This video training has one simple goal...

To help YOU understand the process of making money online.

It is actually more simplistic than you think. Although there are many ways in which people are creating successful businesses online, there is one core component to any successful business, a website.

In this video I walk you through the process right from the initial audience, to the search in Google, to the website, to the niche, to the types of programs that you are going to be promoting to generate revenue.

There are many ways that you can earn a full time income online once you understand the fundamentals and this video is going to clarify what the fundamental process is.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to give you a hand.

Why do we need to have a website, SEO our website and wait until somebody finds it. And this website is limited to only one kind of products. I have received emails:
a) From friends or acquaintance who tells mi about things I might be interested or want and there is a link in the email where I click and go directly to the seller and buy the thing. My friends or acquaintances get paid the commission. I have bought stuff this way and my friends do not even have a website. I understand that the number of emails in my friend's list is limited, but he can advertise and sell whatever he wants without a website and Also

b) What if you use a pre-prepared email list to use in email campaigns? In this case you can use this list to advertise many products and without a website again.
c) I have another friend who has a blog in which he writes interesting things and whenever he emails me, the link to his blog is at the bottom of the email. I often open his blog, by curiosity and find links to products he is advertising on his blog. If they interest me I might buy them. Some people make money blogging and they advertise their blogs through emails or otherwise. There are people who follows those blogs because the topics interests them and continue buying.

Yes, email marketing is a big part of a successful online business. Your website or blog is what is going to help to establish you as an authority in your niche. You will have forms on your website or blog where visitors can sign up for your email list. You can then email them with offers or new posts. The important part to remember in email marketing is that you must establish a relationship with your list. You mentioned that you have bought things through friends affiliate links. That is how a list works. You are much more likely to buy from a friend than a stranger. Your website or blog will help your visitors to get to know you a little before they sign up.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for your reply. The only problem is that creating a profitable email list will take a lot of time, may be months. Another thing is that besides Civil Engineering topics I might be an authority, I do not have an idea what other things, even if I am passionate, I might become an authority to get people interested. I never devoted too much time to my hobbies because life goes by so fast in USA that you never have time for anything besides your work, your home and family, your church and friends. A lot of research will be needed which means time again which we never have.
Reply
JVanDerLaan Premium
Yes, it will take time. You will be building a business. There is no way to do it quickly. It takes hard work, dedication and time.

You may be surprised at the things you could be considered an authority at. Maybe it will have to do with your family, or friends, or church.

Go through the training step by step and see where it takes you.

I have just started the training so bear with a newbie question. I am an Avon Lady who has now went totally online. Can you do affiliate marketing on the same website as my Avon (I have an Avon Fan page - totally separate from my actual store). Or will I be building a totally separate page?
Reply

WA teaches you to build a website using WordPress as your content management system.
Reply
brandonacox Premium
It depends partly on Avon's terms of service. If they don't mind you promoting affiliate products alongside your Avon products, you can do both in one place. But there would also be a lot of value in having one page that is somewhat "product" oriented (Avon) and another that is more content-oriented (tips, etc.) and having the content-oriented page occasionally push people over to your product page.

Ok thanks Brandon --

Just wondering where the balance with this is - promoting lots of products within your "niche", or limiting that and having more than one niche. The reason I ask is that obviously you would have to have some knowledge of what you are selling .........and if you weren't that knowledgable there must be a certain amount of research that must be done - I'm thinking more research for different niches than maybe research for different products in the same niche
Reply
steveo5770 Premium
Pros and cons to each approach. If you offer a wide range of products within one niche (one website) you are building a lot of authority with that site.

At the same time, there's nothing wrong with diversifying your business by targeting different niches with different sites.

I am a fan of building 1 good site before moving on to building the next.

Just offering 1 perspective :)

Thanks Steve, sounds good to me - really appreciate that, thanks very much ..........

You can promote as many affiliate programs on your website as you like.

Over time you will likely be promoting many different products/services on your website and this will take place as your build out content and you see a good match between an audience and a product.

Remember, your role as an affiliate is to connect your traffic (an audience) with a product or service that will benefit them. This will be based on the context and relevance of the content.

Is it possible to have in addition to the affiliate program on a website can you also have products to be drop shipped? I have looked a several sites for drop shipping and was interested. If I want to do drop shipping should it be on a different site? This affiliate program looks very promising and I want to continue but I was just checking.

Yes, you can do this.

Drop shipping is related to affiliate marketing - in affiliate marketing, the company does all the payment processing and order fulfillment.

In drop shipping, you are responsible for payment processing and the company does the order fulfillment.

Yes, it's possible to have both on the same site as long as the terms & conditions of the companies that your partner with allow it.

Very interesting and informative. I've been using Facebook to link to products on Amazon, only for a month so far. My reach is over 20k, 800+ likes, only a few clicks to Amazon :( Now I understand that a website is critical and will be the next step. Also, have thought about affiliate links and WA has given me the incentive to take this step.

Yeah, unfortunately that is what is being taught by many folks out there and as a result FB is getting very much diluted and without a website you don't have a foundation for your business to build off of.

There is a proper process to building a business online and that is what you are going to learn here at WA. ;)

Video reiterated to me that I always have to stick to the basics rather than have a tendency to get ahead of myself.
I own a website currently that needs to built with Site Rubix and Wordpress. Can I import the site to WA hosting and build from there? I'm getting no marketing support and the control panel is poorly designed. Need clarity on this in order to move forward.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
Reply
onmyownterms Premium
If the website is a Wordpress site, it's fairly easy - back it up at its current location - update the DNS to point to WA and then restore the site to SiteRubix. If it is a website that was built using traditional HTML, etc., it's not transferrable and you'll need to rebuild it here.
Reply
DScollard1 Premium
That's helpful info to verify on my end.
Reply
Probably getting ahead of myself and will get the answer further into the lessons but just in case not here is my 2 questions.
1 - Is a niche another word for Category? Like if i am into bird watching and feeding them etc then a niche would be wild bird supplies?
2 - Is a site that is focused on 1 niche better than joining a place like commission junction and carrying a wide variety of products?
Reply
steveo5770 Premium
Actually, a niche is one part of a broader category. Bird watching would be 1 niche, bird supplies would be another.

It is best to focus on one niche a ta time when you're new and there are multiple products and/or services that you can promote in almost any niche.

Great to see it explained in such a clear and simple way, gives me more confidence! With online jobs I'm always aware of something being a scam and if is not clear to me what I'm asked to do and how that will generate money, I don't trust it. So this was refreshing!

I can appreciate that Madelon, most companies out there are in the business of making money at any cost unfortunately (in particular in this space). Not a day goes by where I am not working with someone that is jaded by the entire industry because of past experiences.

I can tell you that we different, we care, and we truly have you and your long term success in our best interest. Instead of me telling you though, I would rather prove it and let the community and everything within the platform speak for itself.

I have attended many webinars and courses that pertain to digital marketing, social media marketing, affiliate marketing, online consulting, and ecommerce. This is a great video for beginners teaching to drive traffic into your website for potential sales. First, you must pick a niche for your website. Then you can start choosing an affiliate program related to your niche that interests you and add it to your website.

I like what I read and heard on this video but will be be able to access a list of affiliate programs or will we have to do our own research? I understand that you don't have to have many websites just one good one to start creating an income.

You choose a niche and search for the affiliate program yourself. Its very easy because you can browse and decide which ones you want. You can have multiple affiliate programs as long as they are related to the niche and yes you can create a website an earn an income as long as you follow the training.

Like ChaSA, I signed up on 17 March 2017 also. The Getting Started lesson was indeed motivating. To set more specific goals for Lesson 2, decided to pause and learn more about the wealth of information and support being offered by WA.

The diverse opportunities for integrating training with practice at different levels and phases of learning needs are particularly impressive. The continuing development opportunities for keeping abreast with the latest in online marketing is equally so. My heartfelt gratitude to the noble vision and mission of the co-founders, Kyle and Carson, and the supportive WA community likewise.

To me, a new online vocabulary, or a new culture, is being opened to me for learning, word by word. With the warm and supportive environment all around, I have confidence that my learning goals can be achieved.

I don't need I be "rich"... I just want to be comfortable. However,
If 'Rich' came knocking on my door one morning, I wouldn't hesitate letting "him" in IF the opportunity was Honest, Something I felt like I Had Control Of, and an Opportunity that Wasn't Hanging On Anyone's* Misfortune. I don't have any children, but I'm not married or in a relationship either so I support myself By myself. Coming up with over $1,000 / month to pay rent and bills is difficult. Especially making only $11.00/ hour. I have a 2.5 yr old niece and another (niece or nephew, I think nephew!) on the way, and I just want to know they'll be cared for if/when anything should happen. Truly cared for... That's all I want.

If you don't focus on "being rich" you are way more likely to get to a state of being rich in your life. If you build a business with the focus of helping people, as we have done here at WA and as almost any successful company has done, you are going to be brilliantly successful and have a long term business you are passionate about.

That will cover off all your "whys". That will lead you to a lifestyle where you love going to work every day and you can work from wherever you like.

Thanks Kyle. Honestly, more often than not, I've gotten stuck with where I want to go in my future and lulled out so many times because what my heart wants to do is change all the things I can see now that I feel are so unjust about the world because I've lived through it firsthand. That's why I struggled with this for so long in the beginning, I kept messaging people in the beginning kind of looking for help, because all the things I'm most passionate about are related to the hardships I've endured - not exactly marketable and profitable business. At least not without having a "brand" attached to my name.... Which clearly I don't. Maybe some day. So now that I think I've figured out my niche, I still need to run it through some searches and see if it needs narrowed down any, but I know what I'm building my first site on... Saving the world is going to have to wait... At least for a little while :)

Wow, yes, I have. Fitness is ABSOLUTELY huge! There are SO many people, in particular women, trying to lose weight ALL the time but generally they're trying the Quick Fixes... Like Garcinia Cambogia just because they saw Melissa McCarthy lose a bunch of weight on it... Bottles of that cheap sell on Amazon like wild fire and the sad part is these women don't do their homework first and spend a lot of money on something that's only 40% pure HCA (hydroxycitricacid) or in other words 40% of the Garcinia Cambogia extract. Another thing most people don't know is the woman reporter who tested the Garcinia Cambogia herself after Melissa McCarthy lost all her weight, admitted to using ANOTHER PRODUCT in ADDITION to "jumpstart" and "amplify" the weight loss effects. It was some time ago but I tried looking that one up on Amazon, there was only 1 seller and the bottle was nearly $100 for 30 days supply. Every time I have seen that same reporter's review of her use of Garcinia Cambogia - not one time have I seen the mention of the other product!

It's all schemes and I try to warn the women I hear talking about things like this! Anything claiming to make you lose 10 lbs in less than a week without changing anything about your diet or routine is scary and unhealthy! There is a huge need for online HONEST fitness!!!

I must say that I took the time to click the link and view it myself and I say that you only had one affiliate product or service that you were promoting (WA of course), and this made me wonder is it smart to have options for potential customers to choose from on one website. Such as WA, Jaaxy, Webprocessor? Please let me know because I want to do it like that if it is favorably recommended.

Hi VWilliamsEl ,
I'm obviously not Kyle but can give you a bit of insight from my point of view.
If you have more than one great business or product that you can promote, it may be advantageous to do so. An example is a friend of mine that happens to be involved with two business ventures I am also in. He had a hot lead for one of the businesses, but it ended up that the lead was actually already a happy customer of it. He chatted with them for a few minutes and was able to show them how they could make use of the other company to promote their own business, save, and even create another stream of income doing it.

I tried to promote products from Clickbank, but the traffic issue was my problem. I could not get much traction. I guess because I was not using my own high ranking website. I was posting links sporadically sometimes using bought traffic and at times pasting links on Facebook without driving ads because it meant I had to buy ads I could not afford. I had no clue what I was doing.
Reply

Well the traffic needs to be the first focus and that is how to properly build out a business. We are going to be teaching you traffic before "sales" here at WA because without people, there is no point in trying to sell anything.

Search traffic is by far the best, copying and pasting affiliate links onto facebook is only going to lose your friends as this feels like spam. As you move through the training here you are going to learn how to properly build out a business, how to get and leverage the unlimited amount of search engine traffic, and how to appropriate integrate affiliate promotions into your site.

So Wavebarr but I have to strongly disagree!. The inspirational niche is not only highly valued (and therefore highly sought after), it is also very monetizable. Consider some of those who have inspired me over the years: Earl Nightingale, Dale Carnegie, Steven Covey, Jim Rhon, Zig Ziglar.

There are also sub-niches within the inspirational niche that you might consider, such as, the inspiration to teachers, or writers, or artists, etc. For example, Dr. Danny Brassell is a good study as a speaker who inspires teachers; Zig Ziglar is a good one who inspires sales people.

I am sure as you consider (brainstorm) all the options in the inspirational niche, and become convinced of the value of it, the viability of its monetization will follow.

I hope this helps.

Hi Kyle,

You mention near the end of this video that you only need one website to create a lucrative business. Perhaps you elaborate on that further into the basic training, and I will be looking for that information. However, doesn't it make sense to have multiple streams of passive income from several websites? I know there is a limit to return on investment of time to maintain websites but I am thinking of 5 separate sources of income as a base to reach my financial goals. Am I on track with this thinking? Am I missing something?
Reply
Kyle Premium
Eventually you can have multiple websites, but it isn't required. You are much better off within the online world being great at ONE thing than many.

But by all means you will be able to diversify and scale out your business and create multiple websites as you move forward and you nail down the formula for success. You can have multiple streams of income from one website as well, just to clarify that.

I believe it is better to become very good at one thing and fully understand the process of that thing and then you can multiply that one thing. I would start slow you can always go big later but first I would start slow just FYI. Take it or leave it as you wish that's up to you,

Interesting (and exciting) to find out that Amazon is part this process. The video indicates any product can be promoted on your website and earn a commission. Is it accurate to say that you get paid from Amazon in this case? In other words, it's not a product affiliate program, but rather, you get paid by Amazon?

This is a great way to introduce Newbies to the steps we should take to get those two million online shoppers to markets on our terms. I now know why I should be taking advantage of places like Twitter, Facebook and other media sites. Am taking a break to open up that line of communication... then its back to work here.

How is our commission paid? Are we paid a differing percentage based on what service we promote and who decides that or is every purchase a same percentage flat rate? Do we receive the same percentage of commission on high expense items like homes, land and vehicles? How quickly can we expect to be paid after the purchase is made?

Affiliate commissions vary by program. Affiliate commisions, other than WA's, are paid by the individual programs that you have joined.

Details on WA commissions can be found under the "Program Details" menu item when you click on the black/white airplane icon in the top right area of the main WA page. (Becoming a premium member increases the rate on WA commissions.)

Kyle I hope you don't mind me making an Editing Suggestion:
FROM:
There are 2 billion people (the audience) online and these people are looking (searching) for things all the time. They are looking for information and to buy products. That is where you are going to come in with your website and help these "audiences" by offering them information about what they are looking. You will be "helping" these people and earning revenue in the process.

It's actually 3.8 billion by end of 2017. So this number is only continuing to grow as more and more people gain access to high speed internet and have access to more devices (are spending more time online).

It is crazy!

So i'm sorry I've been lost from the start how is it possible to be among the top 3 pages of google when there are thousands of online marketers and hundreds of success story's& competing marketers out there wouldnt their websites always be on top? I understand how sending a bunch of emails with web links to your page would take people to your website but how does googling or going directly to the website they would like to buy from generate any revenue?

hey manuel, how do you think all of those successful sites started? they all started when someone said i want to help my niche with this problem.
if you start with an attitude that you will sell a bunch of stuff to some people you may be in for a shock.
you need to find a hungry niche, with a problem that, when the people with that problem trust you enough to take advice from you they will buy your solution - not because you sell it but because you suggest it as the best solution for that problem.
within a small part of a large niche you can out perform the large sites by knowing and sharing more than they do. this way you can build a following and gain the trust of your niche.
good luck with selecting your niche

Ok i see & understand that & i don't mean to be rude or negative in any way. Especially seeing how your professionals& my knowledge on Affiliate Marketing is solely internet research. Although, I don,t see how that answers my question? the more in depth i describe the product and how much it can benefit the buyer makes sense if send an E-mail or Facebook notification social media type. How does my website or page show up when a buyer goes straight to the main page? Its the only reason im still feeling sketchy about the whole process. Also, low income at the moment lol.

I have joined this program this evening and I am very excited and blessed to have found it. I have been researching how to build a lifestyle in this manner for 2 years. I have tons of ideas jotted down but haven't the technical experience to follow through with my idea. Thank you for making this information available without taking my money.

I have 2 e commerce drop shipping sites. Drop shipping from Wish,Aliexpress and new chic. I just launched the first store today after week of hard work putting it all together. My second store is scheduled to lunch 28th of Jan. I am concerned that ranking on goggle is going to be the main challenge to overcome.

I don't know who to increase the chances of good ranking. I like the idea of good content. I have a blog planned called bestbuyforyourmoney. So my thinking is that I provide really good reviews on product and services. Should I narrow my niche or should I have generalised content on various products and services? Feedback and comment most welcome. Many thanks.

I have spent some time breaking down the process in the most simplistic way possible. Success online is at the core a 4 step process and I have broken them down within this video: Broken, down, the process looks like this:

Step 1: Choose your niche
Step 2: Build your website/content
Step 3: Get rankings in search engines (leads to traffic)
Step 4: Monetize your traffic (the make money part, through affiliate programs, dropshipping, etc!)

This applies in absolutely every niche and as you work through the training here at WA, you are going to be walked through this exact process. This is fundamental for ANY success online.

If you have any further questions let me know James. :)

OK, maybe this is a premature question as I am only on the second video. To earn a commission from someone you are promoting, does that proprietor whether it be Jaaxy, WA, etc. have to approve that? Would I have get into some sort of contract/agreement first with said proprietor, I would not want to waste time promoting products and receive nothing back in return.
Reply
jmparfit Premium
Depends. To promote anything, you need an affiliate code. Some products like WA and Jaaxy give you an affiliate code when you join. With Amazon, you fill out the form to become an affiliate. With JVZoo, you usually have to request affiliate links (and this can be refused by the vendors if you don't measure up to their "standards"). Hope this helps.

Yes I understood the principle, but making it work is another level. My existing Network consists MAINLY of other Artists (85% Painters) apart from other creative folks and some few Network Marketing Champs or Bitcoin lovers (my new hobby). We are all happy to chat, network, maybe share - but buying? Whether it be Products / Services, whatever... NOPE! (Unless is something you manufactured with your own creativity and hands) You break the unsaid rule if you multilevel or try to offer anything within your circles. This is part of the challenge and my learning curve, to create this door breaker I call it my "Sim-salabim", within my own and new communities, something that creates cash flow for me.

People will buy anything if they feel it will benefit them, but they can see the benefits. Who they buy from and take recommendations from are those that they do trust and that is something that you can build within the online world through "helping" first.

Too many people think marketing is selling. It is not, marketing is helping people and showing them the benefits of something. You don't have to work nearly as hard to sell someone on something if you can build trust with them first.

Everything in the video I understood well except for the example shown that an affiliate can promote Amazon products on their website.I've done alot of research reading on many businesses out there and amazon is one that other affiliates stay away from, they write in their website and blogs encouraging people to do the same. The reason for this,is amazon low pay commission. Is this true or false?
Reply
Kyle Premium
Amazon pays 6-10% commission depending on the volume of sales, we have many people here that are making a full time income from Amazon's affiliate program alone, but there are 10,000's of affiliate programs out there and millions of products you can promote as an affiliate.

If you are promoting a $200 product and you make 10 sales per day on Amazon, you will make $200 (at 10% commission) per day. There are many people doing this with just ONE product, not to mention that Amazon has 460 MILLION products on their network alone you can promote as an affiliate.

It is just ONE affiliate program of many out there though.

Thank you so much Kyle for explaining the concepts and possibilities, you made me see amazon on a broader perspective now in terms of doing affiliate business with them in the future.

In the video, you used Amazon as the affiliate example, explaining that you could promote cameras or ice-cream machines. Would you also be able to promote a best-selling novel that another person authored and as long as they bought it from your recommendation on your website, you'd earn that commission from the sale of that novel?

Sounds very simple. Let me make sure I understand thus far, through WA we will learn how to do “affiliate” marketing / internet marketing in general. The main focal point is to getting your website ranked and driving traffic. This can be done whether you have your own or promoting another product with end result of income generation. If I got it thus far then I'm even more thrilled.

A simplistic old school approach, yet is still a successful model of one way, as Kyle has said in earlier videos, to make money online.
Also, as you'll come to know as you've been online for a longer time, is that you will have multiple other locations online like Facebook, twitter, Landing Pages, etc. and interconnecting them with links makes google like you better - your site will list higher up in the Google Search Results.

Hello fellow future millionaires, it's all about providing the audience or consumers with something of value. You see, they are looking for an answer to their problem or difficulty. All we have to do is solve it for them. So here's the formula, figure out the public's question, provide them with the solution, collect the money that they are willing to pay. By doing these simple, but articulated steps you will be considered a system expert in that particular field of study. After you obtain their email, you can continue to market to them and by this time they will know, like, and trust you, and will continue to buy from you.

If you have one Website, can you have several affiliate promotions on that single website? another question ,can you have a blog as your website and do the affiliate stuff on your blog lthroigh WA like I have seen on people's Blogs.? And final question with Wa premium do you also have to pay separate for hosting ,Like will I have to get a hosting package through Bluehost or something or is this included in the Premium membership?

Oh yeah, most definitely. You can promote many affiliate programs on the same site, I have had niche websites over the years that have promoted 100+ affiliate programs and that is quite possible.

You have state of the art hosting here at WA. The Managed Wordpress hosting you have access to here at WA is matched by very few hosts in the industry in terms of quality, security, speed, and support. It definitely is not a budget host like the other shared hosting companies out there. The hosting you get here at WA is comparable to $250 hosting packages.

You can learn more about it here:

http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/

You can host up to 25 of your own domains and 25 free .siterubix.com websites on your Premium hosting platform here at WA.

That is fine, you will be OK without Amazon and in fact, I rarely use Amazon within any of my promotions because they are on the lower end of the commission scale and they only have 24 hour cookies, which are amongst the lowest I have ever heard of.

Here is some training on how you can go about finding affiliate programs in your respective niche: No need to worry here though Melissa, you will be just fine.

Kyle thank you so much for explaining this process very clearly, though I have a doubt regarding the commisions. Do any of these affiliate programs pay the commisions through paypal? Or would I have to have a bank account with a US bank? Im asking this because in the Country Im at (Venezuela), our currency is unvaluable, and we dont have free $ exchange, so that quite complicates us recieveing any payments that have to do with any other currency. And they only way that I would be able to recieve any payment at all would be through paypal.

I was told today that Amazon does not use PayPal. Wealthy Affiliate does, it will vary from affiliate program to affiliate program. You will have to do due diligence with your affiliate program before earning commissions to determine their method of payment.

Hi Loren, Amazon are not the only affiliate program out there, there are many thousands so you can surely find one that suits your, circumstances and that does pay via paypal.

Amazon commissions are not the highest and you, may be waiting a while to earn enough to eventually receive a payment from them.

Any niche can be very profitable. The best niche is the niche you can provide a lot of information about.

Do not choose a niche based on how profitable you may think it is. People will buy from you if you help them to understand what they are looking for.

Surely it is best to start with 1 website and master the niche you are in. Once this has been achieved you can then create a new website for a different niche, etc.

Is there a maximum number of niche market that you should adhere to ? At the end of the day, the more websites you have the more money you will make ?!

To your first question that is asking for clarity, YES. You understand that.

To answer your second question, you get information form content based on your own knowledge or any knowledge that you obtain along the way with research.

Your website is SUPPOSED to be personal to you, so don't worry about "looking official" and things like that. Follow some more trainings and I guarantee you will start to understand.
