As I mentioned earlier, it is difficult to remember what sites you have left comments on. This is where a plugin might come in handy for your readers.
Unfortunately this won't solve the issue with Site Comments and knowing when someone has responded to your comment. However it can help with subsequent comments as well as comments from non WA members.
I have installed a plugin called Send email only on reply to my comment. There are probably other plugins that will do the same thing, but this is the one I am using. To install this plugin do the following:
- Click on plugins on the left in your Wordpress Dashboard
- click add new
- Type Send email only on reply to my comment into the search field
- Install and activate it
Note: It is not tested with the latest version of wordpress, but it is still working on my site and has not caused any issues

Usually I go to somebody's website back which I see interesting to look for answers to my comments. Sometimes some sites are so far away from my interests, that I do not know how to extend conversation. Luckily, there are many inspiring and fascinating sites, that sometimes I forget to comment. After reading, I go back to particular page which was offered for input.

That is great that you are going back to sites you were interested in. I wish more people did that. I had someone outright disagree with a post of mine and I left a very detailed response but I never heard back from the poster. I was really hoping he would come back and reply to my comment.

I think it happens when people overwhelmed with tasks. They want to learn, participate in community life and leave comments too. Your tutorial helps to stay on track. Thanks:)
