Hello,

I hope that I could have read this post in 2015 years ago when I was starting out in WA. I would have saved hundreds of hours writing useless posts that never get ranked (and also hundreds of $$$).

If you are a beginner I am 100% sure that this tutorial will save tons of your time and it will help you to get ranked faster on Google.

Enjoy!

PS.Read until the end because the best tip is on the last page

Great training Roope! A very helpful summary - but just one thing, did you say “10” tips ... I went back and forth looking for the one I missed to no avail 😀 great stuff at any count!!

Now a serious question - looks like you have been around for awhile yet just this training whilst some are making many trainings. What are your thoughts on the benefits beyond rank within WA for internal trainings?
Thanks for your leadership,

Timo

Every newbie should read your lesson, and many of us more seasoned members need this lesson as a reminder. I follow all of these guidelines very regularily except for two. I have been rather tired of writing and have only been writing one post per month per website, but have been updating and improving other pages and posts. I have been a bit lackluster with social media, but I do share on FB and sometimes provide some links on Quora. I may have to re read your advice every week, to keep me focused!

Very informative Roope, always good to read how someone else has done it.

I especially like your advice to concentrate on one social media.

I have been concentrating of FB however, I will be adding in one more soon. I was going to add Google+ but I don't see the point in that.

Thank you for your post

Yeah, at the beginning I tried to do them all but I noticed it didn't work well. Now I mainly focus on YouTube.

I suggest going back through the keyword training in the Online Entrepreneur Certification course - you can find this on Level 1 - Lesson 9.
Reply
RoopeKiuttu Premium
Yes, Kyle will walk you through QSR in the step by step training. I recommend following it diligently :)

QSR = Quoted Search Results. => the number of competing sites for that specific keyword.

I try and often find keywords way below 50 and have done from the start. The only problem I have is the number of posts that I have created.

The number of words I have written if only I'd spread across the posts/articles then I would be on my way but some posts are over 4k and I feel wasted.

1. Is this amount too large for anybody to read
2. If I could have split into separate articles, I would be on my way

I feel that a long post would in fact (if written well) attract people who are serious about creating an online business, and that smaller posts are for people with either little interest or just starting out on their journey.

Longer posts tend to rank better and drive more traffic than short posts.

I had a feeling I should probably make my posts longer. In your opinion, would it hurt anything to go back and add more content to existing posts?
Or should I just write longer posts going forward?

I'm also in the process of creating a brand account for my website on Youtube.
Thanks for the tips!

These are all good, but for me the most important things are:
#1 Great keywords (as you explained)
#2 Comments (as you explained)

Those work better than anything else. I saw comments raising my post rank overnight.

I already link internally and share to social media as well and I am tying to post more frequently.

I just got to 300 comments, I need to keep going! That is amazing you have 3000 comments and so many posts as you said in you recent post!

Thanks for this great, simple summery of the best ways to rank!!

Hmm... I think I have an interesting question. Would you rather have 50 pages that have 4000 words each or 100 pages that have 1000 words. I remember hearing a tip that says to write 50% more than your competition. Great post, learned a lot!
Reply
vhHayley Premium
I am also curious - thanks!
Reply
RoopeKiuttu Premium
I have also been thinking the same question.

I would say that a longer post is better but of course it depends.

If you are writing for example an affiliate marketing guide, one 4,000-word gets probably much more traffic than four 1,000-word post.

But if you write a review of one product, sometimes 1,000 words can be enough. Then you move to another one and write 1,000 words again. Or you can of course make a review where you compare those two products. Both approaches are fine.

Yesterday I read from Neil Patel has a principle: Minimum 2,000 words per post but usually he writes even 4,000-5,000 words.

It was interesting to hear and I will also probably write +1,500 words from now on.

Fantastic. This is what I needed right now as I have many posts on pages 3, 4, 5 and and above and only 3 on page 1. Thing is, it has been like that for a while so I need to improve on a few things like social media sharing and updating content. I am a pretty regular poster so that part is good for me. Thanks heaps for your tips and I will def start applying ALL of them!
Cheers, Sharon

Yeah, Uncle Scrooge is Roope in Finnish version of Donald Duck. But I think Roope comes from the name Robert (or Spanish version Roberto).

I really like this. It is easy to read, makes sense and gives us quick, simple reminders of where we can dive right in and make improvements to our existing posts and greatly improve future posts.

I never thought competition of 300 made sense for a keyword with lower searches. I stuck to low competition but those often had lower searches as well (in the hundreds). I have recently started doing posts with keywords that have higher competition (maybe 100-200) but have much higher number of searches per month (3,000-5,000). This seems to be working well. I haven't ranked on the first page with these posts yet but they are rapidly rising up. If it continues, I can see this strategy could be quite successful. I get search traffic on these keywords already even though I started with more competition.

I need to bump up my word count and my posting frequency and also start adding videos.
Thanks,
Jessica

This is really great, in support of your last point my first 10 articles that I wrote as a newbie without any SEO or rankings or even a fully built site got over 2250 pages loads, and I never went in to update them so it wasn't me putting up those numbers - good helpful content is found magically out there it seems!

Also I was wondering does it ever worry you that when you ask for comments in here that people may also be copying your content and ideas?
