In order to get individual posts indexed quickly, you need to get set up on Google Search Console.

To do this, please follow Kyle's training on "Setting Up Google Search Console". This is very important. My training builds on what Kyle has done here. So you have to go through his training first. And please follow what he says very carefully.

When you are going through Kyle's training, you may get to a road block. I did, and so did some others, as shown in the comments on the training.

You may not encounter this roadblock. If not, great! But I have included this just in case you do.

The road block can happen when you're supposed to view your website's XML sitemap. To view it, you click here --

Kyle's sitemap looked like this --

But for myself and some others, it looked like this --

I entered my sitemap link on Google Search Console. But an error showed up --

When I clicked on this "1 error," I got the following detail --

I could not find any resolution to this in the comments. However, what I want to emphasize here is that if you want to get an individual post indexed, and you run into this road block, don't worry about it!

You may have to do some things manually, but it can be done!

So, either way -- whether you have encountered this problem or not, if you want a post to be indexed, please keep reading!

Thank you so much!
Your lessons clarified how to deal with this issue.
I appreciate your lessons.
GSC still shows no sitemap index but I guess that doesn't matter since my website and posts do show as indexed and a search result also shows up,
Thank you & Happy New Year!

Update: That post that was taking longer than 15 minutes to get indexed did eventually get indexed. I checked it again because I had a similar delay yesterday. The one I was trying to do yesterday showed up as indexed today, and so did the other one. So I have now seen 100% success!

Thanks. I wondered how to do this as the new system didn't have the fetch button. Very helpful
