If you get your web page in front of the people that are looking for a HOT product, it will not take much to convince them to purchase it. Use words / images with FREE shipping, “on sale now,” or just some benefits mentioned in your content to “push them over the edge.”

OK, by the time you finish this step by step tutorial, you will know how to leverage the employees and technology from a multi-billion dollar company to find a HOT product to promote.

Here we go.

Step 1: Go to Amazon's best sellers page: http://www.amazon.com/gp/bestsellers

(**UPDATE**: THE "BESTSELLERS PAGE NO LONGER DISPLAY THE THE TRENDING DATA. HOWEVER, THE "MOVERS & SHAKERS" PAGE CURRENTLY GIVES SOME TRENDING DATA. Go here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/movers-and-shakers )

eBay has a trending page at https://www.ebay.com.au/trending which looks like another good source of hot brand names.

Another great source, "Valthonis."

Do you know if any site has Craigslist trending products / post (or any classified site)?

I'm afraid not, doesn't seem to be anything available at least with a cursory. Search

This is a great tutorial. I just started with Squidoo and promoting Amazon. live in a state where i am banned from being a direct associate.

I already knew about bestsellers, but like to quantify my research. You have given some good guidelines as well as your theory behind them.

Thanks.

Thanks Scott. That's a great work around to promoting Amazon and I hope other members caught on to this. Hub pages also offer partnering with them on eBay and Amazon products, I believe.

In fact, the commissions can be just as much partnering as it is if you were an affiliate on your own. Squidoo / Hubpages have a higher commission payout rate b/c they do more sales a month than you.

What I mean is this: if Squdoo does a million sales a month and their commission rate is 8% b/c of it, they split that with you and give you 4%.

On the other hand, if you were an affiliate of Amazon and only sold 30 items a month, your commission rate might only be 4% anyway.

If you make, let's say 101 sales a month, you may get paid 5%. In this case you're better off being an Affiliate directly.

NOTE: I'm not sure what the exact commission tier break down is, but the point is do not think it's not worth promoting an Amazon product w/ Squidoo just b/c you cannot qualify for the Amazon Associates program.

TIP: Just don't build your whole business around Squidoo b/c you DO NOT OWN the site. Therefore, they can change the affiliate program rules at any time and wipe out your income stream.
