Upon activation, you need to go to Quotes Collection => Options to access the plugin settings. This is where you can define the text of the link that will show a different quote to your readers, and to select the number of iterations to load on refresh (20 by default):
Important note: if you are using any caching plugin, is highly recommended to check the "Dynamically fetch the first random quote in widget" checkbox, otherwise your site will (could) display the same quote.
Next, you'll have to build up your quotes collection. Yes, it means, that you need to add them manually. And yes, I know, there are many "smart" plugins that will allow you to automatically fetch quotes from various popular quotes sites. But these plugins will link back to the original website in each quote, taking your readers away ...
On the other hand, this plugin will allow you to create your own quote collection. In other words, you can add quotes that are suitable for your website and your users! The result is a more authentic user experience.
Go to Quotes Collection => Add New and start adding your random quotes. Simply enter the quote text and the author name. Optionally, you can mention the source and you can add tags for each quote. And don't gorget to check the "Public" checkbox to make your quote publicly available (otherwise, your quote will be stored as a draft, and won't be displayed in the sidebar):
Finally, just click the "Add Quote" button to save your newly defined quote. Then, repeat the process to add more quotes.
And needless to say, you can always edit your existing quotes. Just go to Quotes Collection => All Quotes and click the "Edit" link below the quote you want to edit:
