Page 2 = The Periodic Table of SEO Success Factors Infographic

Page 3 = Why certain factors make Content King for SEO

Page 4 = Other important On-Page SEO factors

There are many factors that go into website rankings. Knowing how to improve SEO for your website is an important first step to getting good rankings. In this training I will explain why you have more impact with On-Page SEO than you do with Off-Page SEO.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ON-PAGE & OFF-PAGE SEO

A simple explanation into the differences of On-Page and Off-Page SEO are that you have control of the On-Page but not of the Off-Page. With On-Page SEO we are talking about the many aspects of content creation, HTML tags, and architectural crawl.

Let me simplify that a bit more. You already know what content creation is, or at least you should, but here is what I am talking about with HTML tags and architectural crawl. The HTML tags consist of your Title and Meta description tags as well as blog post tags and the architectural crawl has to do with linking and sitemaps.

However when it comes to Off-Page SEO, you have very little control over how that will turn out. This is mainly because it deals with links pointing to your website, the authority of those links, your social media reputation, and the location in the world that you live. Yes, that does make a difference.

Great training ,Boomer. Anchor text for internal and external links used in captions under your images is another fantastic way to improve your on page SEO.
Have a good weekend and stay safe.

Yes, that is another way, as well as placing your keyword in the caption, if relevant

The only thing that doesn't make any sense to me is why Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc, give you different search results when you are "incognito" verses your usual broswer settings...
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Because in your usual browser settings they look at your search and browser history cookies. They can tell what you have previously searched for, and then skew your results to favor those previous searches.

Boomer for President!

Nice stuff Robert - you kick it man!

For those who are uncertain of what the meanings are of the Red items on the 'periodic table' could you define them Robert?

For instance, Vp and Vc which are both no no's and -3's must be avoided and not everyone has reached the training that covers these.

Thanks - and Happy Sunday!

ROCK ON!

Vp = Violation for Paid Links. If you want to get links to point to your site the must be naturally obtained from sharing your links with others. Any kind of Paid Links will get your ranking tanked.

Vc = Violation for Cloaking. If you were to cloak your content so that the search engines see something different then the website readers, then that too will get your rankings tanked.

If you follow the training here at WA, neither of these will be an issue.

You never let up, do you Robert? I'm still crawling through your last two training and here you are, raining another training lesson on me. HTML tags and architectural crawl...what on earth does this mean? And Off-Page SEO!!? Good Heavens, more Internet geekery!

(sigh) I know, I know! Training is good. I just have to take my time to catch up, is all. Bless you Robert, I do appreciate your effort....

Yes, this training and another one I had done were a little on the geekery side but they were not as geeky as I could get. :-)
Reply
ShirleyWoon Premium
Thhrrrrrp! Not as geeky? You've got to be kidding!
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
No, not kidding. I could get more geeky but that runs the risk of confusing too many people. Simple is much better.

Excellent training there Robert!
I have a question. Is comment refers to Ce? and do we need to ask for comment within WA everytime we have created a new post?
Reply
boomergp08 Premium
Yes, comments are one of the ways to get content engagement. Other ways are to ask questions of your readers by making them think of an occasional answer or tell a short common story with some humor thrown in. Using images and videos also help to increase engagement.

But after you publish new content it is always a good idea to post it up for comments here at WA. This helps because Google will see not only just engagement but also new fresh content for it to index. The more comments a page/post has the better chance that it will rank higher.
