The video indicates any product can be promoted on your website and earn a commission. Is it accurate to say that you get paid from Amazon in this case? In other words, it's not a product affiliate program, but rather, you get paid by Amazon?

This is a great way to introduce Newbies to the steps we should take to get those two million online shoppers to markets on our terms. I now know why I should be taking advantage of places like Twitter, Facebook and other media sites. Am taking a break to open up that line of communication... then its back to work here.

How is our commission paid? Are we paid a differing percentage based on what service we promote and who decides that or is every purchase a same percentage flat rate? Do we receive the same percentage of commission on high expense items like homes, land and vehicles? How quickly can we expect to be paid after the purchase is made?

Affiliate commissions vary by program. Affiliate commisions, other than WA's, are paid by the individual programs that you have joined.

Details on WA commissions can be found under the "Program Details" menu item when you click on the black/white airplane icon in the top right area of the main WA page. (Becoming a premium member increases the rate on WA commissions.)

FROM:
There are 2 billion people (the audience) online and these people are looking (searching) for things all the time. They are looking for information and to buy products. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking. You will be "helping" these people and earning revenue in the process.

hey manuel, how do you think all of those successful sites started? they all started when someone said i want to help my niche with this problem.
if you start with an attitude that you will sell a bunch of stuff to some people you may be in for a shock.
you need to find a hungry niche, with a problem that, when the people with that problem trust you enough to take advice from you they will buy your solution - not because you sell it but because you suggest it as the best solution for that problem.
within a small part of a large niche you can out perform the large sites by knowing and sharing more than they do. this way you can build a following and gain the trust of your niche.
good luck with selecting your niche

My second store is scheduled to lunch 28th of Jan. I am concerned that ranking on goggle is going to be the main challenge to overcome.

I don't know who to increase the chances of good ranking. I like the idea of good content. I have a blog planned called bestbuyforyourmoney. So my thinking is that I provide really good reviews on product and services. Should I narrow my niche or should I have generalised content on various products and services? I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, dropshipping, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know James. :)
