This is what I've been doing for 2 minutes (maybe 3) per day for a whole week. This technique allowed me to go from 7300ish followers on Twitter to just over 8000 followers in 7 days.

If you try this manually on Twitter, you'll see why it's such a pain in the a$$. It takes ages, you have to actually spend quite a bit of time looking for your non followers. Go try it, you'll see what I mean. When you realize it's a pain, this is what to do.

Only 2 Tools are required and you can use them for free. Like anything else online there are options to go premium, but you don't need to do that to get heaps more followers than usual.

Those 2 Tools are-

1. Manage Flitter.

2. Status Brew.

The basic premise of these tools and how to use them is this. You unfollow all the people who are not following you. No point in following non-followers because of 2 reasons.

1. They don't see your posts (cos they ain't following you!)

2. You get to clear out your account, which changes the ratio that twitter allows you, hence, you can then follow others (who will likely follow you back)

So. Follow the simples and get yourself heaps of new followers. Do this daily for 2 or 3 minutes and you're going to see tens of thousands of followers in a few months. And you know what that means, don't you? That's right folks! I don't need to spell it out.

Now that's what I call GROWTH HACKING!!!

As you can see in my analytics for Twitter, the proof is in the pudding. I don't even spend too much effort with Twitter because I haven't learned it properly yet.

[UPDATE]

Since making this video a mere 3 hours previously, I've now got 8021 followers. An increase of....oooh, about 20? not bad. Multiply that by 8 (=24 hours) would be about 160?

That's the potential, me thinks. We will see in 21 hours from now.

[UPDATE 2]

Seems there are ways to increase your allotted unfollows per day with manageflitter.

do things such as "invite" friends via email.

How many people did I just unfollow 5 minutes ago? Blimey, gave me a bonus of 1,500 and let me unfollow a total of 800 today.

Not sure if I will get 800 EVERY day, we'll see tomorrow.

[UPDATE 3]

Almost 2000 new followers since 31st December.

Additional tool is Crowdfire. Worth looking at, lots of options for free users.

Jim-Bo,
This looks great and I will try it out. But what's the rationale for that? I understand that there's no point following those that are not following you but I don't understand how come more and more people are following you by unfollowing those who are not following you?
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
ratio. You can only follow a certain amount according to a ratio.

Once you've cleared out the junk non followers you make room within that ratio for others to fit in. like house cleaning. Get rid of the junk and you can buy new, more useful stuff to put in it. If you have a house full of old useless junk, you can't get the new useful stuff in. It won't fit.
Reply

Really?! I didn't know twitter followers have ratio. That sounds weird. I can understand what you are saying but why? Why when you clear out the space, more people will start following you? It doesn't really make sense to me. Or is it while you unfollow those that are not following you, you also follow more?
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
yes, follow more...that's what you must do to get followers in the first place.

if you have a brand new account you have zero followers and you aren't following anyone.

if you then follow 100 people, about 10 or 20 will follow you back then you hit a limit and can't follow any more in that day...

next day if you unfollow the 80-90 who didn't follow you, you allow yourself another 80-90 followers on top of what you're allowed that day. So, it could be allowed to follow another 180-190...

The numbers I used are approximations, I don't know what the actual ratio is per account.

clear out the junk, allows you to follow more, then a percentage of those follow you back. Then unfollow the non followers again.

It's a boost to your followers.

Use the three tools I show in the video to unfollow up to 1000 non followers per day. This changes the ratio greatly in your favour.

You now have room for heaps more followers (the new ones you've followed)

I see. Thanks for the explanation.

Apart from this method, what we can do is just to post and share valuable things frequently and try to network with others more and gain followers "naturally"?

Thanks Jim,
Even as I unfollow those not following me, I will need to continue following others to increase on the following in order to reap more followers right?
How many then can you follow each day?
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
There's a ratio twitter uses. Not sure what it is. It could be even a ratio that changes according to how many followers you've reached.

for example, 5000 following you might mean you're allowed a few more in the ratio.

I'm really not sure. It could even be a secret number only known to twitter.

Yes, clearing out the old that you're pointlessly following seems to sweep the decks and allow you to follow more...

I've got about 8170 now, I've just had a look.

What did I have when I did this video?

Hey Lady May,

Long time no see!

There is also something called crowdfire, which allows you to unfollow a further 100 non followers...Haven't checked it out myself yet, but it's mentioned in the comments below.

We're theoretically able to use all 3 tools to unfollow 300 non followers a day now. That's going to improve the amount of new followers per day as a side effect.

1. Manage Flitter
2. Status Brew.
3. Crowdfire (not shown in video above)

Happy Saturday.

Reply

Thanks for this Jim-Bo. I use a program called Crowdfire and it does the same thing. The cool thing about this program is it sends me stats once a day on how many followers I've gained and who has unfollowed me. Not sure if the two platforms you gave do that, but I think it's pretty nifty. It also allows you to unfollow 100 non-followers a day. That is the Free limit. You can also use it to piggy-back two accounts together (Twitter and Instagram) in one app (on mobile). For example if you are looking at Twitter followers/unfollowers and finish with those, you just swipe your mobile screen to the right (or left) and bam, your Instagram followers and unfollowers are there for you to do the same follow/unfollow routine- no need to have two separate apps for this. One thing to know about this handy feature of Crowdfire is that the Twitter one is free. Instagram piggy back used to be free, but now there is no free version. I think it's a few dollars a month.

is crowdfire an app which is on mobile only, or is it on desktop pc too?

will take a looksy now. Maybe could ramp this up to unfollowing 300 per day.

I've got access to 4 twitter accounts, mine, the wifeys and the 2 kids...

So I'm integrating these 2 (possibly 3) tools with them also to ramp up the followers on them.

Hi Jim-Bo,

Sorry for the late response. I'm so lame that way sometime! DId you figure this out? In case you haven't had a full on chance to look into it, the app is for both mobile and desktop. I confess I use only the mobile app, but I just now clicked on the desktop version and it's really good! If you've actually signed up and tried it out for a while, tell me how you like it. I love it! I I really like all the free features which is the only ones I need. It's great that when the app is first opened it tells you immediately who all your non-followers. Then with a swipe to the right (mobile use) I can see all non-followers, those that unfollowed me that day and those that followed me that day and all my 'fans'.

Then I can click on one of those categories and it sends me right to the page to found out who is in each of the categories. Then with a swipe to the left I can change over to my Instagram account and do the same thing.

It's super quick and easy. Hope you found it to be the same.

Have a happy week!
Ashley

I like it so far. Been using it a few days now. I like the way it asks you questions and gives you prescriptions to follow per day, such as liking 50 people's tweets, unfollwing 50 people who aren't active, etc...

Manage flitter I've noticed will let you unfollow 800 people a day.

How?
Go through the dashboard and do the 4 things it asks you to do and it awards you with a bonus so it's not 100 a day, it grows to 800

1 of those things is to click on tweet about manage flitter. Another is to invite friends by email, another is to share on facebook and I can't remember the other one, but do that and using these 3 tools for free together every day you can unfollow

100 using crowdfire
100 using status brew
800 using manage flitter.

So I am now able, for free, in a few minutes per day, unfollow 1000 people who're not following back...

Way to go Jim-Bo. Sounds like you are now the Jedi Master for this. LOL! BTW- I just finished watching your video tutorial on how to use Crowdfire. You did a great job and a way better one that I could have done, for sure! Thanks for sharing about the tool so everyone could use it!
Thanks also for all the advice you just gave me. I will have to start working harder on status brew and manage filter!

All the best to you on gaining those followers :)

how do I get to the numbers you talk about...
do I need to be following 100 per day hoping that they follow you back...
is that how it's done???
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
Yes, or more if it will let you. Just keep following until you hit that max ratio for the day.

Make sure you're not just following random people though, try to follow the followers of "authorities" in your niche.

simply go your authorities twitter accounts, look at their followers and follow them...

Hey Jimbo,

How do you deter bots from following your Twitter account?

If someone unfollows me on Twitter, I do the same to their account.

Now you need to show us how to setup a Status Brew account, it's just a liiiiittle tricky.
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
We only unfollow non followers, that's the trick here. You don't want to unfollow people who're following you because like you say, they would do the same to you...keep the followers, sweep out the space wasters. replace them with heaps more new followers (by following them and they follow back)

As for bots, not sure at all! Never would know the difference, to be honest.

Status Brew and Manage Flitter are easy to set up, you just sign in with your twitter account.
Reply
Triblu Premium
Just seems that auto-following, I found, tended to encourage the accounts where once you actually visit their Twitter home page, you can clearly tell there is no real human behind the account.

ah I see. Well, I only follow based on pre-requisites in my own app called mass planner. such as how many tweets they have, how many characters in their bio, how many etc etc, there are lots of settings.

Then of course I follow manually, too.

How does unfollowing give you more followers?
Reply
Jim-Bo Premium
twitter uses a ratio that you can't exceed. It says "hey, you can't follow any more right now, come back later."

However.

When you change that ratio, by unfollowing people you're following and they're not following you, you can tweak that ratio.
