Quick tutorial on how to optimize your WordPress images using the Kraken image optimization plugin. Krak 20 images at a time.

The new website servers have the Kraken plugin installed on them. If you would like your old website transfered to the new WA servers ask SiteSupport and they will do it for you.

Hey Cory, I have a question about your settings. You have the "Optimize main image" option checked as one of the defaults. I just started my site in June and that option is not checked. Any idea if I should check that box or not?

Also, what does Kraken do by default? Do we have to manually go through this process to optimize images?

Hi, the way I understood it is that it does one page at a time. However, if you wish to do individual you can but that I believe would take too long.

Kraken is automatic and set up out of the box for you with a WA setup so there are no steps you need to take for the plugin to work.

The video was created in 2018, maybe the steps for Kraken was different then and now you don't have to do this.

Oh, right, I didn't notice the date. The plugin probably wasn't included with new sites at that point. Good catch.

Existing images that are on your website before Kraken is installed don't automatically optimize so you need to manually optimize them using the technique in the training. After the Kraken plugin is installed images will be automatically optimized upon upload.
