Do you have a favorite font? Would you like a signature similar to mine? Maybe you'd like to create a new logo.

You're not restricted to just the fonts available from Microsoft. Pop over to http://cooltext.com and check out some of the cool fonts available there to download for free.

I was looking for a nice script that I could use for my signature because I felt like a change. And I found a few fonts that I like so I downloaded them.

That's when I realized that I didn't know how to install fonts on Windows 10. Yeah I'd done it before on other operating systems but not for a while. And I've only had Windows 10 for less than 6 weeks so it's still a learning curve for me.

So I did what I usually do and asked Google. After a little research I discovered how to install fonts in Windows 10.

I learn something new every day and I like to share the best discoveries with my Wealthy Affiliate friends. So here's today's share.

Enjoy,

Thanks Marion, still on Windows 8.1, but bookmarked for the future.
BTW, how do you find 10? It took me quite a while to master 8 after upgrading from XP, so I'm a little bit wary.

I had to use 8.1 to fix a friend's computer and did not like it one bit (I fixed her computer). Windows 10 is much more user-friendly.

I just followed Marion's tutorial while using Windows 7, and it worked exactly the same, so I don't think you have to change operating systems for the procedure to work. Thanks Marion, I didn't know I could do it this way.

The only other factor is to make sure that the font is imported in .ttf format. You can download fonts from both Google fonts: https://www.google.com/fonts, or from DaFont: http://www.dafont.com/.

However, the fonts are copied out to your computer as .woff2 files and will not work on your computer. Once they are on your computer as .woff2 files, you can convert them by going to:
https://everythingfonts.com/ =>
Font Conversion (tab) =>
woff conversions =>
woff2 to tff =>
Slide the EULA slider to 'Yes' =>
click 'Pick Font File' =>
browse and select the .woff2 font you already downloaded =>
Select 'Convert' =>
Save

Once it's converted and saved to your computer, I was then able to go to the folder where I saved it => Double-click the .ttf file => Click 'Install'.

This will install it on your computer. If you also have a desktop version of Photoshop, as I do, you'll also have access to these new fonts from there as well.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. I have no problem installing fonts in 8, it's just I thought it may be different in 10 after viewing Marion's training.
I have been contemplating upgrading to 10 but haven't taken the plunge yet.
