A Gravatar is an "avatar" image that follows you from site to site when you do things like blog or comment on blogs.

Creating a gravatar associated with all of your Wordpress comments is very important as it adds credibility and humanizes not just the comments you post on your website, but the comments that you post on others' websites. This leads to a better, more interactive and trustworthy discussion.

To create a gravatar, it is a very easy process. You simply go to Gravatar.com and set-up an account.

==> Gravatar.com

**Do know that you can only have one gravatar per email address, so if you want multiple gravatar accounts you will need to use unique email addresses that are not registered within the gravatar.com platform.

In this video I am going to walk you through the following:

  • Creating a Gravatar.com account
  • Adding an image to your gravatar account
  • How to test your gravatar live
  • Associating a gravatar with a user in Wordpress.
  • Adding a gravatar to the SiteComments platform

Note, if you are wanted to add a brand new User to Wordpress, you can follow this training which will walk you through the process;

===> How to Create a New User in Wordpress

If you have any questions about how gravatars work, how to set them up or anything discussed in this video, please leave your comments below and I will be more than happy to help you out. :)

Have never thought that I will be stuck on something so simple here as leaving a comment. Is it just me or anyone else also created a gravatar account and now cannot leave comments through WA? When I am trying to add an account through comments platform it says "Please use a Gravatar account with a personalized image." Can't solve it since last weekend. Did anyone face the same issue?

Have you added an image to your Gravatar account, you will need to that. You will also need to make sure that your image is set to a "G" rating or it will not show up on sites or here at WA. ;)

Hi, everyone!

I signed up for Gravatar, but they keep saying they've sent me a validation email to get my account started.

I have received no email from them. It is definitely not in my inbox or my spam folder - I know this 100% because they are both empty.

No matter how many times I ask them to re-send the email by clicking their resend button, nothing comes through.

'Grateful for any help.

I would try a different email address. My hotmail was a problem, so had to use gmail for confirmation.

Still have a problem setting up my Gravatar account; confirmation won't go through to my email address I have in my wordpress settings. Can anyone give me some direction.

Can't work my site comment without setting up this account and I want to finish my tasks on course 2, lesson 6, before I move on; I have been stuck for two days; can't seem to get an answer.

It's probably something really simple.

Hi. Are you checking the web email you created via WA? Not your messages tab, but the webmail for your chosen email? If you go to Rubix and then Site Email (where you were to create your email the first time) you should see a link to your webmail. This is where you check for any emails. Your password should be there as well. Let me know if this helps you cause it was a bit confusing for me as well.

Hi 11thhour,

I didn't create an email on site email. I created a forwarding account instead. My email from my website is processed through forwarding on site email, then directly to my personal email.

Hmm. OK. Not sure then. You've probably submitted a resend already. Perhaps go to the main live chat and ask for further help. Maybe someone has had the same situation.

I asked live chat, support, and discussion; no help. I just sent a email to Carson, hopefully I'll get an answer.

It's funny that I have no problem with any other email that's processed through the forwarder, just the Gravatar confirmation email.

Thank you for your help; appreciate it.

Hi Keith,
1. Your regular email account is good. But I get the feel that if it's a Google (xxxxxxxx.gmail.com) account, you will do better. It's free, so why not !

2.Your website is good. My initial reaction, and I'm still learning so ask others for more reaction, is that the first page that you sent me to is a bit Selly Selly. My reaction is . . . "Well what do you do for ME."

Just a thought. I'll pay money if you help Me achieve MY goals. If you don't . . . I'll go to someone who APPEARS to help me.

No negative comment intended. All thoughts want to help you make big money.

Let me know if I'm helping or depressing!!!

Wishing you every success,

Paul

Ok so I filled out the login and I used my site specific email for my site, will that work? I have it forwarded to another gmail account as well. I have yet to received the confirmation email.

Or will I have to create the account with a different email?

No Lauren you will not need to create another account, to set this up. What you do need to do though is make sure you register your email address within Gravatar Word Press site.

After you do that, you will just need to verify your email address that your associating your new Gravatar Image with.
