Phillip, so writing a blog is about writing in content from someone else's blog ? This is from the video of writers block. I have always thought that a blog was writing about yours or mine life stories. This makes writing a blog a little easier. Thank you Phillip for your insight and teaching.

You may have misunderstood. You use other people's content for inspiration, to find ideas and content idea and then you write your own. That is what I meant in this video. :-)

A blog can be about any topic you wish (and that might be about your own life stories). You could blog about horses, for example, everything to do with training them, their behaviour, their nutrition, their character, you could write a blog about any topic and leverage that blog to suck in traffic (people who are interested in that topic for one reason or another)...
Web Blog = Blog. It started off really as a type of online diary for people to write but has become basically a lot more than just that.
An example of what not to do would be to mix up a load of topics, like horses, luxury travel, vegan cooking, football. They are 4 different niches altogether and visitors wouldn't know what the heck your site is supposed to be helping them with.
Stick to one targeted niche per website and create content that informs, educates, entertains people in that niche. Your focus is to help them with any specific problems in that niche.
If I had a problem with my weight I'd be on google looking for weight loss ideas. I'd end up on a lot of weight loss related sites in that niche. Maybe I would buy something through one of their links if they'd helped me find a specific solution to my particular problem.
