How it works?

So, having trouble getting ideas on paper? Try this techniques:

  1. Clear your mind. Relax. Forget all of the rules concerning grammar. This is the most important part of the exersice.
  2. Set the timer. Give yourself 5 to 10 minutes to write continuously. This is so you get going and write quickly. Spend the time writing, not worrying about the time. If you are a beginning writer then try a ten-minute limit. If you are a more experienced try fifteen to twenty minute sessions.
  3. Select a topic for your freewriting. If you just wish to write without a topic, go ahead! Write down anything and everything that comes to mind, even if you don’t think it is useful or relatable. Once you start, do not stop writing; do not criticize or edit what you have written; do not even read what you have written! There will be plenty of time for editing and evaluating when you are finished.
  4. When the time limit is finished, write nothing else. Then go back to the page, read it slowly, and underline all of the ideas that you like or that you think that might be useful for your project

Reanna,
That was great and I am going to try that. Not worrying about editing can keep your mind focused on what you are writing about.
Thank you,
Bobby

Thnx R, interesting concept. It's funny. While I was reading, it gave me an idea - free audio writing - just voice recording your ideas vs writing. Dunno if it's feasible and is the same thing, but that's what came to find. Thnx for sharing as always.
