Hello Wealthy Affiliate!
Today I'm going to show you how to insert this beautiful facebook box in your website.

More specific we're going to insert it in a widget, in the side bar.
This requires of course that you have a facebook page that represents your website.

Hi,

I tried to create the widget, but it shows me nothing.
Also at the facebook Page https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/page-plugin it does not shows me the preview of my facebook group widget https://www.facebook.com/groups/1015836425240698/ like you image below.

I tried also the the Text Widget and the HTML Widget.

If you view my Website below you will see 3 white bwidget blocks.
TI tried 2 times a Textwidget and 1 time a HTML Widget.

My Website: https://islamnaturheilmittel.com/

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Did you try out the few tweaks I mentioned earlier in this discussion thread?

Yes, I tried it. I think it is the problem, that I add a group from my account directly (private). To connect the group I need to make a group like a company.

Do someone know, what can I do to connect my private group in my website. The problem which I have is, if I create a new group (like a company, which connected with the widget), what will I do with my 120 members?? They are in the old (private) group. Do I say join the other one. It is a bit strange, I think..

As far as fb is concerned, your private group and your company group are separate groups. Brothers and sisters and relatives I assume are in your private group. They may not be really interested in your company group.

So you make a group like a company.

Then along the way fb give you the option to tell them about your company. If they are interested they may like your company.

Hello Slim,
yes you're right, the problem is that your group is private. And in fact I think it just works for facebook Pages and not for Groups.

I think that you should have a facebook Page for your webpage. You can post in the Page and share your posts in your group. Slowly you will have likes on your page too.

I have one more question.

I insert now my facebok page on my website with the html code from facebook.

Now it only shows the name of my group, on my website. Do you know why it does not show me a container of my facebook page?

Look here, please: http://islamnaturheilmittel.com/

Have a look at the information below.

When I grabbed the fb code, I grabbed the JavaScript SDK code and it did not work for me.

I documented what I did earlier:

Instead of grabbing the JavaScript SDK code, I clicked on iframe and grabbed that code.

Within the widget section, instead of using the "text" widget, I used the "custom html" widget. WP complained that "allowTransparency" should all be in lower case, so I changed the capital T to a lower case t and WP no longer complained.

Older versions of WP allowed a "text" widget to include some HTML code, the newer versions of WP seem not to (based on this experience). The "custom html" widget is a new style of widget.

I tested that and it seems to be working in the expected manner.

Try the above and let us know how you get on.

Well nothing ever works for me. For starters facebook is not giving me the link I signed up with - it is giving me a link that looks like an affiliate link and doesn't even allow me to post it here. When I try entering that link I get a blank page - doesn't give me a photo like yours does. So I give up.

I think I know what's the problem. Can you send you the url of your facebook page?

I sent the link to you in a private message. If you could take a look that would be helpful.

Maybe it's because it's a facebook-profile and not a facebook-page.
I believe it's better to have a facebook page so that people can just click on like. When you have a profile they have to make a friend request and you cannot either publish your website URL.
I suggest that you make a facebook-page with the name of your website.
And of course you can publish your posts in both ;)

I am not sure what you mean by a facebook page - that is my facebook page. Doesn't matter what I click on it still shows an affiliate type link.
