A few days ago, I’ve posted a training on how to create page jumps within one post/page in WordPress. They’re convenient to point a visitor to a certain spot in your blog post quickly.

But creating page jumps is not limited to the same post/page only. With a slight modification of the code and a different placement of the link code, you can easily create a page jump from any blog post/page to another blog post/page on your website.

You may think that this is the same as internal linking. Not quite. The difference is that if you use internal linking, you’re creating a link to another post/page on your website. And this link will ALWAYS bring you to the top of the other page. You can also set it to “Open in a new window”.

Creating a page jump to another post/page is basically linking to another post/page, but you determine where the reader will start out to read that article. For example, you’re writing an article and mention a certain product. Since you’ve already written a review about that product, you would like to direct your reader to the feature list in the review instead of re-writing them in your article.

You’d set an ID and target to the part where you’re mentioning the features on the review post/page and wrap the page jump link in the article you mention the product.

Quite confusing, but I’ll show you how it’s done.
