I will use Canva as my main image editor here. But I always find that some images are not transparent. They have white background that is troublesome to use.
When I tried to put the crown on top of the guy, the white background got in the way.
Do you have this trouble all the time? Canva can't help you with that.
So I turned to GIMP.
GIMP has the ability to change your image with a background to an image with transparent background.
Here is how I did it:
- Open GIMP
- Load your image to GIMP
- Select the white background with the magic wand
- Select Color then Color to Alpha
There you have it. Just remember when saving the file, choose EXPORT. That's the only way to save to JPG or PNG. Or else your file will be save in GIMP format which most websites still do not consider it as an image file.
A clean Gold Crown.
Let's add it to the guy's head using Canva. You will see that it will be nicely put.
Going to tag it, of course!
