Though the main focus of Wealthy Affiliate is to teach us how to create a profitable internet business in affiliate marketing, we are also taught a few other aspects that on their own can earn us money. And what are these specific aspects of website creation that can produce income?
These are the core areas of knowledge that ALL website owners, whether they are affiliate marketing or not, need to possess in order to have a successful website. Keyword Research, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), WordPress, and Content Creation. If you know these, you can earn money.
Once we learn these things from the training here at WA and then apply them to our own websites, we set the foundation for our website business. Every single website owner needs to know these in order for their websites to thrive, especially through Google and the other search engines.
When we take these actions with our own websites over and over again, we should become quite knowledgeable in how things work. And for those who start seeing results in Google search with high and sustained rankings, this is proof that your knowledge can lead to income.
On the following pages of this tutorial I will show how and where I go to diversify my income from the knowledge I gain through the WA training courses. It will take time for your website business to start earning any substantial money. These alternate opportunities can help in both the short and long term.

I wanted to send a private message but thought posting my question here would benefit others as well.
I just started thinking about diversifying my income following the guidance presented in your article, so I as to be able to earn a side income while building out my website.
My questions are:
1. Do we have to sign a contract once hired for a job?
2. How do recruiters actually communicate with freelancers that are working outside their country?
Is Skype a professional way without utilizing the freelancer.com platform at all?
3. Is it okay or not necessary to know the details of the person you are working for? Like their company name etc.
4. How do one get paid?
5. How can I ensure the opportunity is legit not a scam?
I know my questions are more like an article now, but would sincerely appreciate your response and help regarding them.

1. It would all depend on the type of job and what that company/person requires.
2. Skype and email are the two ways I communicated with clients in other countries.
3. You should ALWAYS know the details of the person and company you work for. Most times these details will be included in the job description, if not then make sure you ask before agreeing to do any work.
4. With the exception of local companies, every time I was paid was through PayPal. If PayPal is not an option for you and the client wants to pay through some other online payment method, make sure the payment processor used has no record of payment problems.
5. You have to do your research. Look up the company on Google, check out their website, and look for things that do not seem right. If you are unsure, ask questions. If they are hesitant in giving you clear answers, don't commit to work for them.
