There are 4 ways to create a beautiful website:

  1. Installing the free theme that offers free homepage template.
  2. Installing a paid premium theme that offers several template.
  3. Hiring a developer or freelancer.
  4. Installing a WordPress plugin and create a beautiful homepage.

The first option is not so worthy because this may slow down your website. Some premium themes offers demo version where provide some in-build templates. Those templates definitely look good but if they slow down your website, there is no reason to use those. In addition such free versions of premium themes are often not SEO friendly.

The second option is definitely good one if you are ready to invest monthly or yearly premium fees for your webdesign. SEO friendly premium themes such as Thrive Themes offers drag-and-drop options to create a beautiful website, but also cost a lot.

You have to invest a lot of money if you are looking to hire a good developer in Upworks or Fiverr. A good developer can create good looking pages for your website in exchange of big money. In addition, you can't make any change there as per your wish, if you don't have the the knowledge of web degign.

I personally feel the last option is the best one because by installing a page editing plugin, you can create your pages independently.

Don't worry if you don't know how to do it. I'm giving a step-by-step demonstration, you'll can do it yourself.

The plugin I prefer most is Elementor.

So let's install Elementor Plugin first. I guess you know how to install a plugin in WordPress, but still, as a part of this tutorial I'm showing the flow chart below.

  1. Go to Plugin (see at WP sidebar)
  2. Add new plugin
  3. Search for "Elementor"
  4. Install Plugin
  5. Activate Plugin.

Alternatively,

  1. Download Elementor for Wordpress from their website, and save the zip file to your desktop.
  2. Login to your website’s WordPress backend.
  3. Go to Plugin
  4. Add new plugin
  5. Click on “Upload Plugin”
  6. Select earlier downloaded zip file from your desktop and click on “Install Plugin”
  7. Activate Plugin.

In the next page we'll launch a new page using and set it up to edit with Elementor.

Great training!

Currently, Jay is using the block editor as the latest plugin to create a homepage.

Anyway, my question is how do you move the blog posts to another page?

What I created using cover page of block editor uses only a portion of my page to show my recent posts at the right side.

Hope you or somebody in the community can help.

I believe if you are in the Boot camp training in phase 1 or 2 there is a training about plug ins and the back office that should take you through set ups.

Sorry for my late reply as I was away for a few days.

Block Editor is good to use instead of Elementor or Divi if you are not looking for any dynamic features (Meta Slider, Hovering, and more). Definitely, Elementor is one step ahead and a far advanced tool, but if you don't prefer to install another plugin, it's fine to stay with the Block Editor.

"moving blog posts to another page", do you want to highlight your recent blogs on the homepage?

You can use the Blogroll block for that feature.

In case you want to highlight specific blogs/ featured blogs, you have to add those manually using a different block.
