This video training has one simple goal...

To help YOU understand the process of making money online.

It is actually more simplistic than you think. Although there are many ways in which people are creating successful businesses online, there is one core component to any successful business, a website.

In this video I walk you through the process right from the initial audience, to the search in Google, to the website, to the niche, to the types of programs that you are going to be promoting to generate revenue.

There are many ways that you can earn a full time income online once you understand the fundamentals and this video is going to clarify what the fundamental process is.

If you have any comments or questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to give you a hand.

This video has given me a better understanding of how the process works for making money online using a niche that people may be interested in. The video shows the full process where I could understand it. I have been affilitated with other companies that did not go into this type of detail. It was not confusing at all. Thank you.

And you are just getting rolling here Jacqueline! We are different in a good way, we teach what works and we simplify the process and the entire technology element for you here within WA.

I look forward to working with you!

Wow that's some proper teaching there..... So loved it. But if I may ask, in that video you spoke about promoting other company's products like Amazon etc. If I want to promote a product, how do I exactly do it. Do i like copy and paste the company's link into my website or are you going to talk about how to properly do it during the course.

You will join their affiliate program. They are free and there are 10,000's of different affiliate programs online, and over 550,000,000 products/services that you can promote as an affiliate.

When you join an affiliate program, they will give you "special" and unique links that you can use to link to their products that will track your conversions.

In this video you have explained how to make money on line through commissions by sending those buying products in your niche website to a particular affiliate program. How about those that are simply looking for information and solutions to problems other than buying products, how is money made through such?
Reply

You can earn money by providing helpful information. In fact, this is a better way of promoting your affiliate site as people don't like to be sold products. If you give them information they are looking for they might share your post to their social accounts and their friends will share it to more audiences. Some of these people are looking for the same information but also buyers. So you earn income indirectly.

Hope that shed some lights.

You would have to provide a service or send them to pages that are selling products by affiliate methods. Info posts are there to give the website a more rounded feel (you are offering help) so you can send traffic to money pages (products or services you are selling)

Thank you for your response. Do you mean information in my niche website could be the helpful information someone might find in a solution to his/her problem, ok then, how do i make money out of that? Is it by resharing my post that i get that indirect income?

You still need people to buy something or click on a payable app (adsense), if it is a page you have promoting stuff on Amazon you will get a commission if they buy something. Info pages will only get so much traffic you need people in the buying phase to make real money. (product reviews or best of pages) Check out this training for more help

That was great!! Just like others I have seen the affiliate adds at the bottom of sites but never thought I had the experience or knowledge to get involved, I expected to be more for people with an education in the IT field. We all appreciate what you are doing at WA and enjoy the way you are breaking things down so that not only you but all of us can benefit and hopefully make a living from the internet. What an eye opener, just realized how I have been making other people make money browsing the internet and looking for information such as what led me to WA searching for how to earn money online and having the owner of the affiliate link whose work stood out of the rest of bunch of pop up searches contacting me immediately as soon as I registered with WA, is proof enough for me how strong online marketing is and works! I understand perfectly how I missed out on this invaluable opportunity, however I am glad that I am here now and it is never too late for as long as I live as in this industry age is not a limit, I realize!

Thank you for this opportunity.

If a customer sees that the link brought them to Amazon, do customers decide to open up a new web page browser to go to Amazon directly and purchase the product independent of the link? I know I've personally done this before because once the link brought me to Amazon, I decided to just buy directly through Amazon not realizing how affiliate marketing worked. So when I've done this, the person who posted the product on their website didn't make money, correct?
Reply
Vickic3 Premium
Hi Darice. From the experiences shared here in WA, once a person clicks on your link, even if they go to another page and buy something you will still receive a commission on what they purchase.
If they open another new tab to amazon then, yes, you will miss out, however by all I have read this isn't the case mostly
I hope this helps

Amazon and other links have their cookies saved- once someone clicks a link though your site, the affiliate link saves a cookie. If they were to go back to that site directly a couple hours later and buy something, your cookie is saved and you get a commission

Thank you Vickic3. I know I've opened up a new tab to make the purchase directly through the company in order to make my purchase safely. Was just wondering if others might make the same move as I do. But if the affiliate still makes a commission when this happens, that would be terrific.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, that can happen sometimes, but people tend to do a lot of research outside of just amazon reviews and buy things through all sorts of different sites, look for problems to solutions, etc...and this is where you come in as an affiliate and can earn a significant amount of money.

Good paced content. I’m a Clickbank member, built a website but got bogged down trying to figure out best method to funnel traffic and track emails. Is it possible to generate money before upgrading to Premium? I’m guzzling coffee n chocolate so I can finish the training modules ASAP.

Definitely possible.
However, with Starter account you can access to certain training but there are more to it. It's just like building a house, you have certain tools to start with but not all the essential tools to complete the construction.

My opinion.

Joe

Yes, you can earn money on the free membership. In saying this, generating money in the first week or month prior as a Starter is like having an your introduction course to becoming a surgeon and expecting to perform surgery within the first month.

The first month is typically your foundation building stage. In order to build a website that earns you consistent revenue, you need this foundation. After this, you are going to start seeing traffic and as you build this out, there are many different ways in which you can generate revenue.

Personally it took me into my 3rd month of busting my butt to make my first dollar online, by month 6 though I was making consistent income and by the year mark, I was almost full time.

But guess what would have happened if I quit during those first two "trying" months or had instant revenue expectations. I would not be where I am at today (going on 12 years full time!). Just wanted to put things into perspective for you.

I am in this journey with you, so is the community here at WA. If you want to jump in, work hard, take action, and persist.

You will have some awesome things accomplished by the time you finish just the first 10 lessons of the getting started training and you will be prepared to build a very successful business online within the Premium membership.

But do upgrade at your own pace and take action on the tasks. Action is what will lead you to success!

So really the affiliate program is unlimited in what you choose as a niche, right? If I wanted to start a website on Bibles, or Bible literature, I could promote several items.

Does this mean I could start 10, 15, or even more niche websites? Would I be setting up a blog on each of these sites?

It seems that a website on magazines, financial memberships, etc., could generate even more commissions. Pushing interest towards those types of sales could be very profitable, right?

Will you be talking about where to find the most profitable niches?

Watched the video and looked at the websites sampled. The 'pre workout supplements' website seems to have an option to become a customer to that website.
Where is this data stored?
Do I need to create a database if I wanted that option?
When customers are routed an affiliate site and places an order, who accounts for the credit to be accounted to my website?

If my customer is interrupted and returns to shop directly from the affiliated site and not through my site, do I get a credit?
Reply
Triblu Premium
Hey Steve,

WordPress creates its own database so you won't need to worry about that part... and it is stored on the host server along with your website.

When you provide an affiliate link that link will take the person clicking to the vendor's website so you do NOT need to worry about the delivery of the product nor the product itself. Payments are simply a commission for sending the vendor a customer.

Most vendors offer cookies on their website so that their affiliates are paid fairly. If you Google search "understanding cookies" (without the quotation marks, of course) you will find details on cookies.

Hope you find this helpful.

Is the concept to chose the niche which we are passionate about, to find the way to sell it (promo, reviews, comparing, etc.) that customers "need" to buy it from our websites , isn't it?

...going to the "online world through an affiliate links" sounds as only very perspective not only for the present but also for the future. My personal experience : all last Christmas shopping was done in Amazon O)

Fantastic video !
Thanks.

Hey Larissa,

Selecting a niche you are passionate about makes it easier to write posts about your niche.

As for sharing affiliate links... if you write to your readers though you were speaking to a friend over the phone, and then offer all of 3 affiliate links within a 1000 worded post, you will find your posts ranking higher, and possibly even find your conversions better too.

Here's my story: Hope you find this helpful.

Greetings everyone, re the above websites demonstarted. Would this person have developed this themselves after deciding to sell snack helmets etc or would they commission someone in web design to do this. I ask as I have recently initiated a wix website and a wordpress site and frankly, although the tools are there to do this and that, getting to where it looks as good as the above one would leave me at least initially spinning my tires! Exchanging logos for clickbank links and just the overall presentation of a great site isn't as easy to me as drag this and that here and there!

TL/DR Do you veterans just pay for landing pages to be created?

The only problems with the videos s that the pages you open in the video are not always clear, so you cannot really see what is displayed on the web pages, except for seeing the general layout of the pages.

I thought this was very hard. Exactly, well said. You are taking out the "shop" in the middle of the transaction, and as an affiliate site you are providing your audience with help/information/solutions before they make a purchase.

Your role as an affiliate at it's core is to align a "customer" with a "product", and often times one that they are already planning on buying.

2) According to the video, people get link direct to the seller, open account and buy direct, how we keep track customer email for next promotion. If we need set up landing page, customer may feel very trouble to buy the item?

1) Yes you can as long as it is relevant to your content. No issue.

2) If you are sending your clicks direct to the seller, you are not collecting their email. For purchase of physical product normally your visitor will be directed to seller's website. However, if you are promoting IM products, you can create a lead capture/landing page so you visitor will enter their email before directed to the sale page on the product.

Hope that helps.

1. Yes you can participate in as many affiliate programs as you like. You have full freedom on what to promote and how to promote it. Especially if your niche has many different sellers then it's absolutely fine to use multiple affiliate programs.

2. There are many ways to setup opt-in pages on your website. Your website will provide interesting information that will enable customers to come back to it and subscribe to your list. You may not be able to capture email of every single sale you make but there are ways to have an opt-in page to get email addresses. You can always add this element to your website once it starts selling and focus on capturing info of your website visitors. It can also be a pop-up for every visitor with some promo code for discount etc.. if they leave an email.

Let me know if you have more questions

Yeah, it is a huge space and affiliate marketing largely drives the online world and all of the transactions that take place (in every niche).

And yes, once you get the formula for success down within ONE of these niches, you can diversify and get involved in many different niches at once. Hi Viola! It's been a long time since I saw a post from you, great to see you again! The answer to your question on "where you get customers" is this:

Your niche topic is basically your customer base. Typically, if you choose a niche that has a problem, those people are easy customers. For example:

If you target people with knee problems, that's a niche and they have a problem, thus when you write articles on your site, they go on Google and people with knee problems find your site, come to it and become your customers.

Here's a tutorial I wrote on niches which should help: In regards to ancient grains, this is a niche, but it doesn't sound like it's a niche where the people have a problem, they may more likely just seek info on this. The question I would ask is, which type of audience is best suited for this particular product? Does it have health benefits? What are they?

Vitaliy, thanks for the response and feedback. My niche is a particular ancient grain but I wanted to include other grains as well. So I want to have Spelt as my main topic with examples of useage and the others follow that . My prob now is the headline. I have lost the basic how to of starting my home page. Yes I have been absent for a minute but I needed to refuel. With the time away from WA it was a time for introspect and so I have done that with added determination to continue to finish sooner than later. My intention is to have this site up and running with good clear information discussing the benefits of ancient grains. Of course it will take a bit of time but I believe I can get it done. Here's to my success. Hope your day goes well with success Vitaliy.

However, I am passionate about some subjects which can have many different niches under them.
I struggle at this moment in time on which niche I should choose.
Also, I trust there has to be someone in this community who had been where we are, and can give the right type of help and encouragement we need.
I just want to say hang in there, don't lose hope and tell yourself you can do it, whenever, you have doubting thoughts. Share often your struggles here. I know I will make great effort to share what I have difficulty in. All the best!

Yeah, there is the possibilities that you could sell 100's of such products per day; And there are many products that pay much better commissions as well, and many that will pay high %. Some products will average $30-50 per sale, some much higher.

This is the case in any niche.

Awesome and very easy to understand summary - so much clearer to me than before. Will we also be working on optimizing sites so that we can get higher ranks in Google? Also, will the sites we build be primarily to sell items (such as the snack helmet) or will the sites also contain information about a topic like many of the blogs I have seen? I am interesting in gardening and DIY home improvements, but don't know if there would be a niche there for sales vs. just people looking for information on how to DIY. Would I need to narrow it a bit?

Yes, Keywords and SEO are all part of the training. It is your choice as to what kind of site you want to have. Those are great niches, but both of them can be narrowed down some. Just think about what it is you want to help people do with either of these niches.
You want to help people that ________. Once you fill in the blank that should help give you a better idea of what direction you want to go in.

As another member has mentioned, probably the most important part of the training here is optimizing your site and content targeting low competition keywords, which again is all covered.

Your site can be both but the main focus will be on creating content that helps visitors with their problems. On those pages you should be recommending products, but you can also have a page of your website that's similar to a store front with links to all the products you recommend.

Hope this helps,

Brok

Good summary of how the process works. My question would be, while creating a useful, comprehensive website with lots of links to products, let's say we come across a website with a great tutorial or review for some of the products you are hoping to promote. What would the process be in gaining permission from the other website to link them to yours?
Reply
newmarketpro Premium
The best option is to contact the site owner. It's quite a challenging task especially when the other site has too high authority unless they see your website worth to be linking to them. Another way is to see if the site offers guest blog. Forum is another great avenue for link building.

But if what you want to do is just creating link on your site that referencing the other site, you can just link it without their permission but the link juice will benefit more to the other site.

My opinion.

Diane, I tend to overthink too and like to believe that overthinking is a sign of intelligence and creativity. However, it essential to take the training here one step at a time. As Kyle likes to remind us, success is a cumulative process. Each task builds on the completion of a previous task.

I have been in sales for years (services), in a capacity where I managed my own marketing. I really love the way you simplified the process, people really do over-complicate it.

On another note, I have attempted to do affiliate marketing in the past - one-on-one relationships with two different companies. I'm pretty sure they got sales off of me, but I never got paid. How does this system avoid that unfortunate event?

Hey Mona,

If I ever felt that a company did that to me (and I'm sure those types are out there, but few and far between I'm sure... as they would be outed really quickly) then I would never deal with them again. Simple as that.

There are far too many honest vendors available to worry about the one (or two) whose products/services won't last in the marketplace for very long from shady business practices.

PrettyLinks offers us a great way to monitor click through rates, no they could even be bouncing as soon as they arrive at the product pages... not sure how you could monitor that.

Some vendors like Clickbank offer tracking from within your account with them so that you can monitor your clicks and purchases.

Hope this helps you

I didn't do anything elaborate, like adding them to a website. It was several years ago, and I think I had the links in my business email, and on some profiles I had around - which did get a decent bit of traffic back in the day.

So what I hear from you is that 1. power in numbers and 2. some tracking keeps everyone honest. I can live with that. :)

Thank you for your response.

You're welcome Mona.

Just like there are dishonest vendors, I think you would be shocked to learn how many shady affiliate marketers are out there. Think their numbers are waaay higher.

Being dishonest... well, in today's world it's not long before dishonest people (no matter who they are) get outed by someone sooner or later.

I was wondering. using the example of the football snack dish. would it be wise to promote it on more that one platform? Like WA and Bing, Or would I have to be an affiliate on Bing, Amazon etc. just like I am on WA. In references to a brick and mortar store. I would want my product in more than just one store. Or is the idea to get rank high on Google so that it will show all my different platform?
Reply

Basically you need to create content with certain targeted keyword that get indexed and ranked by Search Engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing).

WA is where you learn all the techniques how that content you wrote get notice by these Search Engine. How to get people come to your site and read your content.

You only need to be an affiliate with companies that offer affiliation program like Amazon, CJ, Ebay, etc.

Don't worry - all these terms and terminology will become common to you once you are learn more about online business. And you are the best place and platform to learn all those things.

All the best to you.

Agree great video the football snack helmets site look like an e-store. Customers founded the site through organic search and buy the product from the site since is a micro niche am I right.
Is not a complicated process but we still need to do a lot of research and create a variation for the helmet to gain interest and right please correct me if I am wrong, do share.

Yes, they found it through organic and through people sharing this site with others through social media and news stories. But it definitely owns all of the major search rankings and did so very quickly.

This is what we teach here, and you can absolutely do this within any niche it doesn't have to be a smaller, but still large micro style niche like snackhelmets.

Your niche is not a product, it is an audience interested in something and within that niche you can and will be promoting many products/services.

You can and should definitely head in a direction like this with your business and something that is relevant.

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

The micro nich though...that's actually a smart idea. What stood out the most is when you said people like to show off to their friends and at parties . We do like to show off our gizmos and the latest and greatest. I'm starting to enjoy this more and more. Thanks Kyle

Yeah, that is an example of a small, more micro niche as you stated, but one that continues to drive revenue and has for many years now.

The thing about the internet is that you have the freedom to go in any direction that you like, there are many different niches (millions) out there and all of an incredible amount of opportunity within them. There are 4 BILLION (with a B), and this is your audience.

Interesting video. Probably jumping the gun but what platform does WA use for hosting websites? Or are the websites hosted on WA servers and the individual chooses the platform? I ask because I thought I saw Wordpress mentioned as a platform that's used, so I'm a bit confused how WA works with websites.
Reply

One of the features of WA is that your website can be hosted by them, which is included in the membership fee. WordPress is a platform for website themes, which WA is also using.

Thank you for your response. Just re-read my question and I sound more confused than I am. But I think I understand now - WA is using their own servers to host websites that may be (or may not be) using Wordpress. Not sure if there is another website platform aside from Wordpress that is as popular and as easy to use.

Yes, we host all of the websites here within our state of the art hosting platform. It is industry leading.

The Managed Wordpress hosting you have access to here at WA is matched by very few hosts in the industry in terms of quality, security, speed, and support. It definitely is not a budget host like the other shared hosting companies out there. The hosting you get here at WA is comparable to $250 per MONTH hosting packages.

You can learn more about it here:

http://www.wealthyaffiliate.com/hosting/

You can host up to 25 of your own domains and 25 free .siterubix.com websites on your Premium hosting platform here at WA.

Okay thank you.

If I have a domain elsewhere and wanted to move that domain here for hosting, I did not see the video or instructions for that. However, I did see the video where you converted or moved your .siterubix.com site to your own domain and in that video it seemed to give an option of moving a domain here. I can try to figure that out some other day and focus on the website I do have here.

I'm not sure why someone would want a .siterubix.com if they can just have their own domain so I can't see myself using any of the 25 .siterubix domains.

A product review website seems a clever idea, to combine it with affiliate links just right next to the reviews. It makes it very easy to the costumers and provides them a fantastic purchasing experience. BUT, how can you create content in a review website? I mean, of course, you cannot buy all the products you're affiliate with and write down sooo many reviews by yourself.
Reply

Actually, you do write the reviews yourself. There is training here on the site that teaches you how to write good reviews, even if you don't own the product.

The name of your website/brand is something that you are in full control of. When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

You can pretty much assume that every single product out there has an affiliate program associated with it. Every major brand and pretty much every indie brand. You can promote every product on Amazon, Walmart, eBay, HomeDepot, Wayfair.com, AliExpress, etc simply by joining their affiliate programs.

There are over 550 MILLION products and services that you are going to able to promote as an affiliate marketer.

In level 3 of the training, when it is appropriate to learn more about this stuff (in terms of the timing in relation to your business) we cover this in detail.

In addition to what Kyle already said, you can also search "a product or niche + affiliate program" in Google to find specific affiliate programs for your niche if you're looking for something specific. Jaaxy also has a section that helps you find affiliate programs as well for keywords you're looking for (which is related to your niche).

Actually Jay (webinar coach) has a webinar this Friday on how to search for and use lucrative affiliate programs but please if you watch it, just know you may not understand some of what he talks about if you haven't gone through the training yet.

It's really best to follow the training as laid out and then look for affiliate programs when the training calls for it as there's much for you to do on your site before you add affiliate links.

In everything we do we must be tactful. Some goods/services carry huge sums from each sale but these sales may be snail- paced and so our total grows in big increments very slowly. However, there are some small sales that are speedy and at the end of the day they total a bigger sum because they kept on inching forward all the time. So we need to be very analytic when choosing niche/item.

I am familiar with the product review approach to affiliate marketing but I was not aware that one could be an affiliate of the same product through multiple sellers.

This approach seems like a win - win situation. If the customer is ready to buy the product, the marketer is sure to make the commission.

I am an affiliate of Amazon which this is my second time because I didn't get 3 sales and of some 10 different other programs programs but whats keeping me from making $$ is putting together a great site or sites that will promote them. I have paid for a couple of my websites but WA has to teach me good blogging skills and how to make them good as far as SEO and traffic that I don't have to be in my emails all the time to get credit to earn a banner to place on my website. Reading the Q/A'S it seems we blog about an item we are familiar with, then we provide a link to purchase that item. Is this the general idea?

You will get there as you go through the training, the first focus with your website is to build out the foundation, the content and get rankings. Once you have rankings and traffic then you can focus on what you are going to promote.

There are 10,000's of affiliate programs and millions of products you are going to be able to promote as an affiliate, don't ever worry about there being nothing to promote within a given niche. There will likely be 100's if not 1,000's of things you can promote. ;)

There is no sense in putting to much thought into what you are going to promote until you have content in place and an audience to promote to. You will definitely get there though!

There are lots of them out there indeed. I can assure you that here at WA we are going to be teaching you how to PROPERLY build a business online and do so within any niche.

As for the money aspect..

Everybody earns money at a different rate, so it really depends on the person. I have actually created a discussion on this that will put things into perspective for you here: Have a read of that, I know it will give you a lot of insight into this exact topic. ;)

But guess what would have happened if I quit during those first two "trying" months. I would not be where I am at today. Just wanted to put things into perspective for you.

I am in this journey with you, so is the community here at WA. If you want to jump in, work hard, take action, and persist. Amazing things can and will happen!

Exactly why I wanted to WA. Everything in your response. I looked @ the others and just looking over them - what they are trying to sell..... Obvious it would waste my time and money. Then just to make sure I researched each one. Of course, there would be post after post from people commenting on them being a waste of time and money or them barely making a return on it.

When I found WA I researched and was delighted to finally find a real program, with real people, with real step by step training to accomplish the dream everyone has. That’s why I’m so excited about this and the training.

I’m doing this for me. But mostly for my husband. He’s a blue collar concrete foreman/finisher and it’s a back breaking job. I want him to be able to enjoy life, not be exhausted and in physical pain everyday.

That being said, now you know my motivation. I have so much more but that’s one of the core reasons. Besides I have to prove him wrong! He thinks everything is a scam.

I find this to be very appealing after running an Amazon business with physical inventory to manage. Basically, make a niche website that connects people to products/services they are already searching for.. then get paid for the sales that come through your links. There's beauty in simplicity... and a lot of money too from the looks of it haha.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yeah, get rid of the idea of inventory and in many cases, expand the margins drastically. Also, you can promote what you like and want (choose from over 550 MILLION products) versus trying to sell solely your own products and dealing with all of the inventory, support, refunds, etc that come along with that.

It's simple, yet the opportunity is far bigger.

What is your marketing strategy? Because you have a website, does not necessarily mean you have a business. So just be careful about that logic, a website that is built properly from the ground up is what will lead to a successful business online (and one that is scalable).

You don't have to use the website platform here if you don't want. You can use an existing site that you already have set-up with the training here or you can start fresh.

Sometimes with an existing site there may be some things that you have done in the past that could be hurting your rankings (backlinks, spun content, duplicate content, low quality content), so starting fresh and doing things properly from the start can be advantageous. But this is totally up to you.

Either way, I am here to help you along the way Jennifer!

That is a straightforward and clear explanation of the process: set the process in place, then "rinse and repeat" as the marketing guys say.

However, I must confess to being totally gob-smacked by the notion that people actually spend money on buying football helmet snack holders. Really? Seriously? People buy them and use them? When Kyle mentioned the topic I thought "What the hell is he talking about?" because I'd never come across it before. I'm shaking my head in amazement and laughing. That is the reality of the ultra granular and niche we are living in, and the sheer size of the opportunity online.

So in the money making process regarding affiliate programs I was wondering in todays world the most leading product I know people search for and want to purchase affordable health or life insurance. Can this be used as a niche and are there any affiliate programs associated in marketing this?
Reply
newmarketpro Premium
Definitely there are people who are looking for health and life insurance. However, you might want to identify your audience who you want to target promoting this insurance plans to e.g. retiree, certain jobs, youngster etc .. this is your niche market. Health and insurance is a broad niche you want to target certain sector of these people and not in general.

Do some keyword research on health and life insurance and I believe you can start narrowing down your theme topic which you can use as your niche.

Hope that helps a bit.

How about the low income families with disabled children or disabled themselves. I'm talking about the families who work a job for a living for a company or employer that doesn't provide medical insurance but make too much to qualify for Medicaid assistance. Because I feel bad for these people because they need this just as much as those who can afford it.
Reply
newmarketpro Premium
Yes, you can target those people - that is your audience. Now you have identified your audience and you know the problem they encountered, this where you want to provide solution for these people. Is there insurance policies they can afford? Where they can find these products? Which insurance company provide such coverage at the price they can afford?

If you can come up with these solutions, you have found your niche. I believe there are a lot of people in this category.

It is a potential niche. Go for it.

Just a quick comment. This may seem really straightforward, but the devil is in the details. I started a site back in 2008 for real estate. I was looking for LEADS not trying to sell as an affiliate. I took a quickie course on SEO and was able to drive a TON of traffic to my site. Zillow, Trulia, and other third-party sites were in their infancy. So, initially, I was closing about 12 transactions a year this way. I even did quite well during the first 18 months of the housing crisis.

After the tax-credit for first-time buyers ended, the bottom fell out of the sales market. Still got a lot of leads, but you could have shown people a mansion for pennies and they STILL wanted a bigger bargain. When the market recovered, I found that the big platforms had taken over and were eating my lunch. I was not willing to pay the extortionary fees they were demanding. I figured no sane Realtor® would and they would die on the vine. But the VC keeps flowing in for these guys. They aren't turning a PROFIT, but 10 years in, they still have money to burn. I'm just sayin'...

Meanwhile, the VC for "platforms" has gone on a spending orgy. For a while, I was able to cobble together a site on real estate and local photography. That worked until the "platforms" came in and ate my lunch AGAIN. They were grabbing kids who were photography wannabes and paying the $50 for a shoot that should take about 4-5 hours (not including transportation) selling them to agents for about $150. They had the VC to put together fliers, brochures, video, the works. Living in one of the most expensive parts of the country, there was no way to compete with that.

I have no illusions - this is rolling boulders uphill.

I have recently become partly disabled. (I developed a foot deformity that is causing a ton of pain) So running around selling homes and taking photographs is becoming less and less doable. I had been thinking previously in terms of affiliate marketing because one of the problems with the things I did previously is that there is NO passive income stream. This was high-touch, labor-intensive work. At least with affiliate marketing you are not running around like a chicken without a head doing things and then chasing clients for payment (slow boat to China in the photography gambit). That allows me to concentrate my efforts on building great content and a really excellent user-experience.

Those are my thoughts, for what they are worth. It may look simple (and in theory - it is simple) but it isn't in reality.

Hello! I just started the training vids earlier this morning and so far it is great info! Glad I found WA. Just have a quick question.

I plan on making some YouTube vids. What is a nice sofware/program to use that is also simple to use and free? Also what program was used to make the videos on this site?

Thanks!

Hi team! The video is awesome but I still want to know the following:
1. Everyone talks about Amazon but their commissions are up to 10% only, is that worth it?
2. Clickbank is one of the best (with up to 75% commissions) but is not allowed in my country (Angola), is there a better alternative for promoting digital products with such high commissions?
3. I've seen people making money with just a landing page and get subscribers? Does that really work?

Thanks a lot team, cheers.

1) That answer is subjective - for me, Amazon is not worth it.
2) Clickbank is the main distributor of digital products, I don't know of any other that does what they do. You can check out Commission Junction and Rakuten LinkShare for other programs.
3. Yes, there are many people who make money off of a list - they are typically content creators within the 'make money online' niche.

I agree the video was very good for the basics. But it generated more questions than answers for me.
1: What is the process and fees for using an affiliate?
2: Can anyone use affiliate sites or are you required to have a business license/number?
3:Is there a limit to how many affiliate sites you can have on your web page?
Reply
cramervod Premium
1. you sign up, you grab a link, you promote a product.
2. Anyone, some affiliates require higher traffic.
3. Nope, unless you sign up with an affiliate that limits you.

All of this is covered in the training.
Reply
littlemama Premium
Your questions will be answered in the training. Just keep going with it and you'll have a better understanding. In each lesson there are tasks to do, so just follow the training and do the tasks and then you'll learn how this business works and how your site will flow.
Reply
Kyle Premium
1. There are no fees to join affiliate programs. You will be signing up to them, then you can get all the affiliate links, tracking, stats, set-up your payment information, etc.

2. You don't need a business to build a website/online business. Down the road there are tax benefits to getting yourself a company, but I usually recommend that around the $100K per year m ark.

3. You can promote as many affiliate programs on your website as you like.

Over time you will likely be promoting many different products/services on your website and this will take place as your build out content and you see a good match between an audience and a product.

Remember, your role as an affiliate is to connect your traffic (an audience) with a product or service that will benefit them. This will be based on the context and relevance of the content.

--

And as Grace mentioned, you will be getting there as you move through the training. You don't want to join affiliate programs too early before you have an established base of content on your website, you will want to do it down the road (level 3 of the training).

Hi and thank you so much. I do know its mothers day but I just could not keep from working on my new baby(Big Smile). Now I am not having trouble knowing what my niches should be but I am having trouble finding out if the ideas in my head will be something I can earn revenue from. At the same time I don"t know if I feel comfortable putting the entire situation on here where everyone will be reading it. Is there anyway I could have a brief chat privately with someone who can answer my questions after hearing why I have concerns. If not I do understand but If you don't ask you don"t know.

I understand all that. And its not hard to find products to promote. That could be anything. Choosing something that is selling good. And brings in a good commision. High end products. Or getting in on some of the back end commision. Could involve some research. Finding a good company / product. that will bring you a good income. I have pretty much done that research. The part where i'm stuck though is coming later im sure. And that is getting the traffic to your site. Not just the traffic. But the rite traffic. targeted. Without buying it. Becouse you never really know what your going to get that way. And i'm not much of a gambling man. Event though it is nessasary sometimes to do that. But that is where im stuck. is getting ranked on google, List building for email marketing, The social media thing. And I better slow down. Im getting ahead of myself. Back on the subject. Click Bank is a good place to grab products to promote also. allot of digital products. That sell really well. Pretty much anything you can think of. I can go on and write a novel on the subject. So I better stop here. Thanks.

Traffic needs to come LONG before you worry about what to promote. The horse needs to come before the cart and here at WA you are going to learn the proper process of creating your business online.
then
It starts with a focus on your foundation, and then your audience, and then at that point you can divert your focus to promotions. That is the natural process.

Too many people focus on what to promote, before they have anyone to promote to. You can have a lemonade stand on a hot day in the desert, but if there is no traffic, you have no opportunity to make money. Make sense?
Reply
pilotspride Premium
Makes perfect sense. And your confusing me. Why are we talking about neich Well what we are promoting. And websites??? When in your own words. The horse should be in front of the website. shouldn't we learn techniecs for generating traffic. and then a niech, and website. kinda was my point..... and you want me to break down my hobby thing. How bout a store with only RC aircraft. Will that work? or still to broad. I think it should work. If football helmets for snacks works....And what type website are we doing here. for theme. blog,or store. I was wanting to do a store. But then Ill need a dropshipping company ect. Im just trying to plan my limited budget. I live on disability.

So much to learn!! I am enjoying the straight forward training and communication right out of the gate. Lots to learn, but that is the case with anything new. You are more than capable to learn this stuff, no different than learning how to walk or ride a bike. Sure there will be ups and downs, but there is within any business and you will help and support here from myself and the entire community every step of the way.

As per your niche you plan on pursuing, all niches have a ton of opportunity within them. There are 3.75 BILLION people online and we are all now more connected than ever. This is the audience you are dealing with the Internet and even some of the most obscure niches have millions of people interested in them.

You should read about this here within a blog post I recently created on this exactly topic:

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/is-my-niche-a-profitable-one

YOU make a niche profitable and that is why it is important that you decide on a niche that you are interested in/passionate about. It will make the journey that much more fun and exciting. ;)

So the gist of what I'm gathering from the training, thus far, is~ Its most beneficial to create several websites for different niches to affiliate yourself with? I was hoping to find something more 'blog-like' where i list affiliates per topic within one website, but that is not the case if I'm trying to go the best financial route

You can defiantly do "blog-like" website. To facilitate the, you must pick a theme that makes blogging easy. There are countless ones that you can select.

If you pose the question, "Which themes are best for blogging?", then you will get lots of answers.

I think you will find all you need here at WA for blogging. I signed up with a blogging company and was very disappointed in that people could not respond to me unless they were o facebook. That company charged more than WA and I did not get training or support.

I know you will find lots of people here who can help you without you having to look else where.

All the best to you.

Gosh! The training I've been getting so far since I joined WA two days ago has been superb. Hence I decided to upgrade to Premium membership level. I never knew online marketing can be this less of a hassle. The reason being, other online business models out there make online marketing feel like a nightmare. The most annoying part of it, I've been made to waste a lot of money after I've been made to believe that their sophisticated websites, lucrative sales funnels, animation soft wares, done for you system etc will bring streams of cash flow to me. In addition, I've been long promoting other people's blog posts since I started my online business. Because I felt it's pointless to create my own blogs. In fact, no website has ever decline people's blog posts I've been promoting. Surprisingly, Wealth Affiliate (WA) platform declined my post repeatedly as I was trying to post Dennis Wheatley's quotes and his image "The Psychology of Winning”. As a result, I was now compelled to create my own blog post for the very first time. To me, it’s a great achievement so far. I'm still new here, but I have been able to grasp a lot of beneficial stuff that will help me to be able to maximise wealth in the online world. I'm so glad your training is going down well with me, Kyle, please keep up with the good work. I'm also overwhelmed by how the community here have been keeping in touch with me and offering their support in any way they could be of help to me. My experience with WA so far has been unbelievably inexplicable. Thank you.

So wonderful to hear that you are enjoying your experience here thus far and you can expect a lot more of the same quality as you move forward.

If you were trying to post content from elsewhere, that is why it would have been declined as we don't allow duplicate content to be posted here. So that would be why, posting duplicate content can hurt a website's rankings and as you build out your website, you will want to make sure that you avoid posting dupe content.

Congrats on going Premium as well Sarah-louise, I really do look forward to working with you!

It seems so simple. I like the idea of not having to sell your own products. I once bought 100 mailboxes from someone that used to sell them but decided to go in another direction. After I bought the mailboxes I had to go pick them up in my truck but it took me several trips to pick them all up. Then I had to bring 100 mailboxes in my basement. Then after I sold one I had to pack up the mailbox and then ship it. Then if a customer didn't like the mailbox, I had to initiate a return and refund the money. That part of it didn't happened alot but it still did. Even though I made some money it became a little bit of a hassell.

Yeah, it is a lot of work to sell your own products, deal with inventory, outlay the money to purchase, and then carry the risk that you may not sell the product.

Affiliate marketing carries none of this risk or resources, instead you can promote from a subset of over 550 MILLION products/services and earn commissions for every sale you drive to the the company websites. It is a brilliant business model and an incredibly lucrative one. :)

First, I just want to mention that Kyle has a style of communicating and training that is very easy (for me at least) to engage in because of his easy manner. He does seem to miss anything even though his presentations are (again for me) relatively informal. I don't feel like I'm being preached by someone to convert me. And secondly, I "get" what he is talking about and I really appreciate that.

My first direct question about how to make money online (and I may be racing ahead - one of my historical tendencies that I need to monitor - is how do we learn to find business with affiliate marketing programs that we might join (relative to our niche)?

I am wondering if I am offering a product on one of my websites through an affiliate link, if the customer clicks the affiliate link to the product i'm offering and decides to purchase something else or finds something in addition to the product I offered would I get a commission for both products or only the one I offered?
For example, A customer clicks on my affiliate link for a protein powder which takes them to the product say on a bodybuilding website, they explore the site prior to purchase and discover they want a creatine powder instead, or in addition to the protein powder offered on my direct affiliate link.

Do I still get a commission if the customer purchases from the website my link took them to but not the specific product or do they have to purchase the product from my affiliate link?

It depnds if the affilaite has things set up so you do get those additional sales. To find out contact the affiliate manager for the company.

Amazon is set like that - if a visitor to your site clicks your amazon affiliate link if they purcahse anything on amazon within 24 hours you will get commission for it. If the person places the item in their cart but does not complete the purchse the cookie for that item now is extended 89 days - so if they complete the purchase you will still get the comission for that item

That is exactly the case for most people these days, most people are moving their spending online because they have far more option, it is more cost-efficient, and shipping has become much quicker. There are lots of advantages.

Affiliates are reaping the rewards of this. With every sale online, comes the opportunity for an affiliate to take a revenue split in that commission. ;)

Shopify is not the best start for any business, the problem is that you can create a "store" promoting products that you either have with or without the actual inventory (drop shipping), but the problem is that you don't have a proper foundation for your business or a source of traffic.

Unless you have a budget. Most people with the "ecom first" approach fail because they don't understand their audience and the risk a significant budget on advertising (paid) as that is the only source of traffic.

We are going to be teaching you how to PROPERLY build a business here at WA. :)

Two great examples of Affiliate Marketing. I have a question...in looking into a couple of companies I was interested in being an affiliate for, including Amazon, I found that some won't let you sign up until you have an active website and already have good traffic to the site. Amazon let me sign up but I got the impression they wouldn't pay commission until there was significant traffic coming to the site? Comments?

Hello Taresa, from what I understand some affiliates review your website for content and traffic. They will not sign you on if they do not like what they see. Amazon does the same but are not so strict. Where they are strict is you having sales in 190 days. If you do not have a sale within that timeframe, they send you a notice that your account will be suspended. If it is suspended, you can reapply.

That was my first website. With my second I am being a little more cautious and waiting until my traffic builds.

Traffic is key. Amazon will pay you once you have made some sales.
This depends on (1) the type of product you are promoting at Amazon, (2) Amount of traffic you get (3) Conversions you ultimately make.
Like Harvey has said you need to make sells within 190 days.

I’m not sure if this particular example has more than one type of product but this is a very specific topic and niche but many many websites allow for several different closely related topics and subjects .. a good idea is to look at other websites in your niche or similar and look at the different things they promote or write about

Hy Kyle, it's a very simple and straightforward process. I have just a quick question, I know I might be ahead of tune here, but in a nutshell, my question is.
Do you think it should be a good idea to have a second or third website with different niche?

Thank you Kyle.

Hi, you can definitely have several websites all focused on different niches. As long as you are able to create quality content on a consistent basis for your websites, you will eventually attract an audience that finds your content to be of value to them.

My thoughts as well as I like a couple of other niches i'd like to focus on. However I think that it's a good idea to get one site going, then as you scale that you can get your second site going etc. Just a suggestion.

Down the road you can certainly have businesses within many different niche, but when starting else you want to focus on just one niche. The reason is, you can be overwhelmed trying to create many different businesses all at once, before you have the formula for success within one.

While means coming down the road you will likely be building businesses across many different niches. That is the beautiful part about the Internet and the capabilities and opportunities it gives us all.

Nice Video and well explaining the whole process.
However, I have one question. Lets say someone visited my website and have chosen one product and get directed to the affiliate website (For example on amazon). Once he gets there, he change his mind and buy another product different from the one which brought him on amazon website. My question is to know if I will get my commission.

Regards.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, you will still get the commission there as it sets you as the referrer to Amazon. Often times you will be recommending one thing, and make all sorts of sales with another.

That is what is so awesome, sometimes you are promoting at $10 product and someone makes a $500 Amazon order (or through another affiliate program) and you get full credit for that.

Refreshing and simplistic! I would have to agree that laying out this process of affiliate marketing in such a simple way. That almost anyone should be able to understand. And I think it's bringing it down to the simple basics what that does in keeping it simple is that we can continue to move through the process because it's easy to understand. Cuz I do my mind and it's critical thinking always wants to complicate the situationperiod causing things to take longer than they should and me of thinking that I have to know it all perfectly.

Thank you thank you again for the simplicity! Keep it simple!
And not allowing my mind too complicated today
It makes it fun when it is presented this way as well because presented it in such a way that it looks doable!

Should your website be targeting people in your own country or can you target audience fall outside of your home country? Any affiliates out there having success with targeting audiences in other countries than their own also English speaking countries?

Hey Kyle,
I watched this part of training with interest! great, cannot wait to start. Have couple of questions though
1. Is there such a thing as a saturation point? after all you recruit members daily so how likely are we all to achieve our earning potential.
2. Can I build a website around my real estate business and drive people to buy with me especially as I do have a very unique program as a realtor?

Sure happy to help you with your questions here:

1. Is there such a thing as a saturation point? after all you recruit members daily so how likely are we all to achieve our earning potential.

The platform here is not about recruiting other people Into wealthy affiliate, that is one option out of millions of different niche is that you can choose for your business. There're 4 billion people online, any niche is far from saturated and I am doubtful ANY niche will ever reach a saturation point.

2. Can I build a website around my real estate business and drive people to buy with me especially as I do have a very unique program as a realtor?

Yes, you can. That is completely up to you. If this is something that you are passionate about helping people with, it would be a natural direction for you to head. Also, with time you can be involved in many different niches and running successful businesses within them.

Really enjoyed this video..just joined today and working my way through the training. This has really inspired me, I saw a video series a while back that covered this type of thing but the example sites in that seemed a bit outdated and I couldn’t even find them in a google search..these I can go to google and see them for myself which helps a lot and is a good example of what’s possible. Really excited to get more into the course and learn more.

Hello Gunnertwist,

Thank you for the info and support !
I'm still trying to figure out this computer while trying very hard to stay focused on all of this
training. It's definitely a challenge, but I'm going to get through it no matter how long it takes me.
I'm very thankful for all the support here at WA !!!
Without this community and y'alIs support, I wouldn't even be here !!
It takes me a little longer to process something that I'm trying to Learn, depending on what it may
be. So once again my friend, thank you and I hope that you have a very wonderful evening.

No worries, you are doing great Joseph. Nice work on your progress thus far and work through the training at a pace that works for you. By no means is this a race and the most important element is that you "take action" on the tasks within the training. That will lead to the build out of your website and success. ;)

This was really helpful and inspiring. I was a little concerned as my my passion is rather broad and with this training course my mind did not stop with respect to breaking the market down into one particular segment.

One question I have is it possible to have like one main web page that is dedicated to my passion (vision is to have own products, etc. to purchase one day), with all my social media links, blogs, and content which then has links to the affiliate products I recommend?

Thank you!
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, you can have all of that on the same website. As you build out your website, you will likely be integrating social media into your website, and yes, you can promote many different affiliate programs (products/services) from a single site.

If you want to run your niche ideas and get a hand with that as well, feel free to do so Susanne. ;)

PS. Congrats on going Premium!

Thank you Kyle! I realy appreciate your feedback.
My interest / goal is helping make positive changes in the world and helping others realise their incredible and unique potential. As you can see quite broad and only in the early stages. The main niche from this I wish to branch off is centered in personal and spiritual growth. I have my personal experience that I would enjoy sharing in blogs about etc and invested in a number of products I would recommend to others. I have only briefly investigated affiliate programs with some opportunities there.

I recently became a Herbal Life member and have thought of how even this ties into achieving our greatest potential for highest growth, all is connected and diet and our digestive health are key factors. I have access to these products through my recent membership and would receive royalties on products sold through my ID no.

This was intended to only be a short post as I am still just putting the vision together. Thanks again

Well perhaps you could take something like "digestive health" and make that your niche, you could definitely head in that direction if you wanted. Positive change is not a niche, this is something that you can effectively do within ANY niche that you decide on. :)

As a Youtuber, affiliate marketing is 100% engraved so I'm definitely looking forward to implement these affiliate marketing strategies. Now I know Wealthy Affiliate Marketing is solely on affiliate programs, however I would also like have one site to sell my OWN inventory. Am I allow to do that on this platform, given web creation options?

You can build your own websites and use them in any way you want. If you want to sell your own products, just do it.

I plan to do the same thing with my designs. The one thing is having an affiliate program is a must. they do the leg work on advertising your product. Just like a sale commission.
Have to figure that out in the cost of selling and make sure you have profit you can share.
pricing is the issue.

Great information. Based on the product you used for this video, can you have success promoting products without a blog? Just find a a good selling product from Amazon or another top rated affiliate and promote it. This snack helmet looks like a great example of this theory. Just a product that goes straight to Amazon without a blog. I'm diffinetly still doing my blog with a niche, but always wondered about just selling products from Amazon as well. Want as many comments as possible. Thanks

The snack helmet was somewhat special niche because it really didn't have following at the time that it was created.
In most cases you will want to have a blog..

Hello Kyle! You don’t have to have your own product to sell, right? You can promote products that belong to others? Also, wouldn’t you make more in commission if you were promoting more expensive products, like digital data? With the snack helmets, is that somebody else’s product that Jay is promoting? Thank you!
Reply
Kyle Premium
Correct. you do not need your own products or services to sell, as an affiliate marketer you can choose from over 550 MILLION. Basically every brand and product that you can ever imagine you can promote as an affiliate (including all major brands).

Within Jay's website, he doesn't own any of those products or carry any of the inventory, deal with shipping. He simply sends people from his website over to Amazon through an affiliate link, and collects a commission (6% on every sale), every time someone makes a purchase.
Reply
Sansa Premium
Thank you Kyle for clarifying all of that. So, you can choose to promote high ticketed items? You would make more in commission on items that are more expensive, do I have that right? Thank you!

I really appreciate the straightforward and simple way this is all explained. I was with another group that was teaching affiliate marketing and I was so confused I gave up. Your process works around a niche rather than just becoming an affiliate of every program you can find. Building a site around marketing rather than around a niche/focus/interest just makes NO sense to me at all. Your system makes more and more sense to me and I know I'll be successful in building a site around my niche as I build my visitors' confidence in my expertise - then I can offer products that relate to my visitors.

Will you were building a business around a particular audience, and if you take that approach and set of trying to focus in on one particular product, you will be able to establish yourself as a brand and authority in a given niche (the ultimate goal).

They're going to be thousands of products and services that you will be able to effectively promote with in any niche. That to me, to this day, is incredible exciting (and it indicates just how much opportunity there is online).

Hello everyone! I am new here and in the beging of the process. So I have three questions before I will go forward.
1)Can I use/create web-sites in russian language? Does WA work in/with Russia?
2) So, Am I right that I need to choose the niche connected with real goods are selling on Walmart, ebay, amazon etc...... So I like books and reading and writing and I do not have a chance to use it? Or I can figure it out how to link it to the books/tabs/e-books? Sorry for confusing and maybe stupid questions>,,,,
3) Where my commision goes (if and when I wget it, huh? To any Ccard? Or its paypal only?
Thanks to everybody in adavnce!!!
Reply
MozMary Premium
1. people have websites in different languages, it should work fine

2. all questions are good
you can choose all niches, outside of those amazon-type, he just does some training on that so you know how, you will certainly be able to use reading and writing - it is all about writing and research whatever niche you are in and you can review books too and get commissions

3. all affiliate programs have their own way of paying, a lot use paypal, some don't, so check with whichever one you are using - it you do use paypal then it goes straight into that account
Reply
thank you for your answers! so I would like to clarify for myself: will I need to find the contacts and to negotiate with the companies by myself? or I will already will use the approved programms?
Reply
HarveyBrown Premium
Hello Natalia, creating a website in the language you are comfortable should not be a problem. The only problem I can see is finding affiliate programs in that language.
Your niche can be in anything that you have a passion. It does not have to sell anything directly. You can however do reviews of some of the products that are related to you niche.
At the present time I believe Paypal is the only way to receiver your commission.

So that I'm on board with everyone else I just want to make sure I'm taking everything in the right way before I move on. OK....select a niche (lose stomach fat), create website, join an affiliate program like eBay Amazon etc, and earn through the affiliate link. Is this correct? And as for my niche, I would need to add in products that involves my niche right???

You are on the right track, and Yes you would want to add product's that coincide with your Niche, Make sure you have a fair amount of content on you Blog or website before adding affiliate links. and research the affiliate program you are using each one has different rules. Hope this helped VickiG

I agree, you are on the right track. You will be building a website though, with the intention of building it in a way that drives traffic to it. Traffic leads to opportunity and the training is going to be walking you through the process of getting your website ranks, how to get traffic to your website, and then how to monetize that traffic through affiliate opportunities.
