Welcome to this training on how to edit a comment in WordPress. You may think that you know everything there is to know about editing text within WordPress. But this training tackles some very specific problems that many of us come across from time to time.

As a WordPress website owner you may need to edit comments that you receive from time to time. Although most of the comments that we receive from the Wealthy Affiliate comments system are generally of high quality, some organic comments that we receive may not be so great.

Although most people will already know how to correct a quick spelling mistake within the WordPress editor, in this training we are going to look at a much bigger example of comment editing.

Have you ever received a long comment with lots of errors? A comment written entirely in block capital letters? Even a comment that simply doesn't make any sense? Let me show you what I mean...

Thank You Andrew,
Luckily i haven't got comments like these, but one comment i did get didn't make sense, so i deleted it. Thanks for this training.Next time i will edit, as comments are "Google points".
Cheers

Yeah, that is something that I was doing at first. Some comments are quite obviously just spam. But even with the most spammiest of comments I edit them to meet the needs of my site, remove any links that they include and hit publish. At the end of the day, its all content.

Not a problem! Just make sure you get rid of any links from the spammers. I thought I had been careful, but then found I had missed a couple of links after installing a link checker plugin. I found a plugin that checks for outbound and broken links from your site, its been a big help! You sometimes don't realize that the crafty spam commentators are getting through!
